Butterfly Heart

Inspired by Pinterest – a heart full of butterflies.  To make this card, I used the Heart Framelit – but instead of die cutting, I traced the heart shape onto my card stock very lightly.  Then I die cut lots of butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and glued them in the heart keeping them all inside the line.  The Embosslits are great because they cut and emboss in one step.  Once they are placed just erase the line.  I even gave my sentiment a rainbow feel!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Love You More
Card Stock – Whisper White, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Delightful Daffodil, Wisteria Wonder, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Heart Framelit, Beautiful Wings Embosslit

Think of all the shapes you could do with this idea!  I have lots of butterflies left over – so you might have to put up with butterflies for a few days.  Hugs, Fran

Pop Love

This is the Pop It Up Hearts Pivot die paired with Follow My heart.  I had some left over pieces from this card and just couldn’t resist making a pivot card for someone special.  Doesn’t the Red Glimmer paper look lovely?  And the keyhole is the Silver Foil paper.

Here it is open – with a Silver Foil key hanging from some Baker’s Twine.

The Red Glimmer frame was done by cutting with two Framelits at the same time.  It makes such a nice, tiny frame!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Follow My Heart, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Hardwood
Card stock – Pink Pirouette, Red Glimmer, Basic Gray Smokey Slate, Whisper White, Subtles Paper pack
Ink – Basic Gray
Stampin Write Markers – Real Red, Basic Gray
Etc – Heart Pivot, Word Window punch, Baker’s Twine

I hope you’re enjoying the Pivot cards!  Hugs, Fran

Watercolor Hearts

Oh my bleeding heart!  I saw this idea on Pinterest – but I did the “foundation” of it in a very different way and got a VERY different look.  The one I saw used watercolors on smooth paper.  I used reinker on watercolor paper.  My card turned out much darker (much, much darker!)  I punched the hearts out of watercolor paper and glued them down.  After dried I used reinkers in the the lids of the stamp pads and an aquapainter to start the ink flowing.  The sequins are colored with Copic markers – which worked very well.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Perfect Pennants
Card stock – Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, watercolor paper
Ink – Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Melon Mambo
Etc – Aquapainter, sequins, makers, Envelope Punch board (to round the corners), Heart Framelits, Large Pearl

Try it and let me know how it works for you!  Hugs, Fran

Love You to the Moon (and back!)

Are you working on Valentines?  Here’s one for you – Love you to the Moon.  And I pretty much cased my own card from here to do this one   I used Gorgeous Grunge in Real Red, Smokey Slate and Basic Black for the background and added some washi tape.  The moon spots are touched with Crystal Effects.

The inside has more washi tape (non-SU gift from my daughter) and the sentiment from Delightful Dozen.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Love You to the Moon, Gorgeous Grunge, Delightful Dozen
Card stock – Real Red, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink – Real Red, Smokey Slate, Basic Black
Etc – Clip essentials, washi tape, Banner Framelit, Neutral Candy Dots

It’s fast and easy!  Hugs, Fran

Following My Heart

I saw something similar to this on Pinterest and decided to use the layout to make it with SU supplies.  What I liked about it was using a “grain” background with 3-d items – so I inked up Hardwood from the mini.  This is a great background stamp – truly a “must have!”  The largest heart is something on my workspace from another project and the scallop bottom has a layer of Fancy Foil vellum over it.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Follow My Heart, Hardwood
Card Stock – Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Subtle Paper Pack, Basic Gray, Red Glimmer
Ink – Basic Gray
Stampin Write Markers – Basic Gray, Real Red
Etc – Spiral Rose die, Tasteful Trim die, Basic Rhinestones, Baker’s Twine, Heart Framelits, Epic Day Washi tape

The depth of the rose will make this a “hand it to them” kind of card.  It could be mailed in a padded envelope – but this one’s staying local!   Hugs, Fran

Life in the Forest

Starting out the week with a funny card! The front is Just Sayin and Life in the Forest.

Doesn’t he looked shocked!  This card is for a very special person who will (I hope) appreciate the humor.

