Weathering the Storm Work of Art

Work of Art 04

This card uses the Sprinkles of Life cloud (punched out), Work of Art with markers for the rainbow and a sentiment from Six Sided sampler!  The rainbow is simply colored onto the Work of Art stamp using Stampin Write markers.  Then tie a piece of Baker’s Twine and add some of the cute Epoxy stickers colored with Copics or Sharpie markers.  I know I cased the idea for this card – and I usually write myself notes when I do – but I can’t find it!  So if you know where I saw the original idea, let me know!

Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge

Flower Patch 02

We are still playing the name game for the Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge – matching the first initials of our names to her dies!  For this card I chose the Fancy Label Accordion and Fancy Frames dies.  The front is the beautiful Butterfly Label peel off sticker done with Microfine Glitter and colored with Copic makers.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up’s Flower Patch.  The colors I used on this card are Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.

To bring the focus to the sentiment, I simply punched out a circle to add to the Fancy Label die.  On the inside left, I slide a thin strip of Pool Party under the Star Fancy Frame Edges to make it stand out. (and to get the letter “S” in the card!)

Rhinestones add some bling to the center of each flower – because everything looks better with bling!  Hop over to Karen’s Facebook page to see the rest of the creations for this challenge!  Hugs, Fran

Build a Bouquet Bokeh

Build a Bouquet 02

Happy Valentines Day!  I’ve had this idea in my head for a while but wasn’t even sure it could be done – Bokeh on both sides of one piece of watercolor paper.  The answer – yes it can!  Because the paper gets pretty wet doing this technique, I thought it would create quite a mess on the other side.  But it’s fine!  Just make sure you start with a large enough piece of watercolor paper so the sides can be cut down.  I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi for this card.  After applying the White Craft circles, I sprayed the entire piece with Shimmer Spray!  In real life this is a very sparkly card 🙂   After the paper was ready – and dry – I used Karen Burniston’s Tag Pivot die to create the card.  The sentiment is from Build a Bouquet – it’s one of my favorite sentiments – and is over stamped with Gorgeous Grunge in Pink Pirouette.

The hearts on the front are a retired Stampin Up punch and the inside heart is from Karen Burniston’s Heart Pivot card die.  I added some washi tape, sequins, and a little sliver of gold foil paper – but there is a lot going on in just the paper so I tried to just step away from the embellishments!  Wishing you lots of love today – Hugs, Fran

Poppy Spiral Birthday

Really Good Greetings 04

My oldest daughter had a special birthday yesterday – 30!  This is the card I made her using Karen Burniston’s Spiral Pull Card die, Poppy the Owl character die and lots of star stamps.  The sentiment on the front is from Pictogram Punches and Poppy’s little camera is from Project Life Point and Click.  I added Crystal Effects to the lens.

Pull cards are so much fun to make and receive!  I used the spiral included with the die and added lots of stars!  To make Poppy on both sides, I simply copied an idea from Karen Burniston and made two, glued back to back.  The inside sentiment is from Really Good Greetings – which is a perfect name for this set.

Beach House Washi tape is across the bottom of the card.  We celebrate 4 birthdays in December so I better get busy!  Hugs, Fran

Christmas Through the Window

Ornamental Pine 05 05 front

Another challenge card for the December Creative Crew on Splitcoast!  This challenge was to create a window on your card.  I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits – perfect!  The card size is a 5 x 5 and has Ornamental Pines stamped behind it.

Ornamental Pine 05 side

The candle on the front was hand cut and the flame is from the Bird punch.  I “dripped” Dazzling Diamonds down the side of the candle.

Ornamental Pine 05

The garland under the candle is made with he branch in the Bird punch – just like the flame.  Tie a bow with the Cherry Cobbler seam binding and you have a pretty window card. Play along by using the keyword CCREW1214CF, CreativeCrew, SUO.  Hugs, Fran

Thanksgiving Table

Holiday Invitation 01

This sample was shown on a demo site – and I changed it up a bit to fit my Thanksgiving table.  The end size of the place card is 4 x 4 and I’ll add names to them next week.  I’ve made then to stand up  and hold a cello bag with treats (do we need treats after Thanksgiving?)

Holiday Invitation 01 side

So here’s how to make your own!  Start with a 4 x 10 1/2 piece of Early Espresso and score at 4, 4 1/2, 5 and 9.  Fold according to the photo.  Stamp a 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Crumb Cake with the Hardwood Background stamp in Early Espresso and adhere to the front.  Die cut a leaf from the Autumn Accent die in Cherry Cobbler and sponge the edges with Early Espresso.  Use the Holiday Invitation stamp set and stamp the leaf in Early Espresso.  Stamp Give Thanks on a 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of Very Vanilla and sponge the edges with Crumb Cake.  Mount the pieces onto the flap and add some twine or ribbon. Your guests will be impressed!  Hugs, Fran
