Chilly and Hoppy

Chilly 03

Today is Challenge day for the Karen Burniston Design Team!  This month we were challenged to use the characters – Chilly, Hoppy and Poppy!  On this project I used Chilly to decorate a jar for gift giving.  There are 6 Chillies around this blue Bell jar and some sweet snowflakes from Karen’s Garden Bench die.  I added rhinestones so he could have some bling.

I used Stampin Up’s Oh My Goodies to make the label for the top which matches the  Deco Label Collection Framelits – that were designed by Karen!  Stamped in Real Red and then again in Basic Black, the center is punch with an oval punch and popped up.  I tied the rim with some Real Red cotton ribbon.  Then I filled the jar with peppermints!

Hoppy 03

Next I made a card using Stampin Up’s new In Colors and Flowerpot Designer Series paper. Again I used Oh My Goodies and the Deco Label Collection for the front. The edges of the card are done using two of Karen’s Agatha edges.

Hoppy 03 inside

And inside is Hoppy on Karen’s Lorna Label PopUp.  He’s sitting by his pond with a Stampin’ Up’s Just Sayin die cut with the Chalk Talk dies.  Hoppy comes with his own lily pad and flies!  I attached the flies to some fishing line and mounted them between the lily pads.

The flower is from Stampin Up’s Flower Patch (that also has a matching Framelit set.)  Hoppy is done in Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz.  His “pond” is in Lost Lagoon.  Hope you are enjoying meeting the characters!  Check out the rest of the gang by visiting Karen’s Facebook page and seeing what the rest of the team has created!  And come back tomorrow to see what’s going on with Poppy!  Hugs, Fran

Well Worded Friends

Well Worded 01

Well Worded has a cute mustache and a framelit to match!  I wrote the sentiment out in My Digital Studio, leaving a space for the mustache, and added to the front of this 5 x 5 card.

And here are the Pop It Ups friends by Karen Burniston to celebrate – complete with their own mustaches from the Props collection!  So what was the question?

Life in the Forest

Starting out the week with a funny card! The front is Just Sayin and Life in the Forest.

Doesn’t he looked shocked!  This card is for a very special person who will (I hope) appreciate the humor.

The inside features Karen Burniston’s Garden Bench insert and Tree Thinlits along with all the little creatures and their reactions!  I used her floating floor template for the base.  You can find the template here.  The talk bubbles were done in MDS.

Stamp Sets – Just Sayin, Life in the Forest
Card stock – Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, In Color Pattern pack

Life in the Forest is another one of those sets that I purchase just for this one idea!  I’m going to have to put my brain to the test now and see what else I can do with it!  Hugs, Fran
