Mr and Mrs Chilly

Chilly 02 front

The front of this 5 x 5 card features the new Back to Black Designer Series Paper and the set Something to Say.  The inside has Mr and Mrs Chilly in their bridal splendor sitting on top of Karen Burniston’s new Lorna Label Pop it Ups die.  If you look closely, you’ll see that she is sporting a bridal veil and he is wearing his glitter glasses!  To get the different paper on the Lorna Label, I simply cut the DSP off of the label, flipped it over and used the reverse side! To make the writing surface for the inside, just die cut a large heart to carry out the theme.

Snapshot

Snapshot 01

Snapshot (133812) is a single stamp on page 167 of the catalog.  I paired it up with the On Film framelit and some of the Essential Wooden Elements.  I used Stazon to stamp on the word bubble.  Hint – use a tiny bit of adhesive to stick the wooden element to your grid paper.  Then you can use your Stamp a Ma Jig to place the words on it without it moving.

Snapshot 01 side

I stamped the camera twice and fussy cut the center piece to pop it up.

Chilly

This is Chilly – one of Karen Burniston’s new Character dies – on an Oval Accordion die.  You can see all the dies here. He’s decked out to play in the snow with his snappy scarf.  The sentiment is from Christmas Messages (131790/131793)which is still available!  It’s a great sentiment for this card

HBD2U

It’s bright, isn’t it?  I used the new Sizzix Thinlit dies, Little Letters, and the numbers from the File Tab Edgelit die to create this card.  File Tab Edgelits only has the numbers 1-3, so if you can use that combo you can combine it with the letters.  The Word bubble is from Age Awareness.

Supplies
Stamps – Age Awareness
Cardstock – Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Daffodil, Whisper White, Sweet Taffy DSP
Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black
Etc – Little Letters and File Tab Edgelit dies, retired arrow punch, Dotty embossing Folder, Strawberry Slush cotton ribbon, 1 3/4 circle punch, Word Bubble Framelit

I keep forgetting to order the new arrow punch!  Hugs, Fran

Here Comes the Bride

This card is a case of one of my own ballerina dress cards – altered to work for a bride.  I used Celebrate With Us from the Occasions Mini and a spray of small, silk flowers on the front of the exclusive – and soon to be retired!- Pop Up Card die.

Instead of a tutu, I made a long train of tulle.  You can see it better from the side –

I will sorely miss this die – but it will remain in my “stash” forever

Stamp Set – Celebrate With Us
Cardstock – Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Brushed Silver, Pink Pirouette DSP\
Ink – Rose Red
Etc – Dress Form die and framelits, Pink Pirouette ribbon, tulle, pearls, small flowers, Dazzling Details

This was made for a sweet bride -to- be’s shower – who’s big day is tomorrow!  Hugs, Fran

Fly Away

There are lots of things to celebrate at this time of year!  The Karen Burniston Designer Challenge Team was challenged this month to use the word “fly” as their inspiration.  I started with the inspirational sentiment from Really Good Greetings – thinking “graduation” – and did this card.

I paper pieced a hot air balloon and added it to the Lucy Label insert.  I love this insert because you can use it for anything!  The “bravo” is from  A Dozen Thoughts.  The Lace tape is retiring – hurry!  Then I added a little line of flags to help celebrate the big event.  Here’s a look at the “mechanics” of the card –

Supplies
Stamp Sets – A Dozen Thoughts, Really Good Greetings
Cardstock – Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Watercolor Wonder DSP
Ink – Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango
Etc – Lucy Label die, 1 3/4″ circle punch, Candy Dots, Doily tape, flag punch

Celebrating is a lot of fun!  Hugs, Fran

Zoo Babies

This card is a combination of several baby cards I’ve seen using this stamp set.  I chose to make it into a birthday card – a belated birthday card!  Unfortunately, I need lots of these.  This is an easy card – and an easy layout.  It’s great for show casing all kinds of images.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Zoo Babies, Remembering Your Birthday
Card stock – Basic Gray, Neutral DSP, Smokey Slate, Pool Party
Ink – Smokey Slate
Etc – Pennant die, 2 1/2 circle punch, ABC embossing folder, button, baker’s twine

I’m cleaning up my office today.  Between old and new – it’s a mess!  Hugs, Fran

Sneak Peek What’s Your Type Christmas

A Christmas idea is May!  This is What’s Your Type (available June 2nd) I used the small circle images and embossed the solid in gold and the stripes in silver.  (Do this one color at a time)  I embossed a piece of Brushed Gold using Petite Pairs and silver embossing powder.  Rhinestones and sequins finish it off. The ornament is a 1 3/8″ circle with the little scalloped square punch in Brushed Silver on top.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – What’s Your Type?, Petite Pairs
Cardstock – Brushed Silver, Brushed Gold, Whisper White
Ink – Versamark
Etc – Sequins, Rhinestones, 1 3/8 circle punch, Itty Bitty punch pack

Today is suppose to be our warmest yet – making it an odd day to show a Christmas card!  You might want to consider other colors   Hugs, Fran

Field Flowers

I’ve got several retiring set cards that I want to show you before the curtain goes down on these wonderful stamp sets.   This Field Flower card has several layers on the flowers and lots of Dazzling Details.  I should have taken a picture from the side – but each flower is stamped twice and cut apart.  The flowers are done in Crumb Cake and when I added the Dazzling Details the color became almost golden.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Field Flowers
Cardstock – Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Neutral DSP
Ink – Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Etc – Lace ribbon, Dazzling Details

Here are this week’s deals – and don’t forget Free Shipping through the 25th!  Hugs, Fran
