{heart} Work of Art

Another Work of Art (isn’t that fun?) card today – this one with a cut out heart.  I lined this card with Tangerine Tango DSP and cut the heart with my ecutter.  Now, I know you’re asking yourself “why didn’t she just use a framelit?”  All I can say is that very often I miss the obvious!  End of story!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Work of Art (available June 2)
Cardstock – Whisper White, Tangerine Tango DSP
Ink – Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry
Etc – Should have been a Heart Framelit! Rhinestone

I have new stuff coming today and will post the new In Colors later on so you can see them.  Hugs, Fran

Mixed Bunch

I saw a card that I loved and re-did it using Stampin Up products!  This uses Mixed Bunch stamped on the background in Versamark and embossed in White.  For the flower, I embossed some Crumb Cake with the Distressed Dots folder and punched out some flowers (Blossom and pansy punches)  Then I added Linen Thread and some rhinestones colored with a Copic marker.  The XOXO is from the Circle Thinlit flip die.

Stamp – Mixed Bunch
Card stock – Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White
Ink – Versamark
Etc – Blossom and Pansy punches, white embossing powder, Circle Thinlit flip die, rhinestones, Neutral Button, Linen Thread, Distressed Dots embossing folder, scallop edge punch

Backyard Basic Trellis

It’s all retiring!  Yikes!  This card was inspired by one I saw on Splitcoast.  I used the same layout but changed the stamps and used the Framelits to die cut.  The other card had a beautiful tulip watercolored onto the front of the card.  The deep, side punch is a Martha Stewart punch that I used for a wedding invitation a year or two ago.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Backyard Basics, Blessings from heaven
Cardstock – Whisper White
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Markers – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Pool Party
Etc – Backyard Basics Framlits, MS punch, Dazzling Details

Don’t forget free shipping this week only!  Hugs, Fran

Hey There

There a fun tutorial on Splitcoast today – 3-D Word Dies. I used the Word Bubble framelits and Just Sayin to make a card following the directions.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Just Sayin
Cardstock – Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron
Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black
Etc – Copic markers (YR04, YR07, YR09), Word Bubble Framelits, Retro Fresh Washi Tape, Arrow clip, Star #2 die

Hop on over there and give it a try!  Hugs, Fran

Butterflies and Roses

Continue the fun!  I used the Karen Burniston’s Accordion Circle die again to create a Mother’s day card .  This card features the Spiral Rose die – expanded with the blossom punch – and the butterfly from Backyard Basics on the front.  The piece underneath the rose is from Daydream Medallions.  It looks so pretty on the Happy Watercolor paper.  The instructions for the spiral rose can be found here.

This is the card opened – The center sentiment is from Lots of Thanks – a great sentiment for my mom!  I continued with Daydream Medallions and butterflies.  To finish the card I covered the back with more Happy Watercolor DSP and put 2 butterflies so that the wings from the front are covered.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Backyard Basics, Lots of Thanks, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Cardstock – Smokey Slate, Whisper White, Happy Watercolor DSP
Ink – Smokey Slate, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – Karen Burniston Circle Accordion die and edges, Backyard Basics framelits, Spiral rose die, Blossom Punch, Daydream Medallion framelit

Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Smokey Slate is a great color combo!  Hugs, Fran

Two by Two

The Pop It Ups Challenge for April is Mamas and Babies!  For the “babies” part, I made a Circle Accordion card using the My Digital Studio image Two by Two.  I used my Sizzix Eclips to print and cut the image on Whisper White cardstock.  Then I colored it. (You could also color it in MDS then cut it out)

Here it is opened.  The sentiment is from Cuddles and Kisses and the paper is a retired Sale a bration DSP.  I added some little pre-made bows to the front and inside.  For the clouds in the sky, I die cut clouds from the Pop it u\Ups Garden bench and used them as masks and then air brushed the circle.  It would have been just as easy to adhere them to the sky but I wanted to try this technique

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Two By Two (MDS), Cuddles and Kisses
Cardstock – So Saffron, Whisper White, retired DSP
Ink – Bashful Blue
Etc – Circle Accordion Pop it Ups with Square with Circle edges, My Digital Studio, bows

I love making these accordion cards – and MDS has so many ways to expand my papercrafting – it’s a win-win!  Hugs, Fran

Anniversary Sailor

I cased this layout from one that was on a Leadership display board.  I changed some of the colors/cardstock – but kept the layout the same.  This uses the very fun stamp set Hello Sailor and the Hardwood background stamp – both from the current Occasions Mini.  I’ve decided that this background stamp can be used for anything!  *Here’s a tip for lining up banners under the circle image.  Put Dimensionals on the back of the circle but only remove the backing from the top one.  Stick it down – place the banners underneath and then remove the backings from the rest of the Dimensionals.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Hello Sailor, Hardwood
Cardstock – Basic Gray, Smokey Slate, Pacific Point, Whisper White
Ink – Basic Gray, Calypso Corsl
Etc – Banner Framelits, Starburst Framelits, 2 1/2 circle punch, small star punch

On the inside I stamped the “Perfect North” image.  It can be used for an anniversary, best friend,  co-worker – lots of people   Hugs, Fran

Cool Kids Fold

A friend and I were trying to figure out this fold that we saw on Pinterest.  It’s really 2 cards – one cut 5.5 x 8.5 and the other cut 5 1/4 x 4.  I used Cool Kids (because it hasn’t seen as much ink as it should!) and Peachy Keen to make the background design.  To make the “cut” on the front I marked the open side at 2 3/4 and then the top and bottom at 2 3/4.  Once this was cut, I die cut the opening with a Square Framelit.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Cool Kids, Peachy Keen, Yippee-Skippee
Cardstock – Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Ink – Jet black Stazon, Melon Mambo
Etc – Distressed Dots embossing fold, Sqaure Framelit, Neutral Button

I may go back and put a paper airplane on the front too.  Kind of looks like the poor kitty is playing with string!  Hugs, Fran

Another Lattice Card

Here’s another example of the Lattice die using the full die cut.  The outer die cut is the Window Frame Framelit.  It uses the same supplies as this card – just a variation (since this die has now come out of hiding!)  The tutorial for this card was featured in my newsletter yesterday.  You could also stamp the sentiment on the inside if you just wanted to showcase the die cuts.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Lots of Thanks, Petite Petals
Card stock – Whisper White, Watercolor Wonder DSP
Ink – Crushed Curry, Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – Lattice die, Window Frame Framelits, Petite Petal punch, Bird Punch, Large pearl , Mosaic embossing folder

I hope you’ll try mixing and matching your dies and Framelits – you might create a masterpiece!  Hugs, Fran

Easter Greetings

This is a card we did yesterday at stamp club.  Inspired by Pinterest, it features the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series paper and the Lattice die.  The front is embossed with the Mosaic embossing folder and I found it easiest to emboss it first and then die cut it with the Oval Framelits.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Delightful Dozen, Petite Petals
Cardstock – Whisper White, Watercolor Wonder DSP
Ink – Crushed Curry, Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – Lattice die, Mosaic embossing folder, Oval Franelits, large pearl, Petite Petal punch, Bird punch

It was fun playing with the Lattice die again.  I had to dust it off and I’m glad I did!  Hugs, Fran
