Stampin Frenzy

IMG_0924

These kids are stampin!

I had the delightful experience of providing a make and take for a high school youth group/choir.  They are from Church of the Savior in Montgomery, Ohio, and took a break at our farm during their travels and we stamped and visited at our log house.  There were about 47 kids. With a minute of instruction, I turned them lose!

Here are the samples I had out for them.

Blessings From Heaven

The cards use an assortment of retired card stock, Blessed by God, Trust in God, and some SVGcuts crosses.  Their cards were totally more creative than mine!  And then they sang for me!  What a treat!  Hugs, Fran

Photo Fun

Oval Accordion 03

It’s challenge time for Karen Burniston’s Design Challenge team and this month’s challenge is photos on Accordion dies!  I chose pictures from a very trip to Universal Studios and kept my Oval Accordion neutral in Basic Gray and Smokey Slate so I could add lots of fun colors and accents.

Ovl Accordion 03 front

To begin my album I embossed Smokey Slate with one of Karen’s new embossing folders, added my Basic Gray strip across the middle and then die cut all the Oval Accordion Album pages.  On the front I added lots of stars, arrows and ribbons.

Oval Accordion 03 left

Can you see the lines of stars going from page to page?  Those are little stars glued to fishing line!

Ovaal Accordion 03 middle

I tied Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry ribbon in the folds and added bits of Bermuda Bay ribbon to that.

Oval Accordion 03 right

The talk bubble in this photo was actually in the picture – it just didn’t fit – so I fussy cut it and added it to the top.  (One of those “I can make it fit” moments!)  I backed all the accordions with Basic Gray.

Supplies

Card stock – Basic Gray, Smokey Slate, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Silver Glimmer paper

Etc – Oval Accordion die, Itty Bitty star punch, What’s Up punch, MS star border punch, fishing line, Crushed Curry ribbon, Melon Mambo ribbon, Bermuda Bay ribbon, circle punch

Lots of fun going on here!

Keep in mind that my blog is being moved and things might look a bit different until it’s finished!  Hugs, Fran

Oh My Goodies

Oh My Goodies 01

This card features the new  Striped Scallop Framelit and the really cute Oh My Goodies stamp set.  The framelit is very easy to use but you need to put wax paper between your die and the card stock.  Then you can gently pull it away.  (If you don’t use the was paper it will still come apart – just not as easily!)  I embossed the sentiment with Basic Black embossing powder and die cut it with the Modern Deco Framelits.  The strip down the side is the Sweet Sadie washi tape over some Basic Black card stock.  Use your bone folder to burnish it down.  Add some Glimmer paper stars and you’re ready to go!

Supplies

Stamp set – Oh My Goodies

Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer paper

Ink – Versamark

Etc – Striped Scallop framelit, Modern Deco Framelit, star punch, Sweet Sadie washi tape, Black embossing powder

I am in the process of having my blog moved (by Angel Elmer!) from one platform to another so if things seem a bit wonky, this is why.  (Not to mention, I’m learning a new system!)  Hugs, Fran

Chilly

Chilly 01

This is Chilly – one of Karen Burniston’s new Character dies – on an Oval Accordion die.  You can see all the dies here. He’s decked out to play in the snow with his snappy scarf.  The sentiment is from Christmas Messages (131790/131793)which is still available!  It’s a great sentiment for this card

Hot Diggity Dog

Here’s a new set called Hot Diggity Dog (page, wood 134021/clear 134024) with a new DSP – Confetti Celebrations! (133692)  I used the Label Card Framelit to make him “flip.”

When I do the inside label, I try to leave enough space below the sentiment to write – at least – a name!  If you want to say more, you can do another label that will hide behind behind the first. I decorated the strip of Strawberry Slush with some little dog bones.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Hot Diggity Dog
Cardstock – Basic Gray, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Confetti Celebration DSP
Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black, Pistachio Pudding
Etc – Label Card Framelit, Tangelo Twist ribbon, Neutral Candy Dots, Brights Candy Dots

I think I need the “cat” set too   Hugs, Fran

HBD2U

It’s bright, isn’t it?  I used the new Sizzix Thinlit dies, Little Letters, and the numbers from the File Tab Edgelit die to create this card.  File Tab Edgelits only has the numbers 1-3, so if you can use that combo you can combine it with the letters.  The Word bubble is from Age Awareness.

Supplies
Stamps – Age Awareness
Cardstock – Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry, Delightful Daffodil, Whisper White, Sweet Taffy DSP
Ink – Memento Tuxedo Black
Etc – Little Letters and File Tab Edgelit dies, retired arrow punch, Dotty embossing Folder, Strawberry Slush cotton ribbon, 1 3/4 circle punch, Word Bubble Framelit

I keep forgetting to order the new arrow punch!  Hugs, Fran

Dotty Angles

Dotty Angles 01

Just playing around with some new stamps!  The background on this card is done with Dotty Angles – a new photopolymer stamp.  I stamped it first in Strawberry Slush and then stamped it again without reinking.  The next color is Blushing Bride and then Pink Pirouette.  The sentiment is from Fabulous Four – which is aptly named because it’s fabulous!  I used some of the new 1/4″ cotton ribbon and the new Fun Flower punch as an accent.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Dotty Angles, Fabulous Four
Cardstock – Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Strawberry Slush, Blushing Bride, Pink Piouette
Etc – Fun Flower punch, 1/4″ Cotton ribbon, Soft Subtle button

It’s fun to play around with new stuff!  Hugs, Fran
