From Frame to Card

There’s a really cute frame in the Spring Mini (page 11) that I changed into a card.  It uses the Heart a Flutter bundle – so cute!  Their frame was backed with chalkboard so I used the chalkboard technique to make this card.  I embossed the sentiment white white embossing powder and used a sponge dauber to apply white craft ink around the edges and on the image.  Then I took a paper towel and rubbed most of it away.  It leaves a “chalky” look behind.  I drew the line around the edge with a white gel pen.  A white pencil or crayon would also work for this technique.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – You are Loved, Hearts a Flutter
card stock – Basic Black, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink – Versamark, Real Red, Primrose Petals, Pool Party
Etc – Hearts a Flutter Framelits, white gel pen,  Pool Party button,  Pool Party Bakers Twine

Girls Night Out

It’s a Girls Night Out – so get dressed up in your finery and we’ll hit the town!

Obviously we’re going somewhere fancy!  The flower arrangements here are lovely.

This is a “double wide” version of the Pop N Cuts Dress Form! It makes a 5 x 7 card.  I’ve included the video explaining how to do this technique – and another on how to use the Dress Form – by the amazing designer of this die, Karen Burniston,.  Make sure to watch her do her magic!

Supplies
Card stock – Basic Black, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Sycamore Street DSP, Brushed Gold, In Color Patterned pack
Etc –  Pop N Cuts base, Dress Form insert, Paper Flowers, Basic Pearls, 1 1/4, 3/4 and1/2 circle punches, gold thread, Little Labels punch pack, 1/4 square punch, Hearts a Flutter Framelit, Bird punch, Basic Gray/Black Two-Toned ribbon, 1 1/4 Scallop Circle punch, My Digital Studio, Oval punch

And here’s the videos.  You’re going to love these!  Hugs, Fran

Snowy Stacks of Wishes

I needed a “themed” thank you card for some wonderful ladies who got stuck in the snow with me last week.  Stacks of Wishes is one of the hostess sets in the Spring Mini – and with a little tweaking – it was exactly what I wanted to say.  Starting with the Pop N Cuts base (love it!) I used the Label insert and added lots of snowflakes with the retired Snow Flurry die.  Then I used Stampin Write Markers to ink up just the top part of the stamp set.  Obviously the butterfly wasn’t going to cut it on this card!  Then I inked just the “thank you” for the bottom.  The Delicate Details Lace Tape finished off the card.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Stacks of Wishes, Friendly Phrases, Snow Swirled
card stock – Marina Mist, Subtles Pattern, Whisper White, Silver Gimmer
Stampin Write Markers – Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy
Etc – Delicate Details Lace Tape, Glitter Brad, Snow Flurry die (retired), Pop N Cuts Base (130099), Label insert die, Northern Flurry embossing folder

The kindness of strangers is amazing – pass it on!  Hugs, Fran

Birthday Dress

My Birthday to my sister!  Actually, it’s not for a few days, but I saw her this week and was able to give her this card.  I used the Pop N Cuts Dress form die – ’cause I love it – and made her a garden scene.  The banner is held up on strips of card stock that I inserted through slits on shelf.  If you look closely at the watering can you will see water spraying from it.  That’s fishing line coated in glue and covered with Dazzling Diamonds.  The pearls on the dress are Basic pearls colored with a Sharpie – and the collar on the dress is a scallop punch.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Feel Goods (Spring Mini), Up, Up & Away, Itty Bitty Banners, Best of Everything
card stock – Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party, Pacific Point, International Bazaar Designer Series Paper, Brushed Silver, Crumb Cake
Ink – Pool Party, Pacific Point
Stampin Write Markers – Pool Party, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango
Etc – Pop N Cuts Dress Form Base and insert, Flower Fusion Sizzlit,  Oval Framelits, 1 3/4 Scallop circle punch, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 1″ circle punches, Small Oval punch, Pool Party ribbon, Pool Party Baker’s Twine, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Basic pearls, Bitty Banner Framelits, fishing line, Dazzling Diamonds

