Funky Cakes Big Day

SAB Big Day 03

Sparkly, birthday fun!  This is the Sale-a-bration set, Big Day, combined with some EDC Peel Offs called Funky Cakes – and lots of glitter- on a Karen Burniston’s Pop It Ups Rectangular Accordion die and Oval Accordion die.  The paper is Birthday Bash Specialty paper and all the colors are taken from this color combo.  I colored the cake with Blendabilities and Copics. I masked off half the sentiment, stamped it twice, and popped up the “celebrate.”

Bright and happy!  The Oval Accordion has the rest of the sentiment from the front.  (Again, mask off and stamp)  Looks like a party to me!  Hugs, Fran

Build a Bouquet Bokeh

Build a Bouquet 02

Happy Valentines Day!  I’ve had this idea in my head for a while but wasn’t even sure it could be done – Bokeh on both sides of one piece of watercolor paper.  The answer – yes it can!  Because the paper gets pretty wet doing this technique, I thought it would create quite a mess on the other side.  But it’s fine!  Just make sure you start with a large enough piece of watercolor paper so the sides can be cut down.  I used Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Wild Wasabi for this card.  After applying the White Craft circles, I sprayed the entire piece with Shimmer Spray!  In real life this is a very sparkly card 🙂   After the paper was ready – and dry – I used Karen Burniston’s Tag Pivot die to create the card.  The sentiment is from Build a Bouquet – it’s one of my favorite sentiments – and is over stamped with Gorgeous Grunge in Pink Pirouette.

The hearts on the front are a retired Stampin Up punch and the inside heart is from Karen Burniston’s Heart Pivot card die.  I added some washi tape, sequins, and a little sliver of gold foil paper – but there is a lot going on in just the paper so I tried to just step away from the embellishments!  Wishing you lots of love today – Hugs, Fran

Balloon Bash 04

Here is my take on one of my favorite cards demonstrated by Carrie Cudney at Stampin Up’s Leadership conference.  It uses Balloon Bash and some of the new (and wonderful) chalkboard paper.  The background is a piece of Back to Black Designer Series paper colored with Blendabilities.  It took me a while to figure out that mine is so much darker than hers because I used Melon Mambo and she must have use Pink Pirouette!  I finished my take on this card with gold twine and sequins – a perfect combo!  Hugs, Fran

Beautiful Paper Double High

Petite Pairs 04

There is a piece of Designer Series paper called Painted Blooms (page 18) in the Occasions Mini that is so pretty it’s hard to cut into it!  I decided to make Karen Burniston’s Double High Katie Label Pop It Ups card with it so I could show off as much as possible the design.

The sentiment is Petite Pairs and I used the Butterflies Thinlit and the Pop It Ups Paris Edges on the front and inside.  Here’s the link to make the Double High card – it’s one of my favorite techniques!  Hugs, Fran

Celebrating Birthdays

Celebrate Today 01

We stamped a lot of birthday cards yesterday!  This one was inspired by one done by MandyPandy on Splitcoast.  I loved the angle on her card – and though I changed quite a bit about it – I kept the general layout.  And for yesterday we changed the Candy Dots to Salebration buttons!  Hugs, Fran

Balloon Bash

Balloon Bash 01

We all need birthday cards! This is one of the cards we will be making tomorrow at my Birthday Stamp a Stack.  The stamp set is Balloon Bash and the Designer series paper is Birthday Bash – both from the Occasions Mini. I really like the “HB” image!  It’s stamped twice – once on the card and then once fussy cut and popped up.  Hugs, Fran

To a Classic

Guy Greetings 03

The challenge for Karen Burniston’s design team continues today to use 3 or more Pop It Ups die to create a card.  For this card I used the Star accordion die, Star Edge, and Circle Accordion die.  The stamp set is Guy Greetings from the Occasions Mini.

To get the “Grandfather” in the center of the card, I masked off the “pa” part of Grandpa and stamped it with “Father.”  Since I was using Photopolymer stamps – it was easy.  The Star and Circle Accordion dies go together nicely (no fiddling around – the just work together!)  This was fun to make!  Hugs, Fran
