From Frame to Card

There’s a really cute frame in the Spring Mini (page 11) that I changed into a card.  It uses the Heart a Flutter bundle – so cute!  Their frame was backed with chalkboard so I used the chalkboard technique to make this card.  I embossed the sentiment white white embossing powder and used a sponge dauber to apply white craft ink around the edges and on the image.  Then I took a paper towel and rubbed most of it away.  It leaves a “chalky” look behind.  I drew the line around the edge with a white gel pen.  A white pencil or crayon would also work for this technique.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – You are Loved, Hearts a Flutter
card stock – Basic Black, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink – Versamark, Real Red, Primrose Petals, Pool Party
Etc – Hearts a Flutter Framelits, white gel pen,  Pool Party button,  Pool Party Bakers Twine

Hugs, Fran

Winged Amore

I won this Pop N Cuts insert – Winged Hearts – on Karen Burniston’s blog I am not left handed!  (Did you hear me screaming?)  It works in the Pop N Cuts Dress Form base and I used it to make this Valentine.  Because of the direction of the Stampin Up base, I cut the ends off of the piece for the insert and reversed the direction so that it would open correctly.   ETA: I am crazy!  It works perfectly as is! Then I made a shaker frame for the heart.  Kind of fun to have it pop out and shake at the same time.  The beautiful More Amore Designer Series paper fit perfectly on the front – like it was made for this card.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Delightful Decorations, You are Loved
card stock – Basic Gray, Real Red, Pool Party, Primrose Petals, More Amore DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Heart Sizzlet, Pop N Cuts Dress Form Base and Winged Hearts, Winged Hearts die, micro beads, Scalloped Border punch, Fan embossing folder, Full Heart punch

Thanks again, Karen, for the blog candy!  Hugs, Fran

Regional Make and Takes

We went to the Louisville Regionals this weekend – fun, fun, fun!  The make and takes focused on the Holiday Mini set You Are Loved.  The first one was this –

The “Love” was done with markers.  It looks intimidating but it ended up being easy.

The second card is pretty too – except I didn’t follow directions   “Stamp off” means just that – and I didn’t do it!.  I said it to myself as we were stampin and chatting but I didn’t even listen to myself!  So the grid on this card was suppose to be stamped off.  And if I had not told you, you wouldn’t have known!

(Okay, you might have known!)  Check out the cute pin –

Stampin’ Up puts on the best events!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
