Celebrating Birthdays

Celebrate Today 01

We stamped a lot of birthday cards yesterday!  This one was inspired by one done by MandyPandy on Splitcoast.  I loved the angle on her card – and though I changed quite a bit about it – I kept the general layout.  And for yesterday we changed the Candy Dots to Salebration buttons!  Hugs, Fran

So Very Grateful

This card is a side-ways extended Circle Card Thinlit using So Very Grateful from the current mini catalog.  I stamped the image in Stazon and colored it with Stampin Write Markers and added a few pearl to the centers of some of the flowers.  The scallop on the side uses the Tasteful Trim die.

To make the extended card I cut my cardstock to 4 1/4 x 11 and placed it under the die – pulling the end up and over so that it doesn’t get cut.  This leaves the top part of the die empty.  Then I folded the left side on the score lines and scored again at 5 1/2.

I used a sentiment from Petite Pairs on the inside of the circle.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – So Very Grateful, Petite Pairs, My Friend
Cardstock – Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP (SA
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Markers – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Pear Pizzazz
Etc – Circle Card Thinlit, Summer Starfruit ribbon, Tasteful Trim die, pearls

The extended size really gives you a lot of room for your message!  Hugs, Fran

Geometrical

When I first get a new catalog I like to case my favorite cards – just to get the ideas flowing.  These cards are on page 10 of the Spring/Occasions/whatever it is called mini catalog.  They use the Geometrical stamp set.  I really like the top card – and the bottom turned out just okay.

But it was fun to start playing with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit!  (tip – place a piece of waxed paper between the paper and the die for easy release!)

Supplies
Stamp Set – Geometrical, Gorgeous Grunge
Card stock – Whisper White
Inks – Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, Smokey Slate, Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Hexagon Hive Thinlit, sequins, washi tape, black cord, sewing machine

Find time to stamp something today!  Hugs, Fran

Life in the Forest

Starting out the week with a funny card! The front is Just Sayin and Life in the Forest.

Doesn’t he looked shocked!  This card is for a very special person who will (I hope) appreciate the humor.

The inside features Karen Burniston’s Garden Bench insert and Tree Thinlits along with all the little creatures and their reactions!  I used her floating floor template for the base.  You can find the template here.  The talk bubbles were done in MDS.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Just Sayin, Life in the Forest
Card stock – Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, In Color Pattern pack
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Island Indigo
Etc – Pop It Up Garden Bench and Tree Thinlits, Chevron punch, MDS 2, markers

Life in the Forest is another one of those sets that I purchase just for this one idea!  I’m going to have to put my brain to the test now and see what else I can do with it!  Hugs, Fran

You Make Me Happy

Here’s another image from See Ya Later – a Sale a bration stamp set.  This one is on a Circle Thinlit card that I cut as an extended card.  I paired it with the SAB Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper.  To do the image, I inked the stamp in Crisp Cantaloupe and then used a Black Stampin Write Markers to go over part of the words.  I get a better image doing it this way.

I die cut the “thx” from the card leaving it as a see-through area of card.  Not a great idea.  The image has too many small pieces hanging down and was flimsy – so I added a piece of card stock behind it to give it more “oomph.”

The piece is die cut from the same Thinlit set – and then I stamped it!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – See Ya Later, Petite Pairs
card stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet, Pistachio Pudding
Etc – Circle Thinlit, 2 1/2 circle punch, Candy Dot

And a big thanks to Lois who let me know that the sentiment from yesterday is from Simply Sketched!  Hugs, Fran

Oh Hello Again

Here’s a Thinlit Flip card using Oh Hello and Postage Due with a little Gorgeous Grunge to spice things up!  The Designer Series paper is Venetian Romance.

I really cut this card twice – once in Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and then again using the DSP.  I made this an extended flip card by cutting the card 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and pulling the end through the Thinlit so it wouldn’t get cut.  This leaves a nice score line.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Oh Hello, Gorgeous Grunge, Postage Due
card stock – Very Vanilla, Venetian Romance, Crisp Cantaloupe
Ink – Soft Suede, Pistachio Pudding
Etc – Thinlits Label Flip die, Soft Suede ribbon

We stamped all day yesterday!  Thanks to everyone who came to the Very merry Christmas classes – it was fun!  Hugs, Fran

Miss You Already

This Designer Series paper is Afternoon Tea – so pretty!  I used it to make a circle flip card and to show off one of the greetings from Really Good Greetings.  This is an extra long flip card made with the Thinlit die.  To do this you cut your cardstock to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and pull the end over the thinlit instead of just laying the card stock underneath.  The thinlit makes a mark at the end – but doesn’t cut through because the card stock is on top.  You simply fold at this mark.

I put the inside sentiment from Lots of Thanks on the underneath side of the circle.  We will be making this card (and others!) at stamp club tomorrow

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Really Good Greetings, Lots of Thanks
card stock – Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Afternoon Tea, Silver Glimmer paper
Ink – Wisteria Wonder
Stampin Write Markers – Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana
Etc – Circle Thinlit die, 2 1/2 circle punch, Wisteria Wonder Chevron ribbon, Silver Ribbon, corner rounder, Small heart punch, Owl punch

Our Annual Garage Sale is next week!  I get to start cleaning out the garage today – my once a year cleaning (ha!)  Hugs, Fran

HO 3

Here’s an easy Flip card with Santa staring as the main guy for the season.  I used the Santa from Color Me Christmas, colored him with Stampin Write Markers and punched him out for the circle center of this Thinlit set.  The HO 3 is from A Banner Christmas.  But the Chevrons are the chevron punch – there are chevrons in the set;  I just wanted to see the difference using the punch.  They are much bigger!

The sentiment is a single stamp that coordinates with the photo cards in the Holiday Mini.  And since I didn’t mention it last time – the chevrons have a piece of Real Red behind them.  (Thanks, Leeca!)

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Color Me Christmas, A Banner Christmas, Be Very Merry
Card stock – Whisper White, Real Red, Silver Glimmer
Ink – Real Red, Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Markers – Real Red, Blush Blossom
Etc – Circle Thinlit flip die, 1 3/4 and 1 1/4 punch, Chevron punch, Dazzling Details (on the candy cane!)

Have a great day!  Hugs, Fran

A Banner Christmas

Here’s another Thinlit Label Frame card using A Banner Christmas from the Holiday Mini.  To make the banner “pop” I stamped it first in Old Olive and then again in Cherry Cobbler.  I cut out the Cherry Cobbler pieces omitting the little lines on the sides of the letters.  Layer them on the Old Olive banners – letting the Old Olive lines show.

I finished this off with some Season of Style Washi tape ad a button.

Supplies
Stamp Set – A Banner Christmas
Card stock – Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Season of Style DSP
Ink – Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler
Etc – Thinlit Label Frame die, Season of Style Washi tape, button, linen thread

Hugs, Fran
