Karen Burniston Design Team December Challenge

My inky creation for this month’s KB Design Team Challenge is features the Karen Burniston Tag Book and the Merry Christmas word die.  The little snowmen are from the Mama Elephant Snowman Agenda.  I used Distressed Oxides to make the snowy background.

Inside the snowmen are playing across the Tag Book!

Here’s a close up of them.  I added a few on the outside edges and the hinges.

It’s such a great die!  While this one can be mailed, I’m tying it to a package.  Make sure to check out all the design team’s cards tomorrow on Karen’s blog!  Hugs, Fran

Christmas Tags

So I thought I’d share with you what I’ve been up to while visiting my mother!  Since I can’t haul all my crafting supplies with me, I chose to take some cute images and my Copic markers so I could color while on my visits.  Then when I’m home, I make them into Christmas tags using Karen Burniston’s Tag Book die – just the tag part.  This tag uses a digi image from 2CuteInk and the wreath from Stampin Up’s Wondrous Wreath.  I put the little elf face up on a Mini Action Wobbler.  The berries are made with Red Berry Nuvo drops.

His glasses are coated with Glossy Accents – so cute!  Most of these tags were stamped on Xpress Blending Card and backed with Stampin Up’s Heavy white card stock.

These images are from Simon Says Stamp Christmas Squad and the snow bank is made with Karen Burniston’s Nature Edges.  The ornaments are covered with the Berry red Nuvo drops and the star is coated with Glossy Accents.

Here’s a Riley the Moose tag – Carrying Tree – paired up with some Stampin Up Quilted Christmas DSP.

And here’s a Simon Says Stamp tag using Christmas Cats with Copics and more Quilted Christmas paper.

And here I used Prisma color pencils and Gamsol on Crumb Cake card stock.  The ribbons I used are all out of my stash.

The Tag Book die is an absolute favorite of mine!  So many uses!  I’ll share some more when I return to my computer 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros December Challenge – Let’s Twist

The December Paper Pros challenge is “Let’s Twist” so of course I had to grab my Karen Burniston Twist Panel die and make some Christmas cards.  I started with the cute Riley image, Christmas Wreath.  I colored the moose twice with Copics and paper pieced his head so it pops up through the wreath.  The background paper is Stampin Up’s Be Merry DSP (from the main catalog.)  And the sentiment is a Riley sentiment from Moose Sayings 1.

But as with all of the KB Dies – the magic happens within!  Inside I used the amazing Twist Panel die and the Riley Elf Riley image.  The elves pop right out of the card when opened!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll check out what the other Pros have created for this challenge.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge – Trees Please

The December Challenge for the Karen Burniston Design Team is Trees Please.  I started with a 6 x 6 card front featuring Stampin Up’s Year of Cheer Designer paper, a foil snowflake, Snowflake sentiments stamp set and white Glimmer paper.  Everything is edged in Gold Foil paper.  and see the scallop edging on the right side – remember that 🙂   The sentiment is embossed in gold and accented with silver thread and a gold facetted gem.

When you open the card…………….

The Tree Pop Up is snowy white with gold accents.  The gold trim around the base of the tree is from the Snowman Twist Circle die and the straight scallop is from the Tag Book die.  Fun!

The tree pieces were done with a beaded embossing paste and dots mask.  My jar was almost empty and I really had to scrape to finish the project!  But the sparkle was worth it.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you’ll enjoy all the other team member’s projects too!  Hugs, Fran

Happy Winter Tag Book Tag

Oh goodness, I’ve been gone for a long time!  So here you go – a post and an explanation!  This cute card uses Karen Burniston’s new Tag Book die turned so that it’s a vertical tag.  I used Stampin Up’s the beautiful Year of Cheer DSP adhered to the retired brushed gold card stock,  along with a Gold foil snowflake and the Snowflake Sentiment stamp set to decorate the front.  After covering the front of the Tag Book with the DSP, I added a foil snowflake, gold thread, then a white Glimmer paper snowflake, and a silver Faceted Gem.  The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder, then punched out with the Everyday Label punch.  The top is tied off with the Gold Metallic Edge ribbon. Sparkle!

The Tag Book drops open (like a tag!)  I’ve die cut the center of the two little squares and used the trim piece to sandwich the snowflake from the KB Charm set on a piece of clear fishing string and finished the inside off with a snowman from her Snowman Twist Circle die.  To make his little scarf, I die cut the hat band 4 times and pieced it together.  The die cut words are from the Winter Words die. The tag is finished off with a loop of gold floss that is long enough to go through both top circles on the closed tag so you can hang it on your package.

Here’s a close up of the details and also a better idea of the actual color!  All the sparkle was really keeping it from photographing correctly 🙂

If you’re still reading, my mother has been sick and I am taking this time to spend it with her.  I will continue to post here but it will be sporadic.  Thanks for understanding and I hope you’ll continue to check back.  Hugs always, Fran

Snowflake Sentiment Christmas Tree

There’s something about this gold paper that makes everything beautiful!  It’s called Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series paper and each piece has a metallic foil design.  Here I added a gold embossed sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments and a gold snowflake,  It’s a 4 1/2 x 6 card.

Inside is the Christmas Tree Pop Up by Karen Burniston using a gold foil Snowflake doily as a tree skirt.  The tree is decorated with gold ornaments (included with the die!)

Very simple, very shiny!  Hope you enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros – Holiday Cards

Today is the Paper Pro Monthly Challenge – Holiday Cards!  I chose to use Beachy Little Christmas to make an untraditional Christmas card.  The card stock and Designer paper are Marina Mist.  I stamped the tree and the shells in Momento Tux black and colored them with Copic markers.  The front panel is die cut with a stitched rectangle die.  The shells are covered with Glossy Accents and Dazzling Details.

It’s hard to see the sparkle but in real life – it sparkles!  But the fun happens when you open the card!

Inside I used Karen Burniston’s Twist Panel Pop Up die.  Each little beach house is colored in the same colors from the front and the surf boards are covered in Glossy Accents and Dazzling Details.  The cute banners across the top sport the little shells.

Make sure to check out the other Holiday Cards by the Paper Pros.  Hugs, Fran

Smitten

Here’s a fun 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 Christmas card using the new set in the Holiday mini called Smitten Mitten.  The set has a matching die that makes cute mittens with all sorts of patterns and accessories.  I used the knit trim across the top and a snowflake to decorate.  The sentiment is from Snowflake Sentiments and die cut using Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label die in white and Pool Party. The patterned paper is Stamping Ups Quilted Christmas Cardstock pack.

And inside is Karen Burniston’s Snowman Twist Circle die and her Winter Animals dies.  I used the penguins to make a scene with the Nature’s Edges die – penguins making snowmen with the snowman watching.  What a fun card!

There’s still time to join me on October 7th for my World Card Making Day Christmas Stamp a Stack.  Check here for more information.  Hugs, Fran
