Watercolor Hearts

Oh my bleeding heart!  I saw this idea on Pinterest – but I did the “foundation” of it in a very different way and got a VERY different look.  The one I saw used watercolors on smooth paper.  I used reinker on watercolor paper.  My card turned out much darker (much, much darker!)  I punched the hearts out of watercolor paper and glued them down.  After dried I used reinkers in the the lids of the stamp pads and an aquapainter to start the ink flowing.  The sequins are colored with Copic markers – which worked very well.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Perfect Pennants
Card stock – Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, watercolor paper
Ink – Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Melon Mambo
Etc – Aquapainter, sequins, makers, Envelope Punch board (to round the corners), Heart Framelits, Large Pearl

Try it and let me know how it works for you!  Hugs, Fran

  1. Really beautiful card, love the way the shades of red and pink kind of waterfall over the hearts. The sequences add just the right amount of bling. Fabulous!!!!!

  2. Neat card. The colors are very vivid. Did you glue the hearts on then use the aqua painter to let the background color flow down the base? It looks so perfect.

  3. Thanks, Patsy.  I used regular glue to glue the hearts down first.  Then I started at the top with the reinkers.  It is very vivid – not what I was expecting, but I like it.  Hugs, Fran

  4. Very different but pretty card…loving the died sequins and great colors over the hearts.