Happy Birthday, Mary!  Hugs, Fran

Winged Love

Guess what?  I was wrong!  The Winged Hearts die fits perfectly in the Stampin Up Dress Form Base.  Sometimes I just need more coffee and good thump on the head!  For this Valentine I pulled out lots of stamp sets.  Did you know that Seasonal Sayings (Holiday Mini – front of card) is still available?  Page 36 of the Spring Mini has a list of everything that is being carried over.  This paper is fun – notice how I was able to use one of the hearts on the paper to “layer” onto the Be My Valentine sentiment!  Too much fun!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Seasonal Sayings, Petite Pairs, Delightful Dozens
card stock – Pool Party, More Amore DSP, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Neutral Paper pack
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Pop N Cuts Winged Hearts insert and die, Pop N Cuts Dress Form base die, Hearts Framelits, rhinestones, Itty Bitty Holiday Shapes punch, Heart punch

Love poppin up all over the place!  Hugs, Fran

Little Hellos

These little 3 x 3s are cased from some shown on stage at Leadership.  I think the Oh Hello set will be a favorite of mine – the images are so fun to use.  Having little note cards around is a must for me.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Oh Hello (Spring Mini)
card stock – Whisper White
Stampin Write Markers – So Saffron, Pool Party, Early Espresso
Etc – Linen thread, Bakers Twine, Needlepoint Border embossing folder

Can you see the embossed border on the bottom of the cards?  It adds just a little sweetness to the cards.  Hugs, Fran

Hearts a Flutter Set

I cased the main element off a card that Diana Gibbs cased from Glenda Travelstead – it’s a circle of casing!- and turned it into a 3 x 3 gift card and gift bag.  Now I have a set for Valentines day.  When running the gift bag through the Big Shot, I used no tabs and it was still pretty snug.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Hearts a Flutter, Fabulous Phrases
card stock – Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla
Ink – Early Espresso
Etc – Adorning Accents embossing folder, Very Vanilla seam binding, Flower trim, Artisan Kit lace, Early Espresso ribbon, Hearts a Flutter framelits

Thanks Di (and Glenda!) for a cute idea.  Hugs, Fran

Valentine Treats

These little treats are for my daughter’s friends in her dorm.  They are easy to put together – which is great since I need to make quite a few!  The “cover” is a 1 1/2 x 7 1/2 piece of More Amore Designer Series paper folded in half.  Use a 1 1/4″ square punch to make the cut out at the bottom.  Add a 1 x 3″ strip to the top using the same punch at the bottom.  Note – you can hand cut these if you’d rather!  Use the Sizzlit Heart to cut out a Real Red heart and layer the stamped image over top.  Attach with dimensionals.  Fill a skinny cello bag with M&Ms.  You will need to leave almost an inch empty at the top.  Staple the top to the inside of the cover and use glue dots to hold the cover down on the front and back.  I was able to get 17 of these treat bags from one bag of M&Ms (and I didn’t eat any while filling them – promise!)

Supplies
Stamp Set – Happy Heart
card stock – More Amore DSP, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals
Ink – Pool Party
Etc – Heart Sizzlit, 1 1/4″ square punch, 1 x 8 cello bags, Owl punch (for the heart on the stamped image)

The box holding the treats is made from the Fancy Favor die.  I die cut it in Real Red and then using the More Amore DSP.  I trimmed about a 1/2″ off the top and all the bottom flaps of the Designer Series paper and adhered it to the Real Red before I adhered the box together.  I decorated it with the same heart combination from the treat bags.

Have fun!  Hugs, Fran

Winged Amore

I won this Pop N Cuts insert – Winged Hearts – on Karen Burniston’s blog I am not left handed!  (Did you hear me screaming?)  It works in the Pop N Cuts Dress Form base and I used it to make this Valentine.  Because of the direction of the Stampin Up base, I cut the ends off of the piece for the insert and reversed the direction so that it would open correctly.   ETA: I am crazy!  It works perfectly as is! Then I made a shaker frame for the heart.  Kind of fun to have it pop out and shake at the same time.  The beautiful More Amore Designer Series paper fit perfectly on the front – like it was made for this card.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Delightful Decorations, You are Loved
card stock – Basic Gray, Real Red, Pool Party, Primrose Petals, More Amore DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Heart Sizzlet, Pop N Cuts Dress Form Base and Winged Hearts, Winged Hearts die, micro beads, Scalloped Border punch, Fan embossing folder, Full Heart punch

Thanks again, Karen, for the blog candy!  Hugs, Fran
