Celebrating a New Release

There’s a new release for Karen Burniston dies coming soon and today I’m showing the Slim Flaps and Frames. This is a fun die that offers a lot of real estate for decorating.

I also used the Mini Pops, Natures Edges, Happy Birthday, Celebrate and balloons from the Explosion die.

Isn’t this fun? So much room!

Here are all the dies in this new release – Have fun checking them out! Hugs, Fran

Inspired By

This month’s Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge is Inspired By – and I was inspired by Kelly Booth!

This was card that inspired me – made by Kelly!

https://cruzinkellster.blogspot.com/2020/09/september-karen-burniston-designer.html

And here’s my card.

I started with a 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 card base that has a magnetic flap that holds the card closed. The sentiment is Happy Birthday from Karen Burniston.

Inside is the cute, cute elephant holding a heart. I loved Kelly’s teal elephant, but I needed a very masculine card, so I went with gray.

Hope you enjoyed this! Make sure to check out all the designer cards this month, and Karen’s will be up on Wednesday! Hugs, Fran

Wing It!

Today is the August Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge that’s call Wing it! We were asked to incorporate wings into our card – any wing! I started with the Backyard Charms fairy.

This is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card that features the fairies in a rainbow circle. The sentiment is from Word Set 5 – Royalty.

The background is the Swirl Pattern Plate embossed into the paper.

Inside is the Castle and the fairies flying around. The castle sits on the Crosshatch Circles.

Two of the fairies are suspended on slim pieces of acetate. The border are the Party Border Blends.

The sentiment is the Happy Birthday die. Take a look at the other designs from the team and Karen’s will be up on Wednesday. Have a great day! Hugs, Fran

Follow the Rainbow

We all need some rainbow right now! Here’s a 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 card using the Karen Burniston Tile Pattern Plate to create a rainbow front for my fun peacock!

The first 4 colors were cut twice and pieced together so they would stretch across the entire card. Each piece was then die cut with the Crosshatch Circle.

The Peacock is from Feathered Animals and the sentiment is a sentiment strip from Simon Says Stamp. I added a few pearls so the peacock didn’t get lost in all the color.

Inside is the Paper Frames die – cut from the different colors and pieced together to echo the rainbow theme.

The peacocks actually stand out better on the white. Those cute hearts are from the Paper Frames die set 🙂

It was easy to piece this together, but I rescored things with a stylus before I started to fold it.

Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

I Scream, You Scream

We all scream for ice cream! It’s warming up outside – finally – and an Ice Cream Sundae inspired birthday card was needed. This card uses the the Karen Burniston Ice Cream Sundae die and Happy Birthday. I also incorporated the Crosshatch Circle.

There is SO much movement with this die! On the inside top I used the Border Blends Party die to create the scallop and the You’re Sweet sentiment die.

Just a fun pic of my ice cream bowl :). Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros February Challenge – Birthday Boy

This month’s Paper Pro’s challenge is masculine birthday cards! I pulled out Karen Burniston’s Coffee die to make some cards that can hold a gift card inside. The outside is decorated with Karen’s Crosshatch Rectangle die, the Happy Birthday die and Honey Bee’s Coffee Break stamp and die that were colored with Copic markers.

One of my favorite things about the Coffee die is that you can slip a gift card in the side of the coffee cup to make it a gift too! Hugs, Fran

Cake for You

It’s a great day for cake!  I created this 5 x 5 card using Stamping Up’s Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series paper, gold foil and Karen Burniston’s new Happy Birthday die and Cake Trims die (the little hearts and the gold trim.)  The words were cut from some white card stock and sponged with Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Powder Pink inks.

As always with Karen’s dies, the magic happens inside the card!  This Cake Pop up is so easy to put together (big plus) and makes such a great card.  I used the same papers on the inside and the little hearts in the paper matched up perfectly with the die.

It’s very flat when it collapses which makes it easy to mail.  Hugs, Fran
