Change the Look with Sentiments

At one of my stamp clubs we were talking about how to use a Valentine design into a card you can use for other occasions.  I told them I’d take up that challenge – so here you go ladies!  The same card with different looks simply by changing the sentiment  Above is Sassy Salutations – and below is Delightful Dozen.

The next three are sentiments found in Vintage Verses – a Sale a bration set!

I think I like the birthday sentiment from Delightful Dozen best.  How about you?  Hugs, Fran

Change it Up

I love the little Hearts a Flutter note card on page 12 of the Spring Mini – but wanted a full sized card.  So I took the basic idea, added a few layers (who doesn’t love layers!) and came up with this card.  The More Amore Designer Series paper has great patterns that can be stamped on – and these Builder Brads are so much fun to play with!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Oh Hello
card stock – Primrose Petals, Real Red, Pool Party, More Amore DSP
Ink – Basic Gray
Etc – Builder Brads, Bitty Butterfly punch, Hearts a Flutter Framelits

Hugs, Fran

Buzzin By

A Birthday card using the Pop N Cuts base and Spring Sampler stamp set – and glitter!  I embossed the front with Hexagon embossing folder from the Spring Mini.  (hint – put it as low as it will go/no tabs)

I stamped the bees in Jet Black Stazon, colored them with a Daffodil Delight Stampin Write Marker and added Dazzlin Details to the wings and the centers of the flowers.

I used the 3D Flower insert on the inside (and the flower part on the front!)

The bees are on fishing line that I pulled through glue and dipped in Dazzling Diamonds.  They fly around when opened.

I used a retired flower brad to accent the sentiment block.  I didn’t have the right color so I smooshed them into a Versamark pad and them heat embossed them white embossing powder.  After they cooled, I colored the centers with a Sharpie marker.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Spring Sample
card stock – Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Versamark
Stampin Write marker – Daffodil Delight
Etc – Pop N Cuts Base, 3D Flower insert, fishing line, Dazzlin Details/Diamonds, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Hexagon embossing folder, Scalloped Circle die, My Digital Studio

From Frame to Card

There’s a really cute frame in the Spring Mini (page 11) that I changed into a card.  It uses the Heart a Flutter bundle – so cute!  Their frame was backed with chalkboard so I used the chalkboard technique to make this card.  I embossed the sentiment white white embossing powder and used a sponge dauber to apply white craft ink around the edges and on the image.  Then I took a paper towel and rubbed most of it away.  It leaves a “chalky” look behind.  I drew the line around the edge with a white gel pen.  A white pencil or crayon would also work for this technique.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – You are Loved, Hearts a Flutter
card stock – Basic Black, Pool Party, Whisper White
Ink – Versamark, Real Red, Primrose Petals, Pool Party
Etc – Hearts a Flutter Framelits, white gel pen,  Pool Party button,  Pool Party Bakers Twine

Girls Night Out

It’s a Girls Night Out – so get dressed up in your finery and we’ll hit the town!

Obviously we’re going somewhere fancy!  The flower arrangements here are lovely.

This is a “double wide” version of the Pop N Cuts Dress Form! It makes a 5 x 7 card.  I’ve included the video explaining how to do this technique – and another on how to use the Dress Form – by the amazing designer of this die, Karen Burniston,.  Make sure to watch her do her magic!

Card stock – Basic Black, Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Sycamore Street DSP, Brushed Gold, In Color Patterned pack
Etc –  Pop N Cuts base, Dress Form insert, Paper Flowers, Basic Pearls, 1 1/4, 3/4 and1/2 circle punches, gold thread, Little Labels punch pack, 1/4 square punch, Hearts a Flutter Framelit, Bird punch, Basic Gray/Black Two-Toned ribbon, 1 1/4 Scallop Circle punch, My Digital Studio, Oval punch

Winged Love

Guess what?  I was wrong!  The Winged Hearts die fits perfectly in the Stampin Up Dress Form Base.  Sometimes I just need more coffee and good thump on the head!  For this Valentine I pulled out lots of stamp sets.  Did you know that Seasonal Sayings (Holiday Mini – front of card) is still available?  Page 36 of the Spring Mini has a list of everything that is being carried over.  This paper is fun – notice how I was able to use one of the hearts on the paper to “layer” onto the Be My Valentine sentiment!  Too much fun!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Seasonal Sayings, Petite Pairs, Delightful Dozens
card stock – Pool Party, More Amore DSP, Very Vanilla, Real Red, Neutral Paper pack
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Pop N Cuts Winged Hearts insert and die, Pop N Cuts Dress Form base die, Hearts Framelits, rhinestones, Itty Bitty Holiday Shapes punch, Heart punch

Love poppin up all over the place!  Hugs, Fran

Hearts a Flutter Set

I cased the main element off a card that Diana Gibbs cased from Glenda Travelstead – it’s a circle of casing!- and turned it into a 3 x 3 gift card and gift bag.  Now I have a set for Valentines day.  When running the gift bag through the Big Shot, I used no tabs and it was still pretty snug.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Hearts a Flutter, Fabulous Phrases
card stock – Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla
Ink – Early Espresso
Etc – Adorning Accents embossing folder, Very Vanilla seam binding, Flower trim, Artisan Kit lace, Early Espresso ribbon, Hearts a Flutter framelits

Thanks Di (and Glenda!) for a cute idea.  Hugs, Fran
