Naughty or Nice?

It’s always nice to see the monthly designer challenge for Karen Burniston Pop Up dies! This month the challenge is to use a stocking.

I used the Stocking die and Christmas Animals to decorate the front. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, Santa Paws. I used a die from Gingerbread House Tiny Add Ons to die cut the sentiment.

Inside, the stocking is filled with the mouse and his friend. The Fireplace Add on is the border across the top. I used the Holiday Charms for the branches in the stocking and the Winter Charms for the Tree and snowflake. The Surprise Cube has the little stars.

Lots of fun with this challenge! Make sure to check out all the other designer’s cards. Karen’s video will be posted on Wednesday. Hugs, Fran

My card uses the Character Add ons 2 and Tiny Gnomes.

This is a large card – 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. I used the Tiny Gnomes, Crosshatch Circles and the Merry Christmas with the new Shadow to create the front.

I also added the gingerbread and candies from the new Gingerbread Tiny House Add-ons. The large, red circle is the flap to hold the card shut.

The sentiment was done in brown to mimic gingerbread.

Inside has Mrs. Claus baking away! I used the Bitty Ball with Character Add-ons 2 to create her and the Gingerbread Tiny House Add-ons with the Tiny House die to make her Gingerbread house.

She also has a tray of gingerbread cookies.

Here is the Gingerbread House.

There are more Tiny Gnomes celebrating with her and the word Celebrate curved around the circle.

Elves Abound

It’s starting to be the time of year when everyone is getting ready for the Holidays. On the front of this card, I used the reindeer from Karen Burniston’s Holiday Animals, gifts from Gnome and Santa and the Crosshatch Circle dies for a simple panel.

Inside all the elves are wrapping presents on the Evergreen Pivot Panel!

The colors make this card pop! :).

It was a happy surprise that they fit so well on the Evergreen Pivot! You should try it! Hugs, Fran

Snowman Scene

Here’s a cute Slimline box card with little snowmen celebrating the season. You can find the snowmen in the Snowmen dies from Karen Burniston. I used all 110 pound card stock on this card and it’s very sturdy. The center was die cut using the Long Rectangle Slimline dies with the Long Nature Edges die in front and back. The frame around the opening is 3 layers and adds a lot of stability.

You can see the dimension here. The sentiment is a strip from Simon Says Stamp Reverse Holiday.

Hopefully this shows you the construction. The front and back are 4 x 11 white card stock scored from each end at 1/2 inch and 1 inch. It was fun to make! Hugs, Fran

Deck the Halls

Slimline cards are so much fun! There’s a lot of room to decorate :). I started with the new slimline dies from Karen Burniston (Long Rectangle Crosshatch) and decorated the front with the new Holiday Charms.

The sentiment is from Word Set 3 Holiday Greetings. The words are ornaments are built up with additional card stock.

Inside is the Katherine Label popping up with a branch and ornament. So fun to watch it move! Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston and Pear Blossom

Today the Karen Burniston Design Team is working with Pear Blossom Press to create a fun, light up card! And there are prizes! I started with a plaid stamp on red card stock and some darling gingerbread men from the Christmas Charms die set.

I stacked the gingerbread men 3 high to give them some dimension and punched a 2 1/2″ circle punch from the red to make a “plate.”

Inside I used the Ice Cream Sundae die and the Castle to create a gingerbread scene. The Train and Train Elements dies create the bottom. To do the fun lights, the Press are is in the bottom left and the string goes up to the windows. These are fun and easy lights to use because one battery holds 3 lights – and it’s all ready to use! (No copper tape!)

So you just press on the circle and the castle lights up!

Here’s the train bringing your presents! Too cute! Enjoy all the Karen Burniston / Pear Blossom Press creations!

More Coffee, Please

More coffee cards using the Karen Burniston Coffee die and lots of cup coffee cup images!  These cards were inspired by Kelly Booth who sent me a darling card with coffee cups framed in a rectangle.  I changed mine up a bit – but the basic idea is hers!

I used the KB Crosshatch rectangle to make my rectangle and stacked them 4 high to add some depth.  The Coffee Cups are an assortment from Prickly Pear and Hero Arts.  I was coloring with my Copics one night and then decided to make them into cards!  The sentiment is Stampin UP.

It’s a very merry cup of coffee!

Again, this die can also hold a gift card so I need to head to my local coffee shop and grab a few!

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros November Challenge – Christmas and Holiday Cards

Are you getting ready for Christmas?  The Paper Pros team is and we have some ideas for you!  I made this cute 5 x 5 card using the Karen Burniston Christmas Animals die and a discontinued paper from Stampin Up that has a wonderful copper shine to it!  My Rudolf has a bright gem stone nose and a wreath (which is included in the die set.)

Inside is the KB Coffee Pop Up die decorated with a snowflake and another Rudolf!  I used copper foil paper to accent the coffee cup.

This is a great die for the holidays (or anytime!) because it holds a gift card.  Such a nice way to wish someone a Happy Holidays!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Designer November Challenge – Christmas Tree

Oh Christmas Tree!  Today the KB Design Team is charing cards made with the Karen Burniston Christmas Tree die!  I started with a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card.  I used one of the negative space trees and embossed it with the Stampin Up Tin embossing folder.  The sentiment is the KB Merry Christmas die.

Inside is the tree being decorated by the little mice in the Karen Burniston Christmas Animals die set.

I die cut 4 mice so I could sandwich them at the end of the trees.

That way you see them no matter which way the card is turned.

Then I decided to make a more elegant tree card.  This uses the Merry Christmas word die in Copper foil to match the foil in the Stampin Up Designer Series paper.

Inside I made a copper and white tree decorated with copper trim and sequins.

The ends and tree skirt are also copper.

Such a wonderful die!  Hope you’ve enjoyed these cards.  Don’t forget to check out the Karen Burniston blog on Wednesday where you can see all the designer Christmas tree cards!  Hugs, Fran
