Fabulous Cheepers

PIU Cheepers 01

Here is Ms Cheepers – a new die from Karen Burniston – blinged out for the front of a card!  She is strutting her stuff on some pretty Flower Pot Designer Series paper wearing her pearls.

Her friends are nesting on the Pop It Up Barn Pop Stand and the sentiments were created in My Digital Studio. Because I used card stock to create these chicks, it was easy to turn them in either direction.  (DSP is easy too – just takes some thinking.)  To cover the back of the Pop Up stand, I used a 1 1/4″ x 3 piece of card stock, scored at 1/4.”

National Bathtub Day

Amazing Birthday 03

Just in case you’re celebrating National Bathtub Day tomorrow, I thought I’d share a card!  The challenge is to make a card for “another” holiday in December – and I chose this one.  Using the Bokeh technique, I created a bubbly background with Island Indigo, Marina Mist and Pool Party inks.  The sentiment is from Amazing Birthday.  To make the bubbles on the tag, I used my Stampin Mist and Dazzling Details bottles as stamps.  Then, since it was out, I added Dazzling Details to some of the bubbles.

The inside sentiment was created in My Digital Studio.  To play along with the Creative Crew, upload your own “holiday” card using the keyword CCREW1214HF CreativeCrew SUO.  To see all the projects for this month, head over to the Splicoast Creative Crew Gallery.  Hugs, Fran

Deck the Paws

Hot Diggity Dog 03

The Creative Crew challenges on Splitcoast this month start with using non-traditional colors on a Christmas card.  I used Melon Mambo, Black and Tempting Turquoise – that’s non-traditional!  These pups from Hot Diggity Dog have just spotted the perfect tree!  The sentiment was done in My Digital Studio2.  Play along using the keyword CCREW1214DF, CreativeCrew, SUO

Time for Your Birthday

Poppy 02

Here’s an idea for a birthday invitation using Karen Burniston’s Spiral Circle Pull Card and the cute Poppy die.  The Pull Card is so neat because it has tabs to hold the front together. First I die cut the card and then I stamped the front with Hardwood (what a great stamp!)  I added a gear to the front of the Clock and Gears die and put Poppy on the front holding some balloons.  The sentiment was done in My Digital Studio and punched with the ticket punch.

Inside I printed the invite information, also done in MDS.  The finished card size is 3 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Two by Two

The Pop It Ups Challenge for April is Mamas and Babies!  For the “babies” part, I made a Circle Accordion card using the My Digital Studio image Two by Two.  I used my Sizzix Eclips to print and cut the image on Whisper White cardstock.  Then I colored it. (You could also color it in MDS then cut it out)

Here it is opened.  The sentiment is from Cuddles and Kisses and the paper is a retired Sale a bration DSP.  I added some little pre-made bows to the front and inside.  For the clouds in the sky, I die cut clouds from the Pop it u\Ups Garden bench and used them as masks and then air brushed the circle.  It would have been just as easy to adhere them to the sky but I wanted to try this technique

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Two By Two (MDS), Cuddles and Kisses
Cardstock – So Saffron, Whisper White, retired DSP
Ink – Bashful Blue
Etc – Circle Accordion Pop it Ups with Square with Circle edges, My Digital Studio, bows

I love making these accordion cards – and MDS has so many ways to expand my papercrafting – it’s a win-win!  Hugs, Fran

Creative Cuts

I spent some time searching images in My Digital Studio to use for a card idea that was circling in my head.  This is not the idea!  But it was such a pretty cut – that I decided to go with it.  This image is from Creative Elements – available as a download or a stamp set.  I exported the image from MDS into my ECal software, enlarged it, and cut it out of Crumb Cake cardstock.  I have to say that what was left behind on my cutting mat was as beautiful as the image itself and I will have to try it again using the negative.  I stamped the cardstock with the Hardwood background stamp and layered it over a piece of Afternoon Picnic Designer Series paper.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Express Yourself, Hardwood, MDS Creative Elements
Cardstock – Crumb Cake, Afternoon Picnic
Ink – Chocolate Chip
Etc – Large pearl, ecutter

I still have that “other” idea swimming in my head – I just got distracted!  Hugs, Fran

MDS, Ecutter and Spring

One of the fun things about My Digital Studio 2 (MDS2) is that most of the images are in SVG format.  This means that another way of using them is with an ecutter.  (I use a Sizzix Eclips) And resizing them is a snap!   I used a balloon image from Up, Up and Away to create this card.  I cut it out of the new Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper that will be FREE during Sale abration – grab a bunch of it!

The sentiment is from Banner Greetings.  This is a hostess set – so hold a party during SAB and you’ll own 2/3 of this card

Supplies
Stamp Set – Banner Greetings
Card stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – ecutter (I use the Sizzix Eclips) Pansy punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, banner punch, 1/2 circle punch, Summer Starfruit Stampin Write Marker

Aren’t you looking forward to SAB?  I think the Sweet Sorbet DSP is just beautiful!  Hugs, Fran

Let it Snow Banner

Cute banner – but I really don’t want any snow!  I could go the entire winter without it   But this is a Create a Banner kit banner and I have had a great time making these. My “tip” is to spray the back of the stencils lightly with spray adhesive and use a sponge dauber to apply the ink.   To make the “Let it” stencil, I used My Digital Studio and my Eclips.  I simply imported the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit alphabet letters into ECAL and sized them to fit inside the circle (which is 3 1/2 inches, if you’re trying itself!)

Supplies
Build a Banner Simply Created Kit
Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Island Indigo
My Digital Studio – Build a Banner Simply Created Kit alphabet
Sponge daubers

I’d love to give you the number for the alphabet, but Safari isn’t playing nicely with me this morning.  If I find it later, I’ll add the info!  Hugs, Fran