The inside features Karen Burniston’s Garden Bench insert and Tree Thinlits along with all the little creatures and their reactions!  I used her floating floor template for the base.  You can find the template here.  The talk bubbles were done in MDS.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Just Sayin, Life in the Forest
Card stock – Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, In Color Pattern pack
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Island Indigo
Etc – Pop It Up Garden Bench and Tree Thinlits, Chevron punch, MDS 2, markers

Life in the Forest is another one of those sets that I purchase just for this one idea!  I’m going to have to put my brain to the test now and see what else I can do with it!  Hugs, Fran

Petal Parade

Snow, snow, snow and freezing temperatures mean it’s time to break out Spring colors and look forward to Sale a Bration!  This is Petal Parade – a free set with a $50 purchase – and the technique is masking.  I stamped the 2 largest, solid images on post it notes and masked them off as I added the other colors.  (Start with the largest images and work your way down to the smallest)

The bottom of the card is embossed with Adorning Accents.  It adds a nice, subtle touch.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Petal Parade
Card Stock – Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink – Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, Calypso Coral
Etc – Crisp Cantaloupe ribbon, Adorning Accents embossing folder, Basic Pearls

I can’t for the life of me figure out which set I used for the sentiment!  Does anyone recognize it?  Hugs, Fran

Here’s another card featuring Another Great Year on the front and using the same technique that I showed you here to do the banners.  The only difference is that I colored the “loops” before I added the Dazzling Details.  The card base is the SU exclusive Pop N cuts base die with Birthday Basic Designer Series paper. There are lots of fun prints in this one!

Inside I used Karen Burniston’s new Pop It Up die – which work perfectly inside any size card – called Lots of Pop.  The owl is the owl punch (!) and the presents on the floor are just square punches.  They are mainly there to hold up the balloons because they are on wires.

“Happy” is from Countless Sayings II – a photopolymer stamp set.  I’m eating my words on these photopolymer stamps.  They are fun to use.  Change – it takes me a while

Etc – Pop N Cuts base, Owl Builder punch, small oval punch, Pop It Up Lots of Pop Framelit, square punch, Dazzling Details

Now to clean up the mess around me – and maybe try to stick to one stamp set at a time for a while.  Maybe.  Hugs, Fran

More Love You More

Love You More and Sweet Sorbet DSP to make a soft, pretty Valentine.  On the front, I stamped the sentiment and colored it with a Pool Party Marker (which is hard to see!)  Then I die cut it with the Hearts Framelit.

Add a Cute Clip and some Candy Dots.

On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s new Lucy Label Pop It Up die.  You can make any size card with this die!

On the flagpole I attached banners from Banner Blast – a new set for Sale a bration  – and some banners cut with the Banner Framelits.  The little bird has several popped out details (and a Candy Dot!)

The wing is one layer popped out and the tail is three.  I adhered the point of the tail down and popped out the top.  (Hope that makes sense!)

I love how the Lucy Label give me several areas to pop!  On the “Love” I used a Calypso Coral Stampin Write Marker to make the “you” stand out.

On the bottom I die cut a heart frame using the Heart Framelits to create an area to write in.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Love You More, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Banner Blast
Card Stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Calypso Coral
Etc – Lucy Label Pop It Up die (Karen Burniston), Heart Framelits, Candy Dots, Banner punch, Banner Framelits, Word Window punch, Baker’s Twine

That’s a lot of LOVE!  Hugs, Fran

MDS, Ecutter and Spring

One of the fun things about My Digital Studio 2 (MDS2) is that most of the images are in SVG format.  This means that another way of using them is with an ecutter.  (I use a Sizzix Eclips) And resizing them is a snap!   I used a balloon image from Up, Up and Away to create this card.  I cut it out of the new Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper that will be FREE during Sale abration – grab a bunch of it!

The sentiment is from Banner Greetings.  This is a hostess set – so hold a party during SAB and you’ll own 2/3 of this card

Supplies
Stamp Set – Banner Greetings
Card stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – ecutter (I use the Sizzix Eclips) Pansy punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, banner punch, 1/2 circle punch, Summer Starfruit Stampin Write Marker

Aren’t you looking forward to SAB?  I think the Sweet Sorbet DSP is just beautiful!  Hugs, Fran
