A Day Late

A day late AND using retired products!  This is the Karen Burniston Spinner Square and the Truly Tailored suite from Stampin Up.

This Spinner Square is so easy to adapt to any theme/stamp!  The block is large enough to show off any sentiment or image.  Hugs, Fran

To a Classic

Guy Greetings 03

The challenge for Karen Burniston’s design team continues today to use 3 or more Pop It Ups die to create a card.  For this card I used the Star accordion die, Star Edge, and Circle Accordion die.  The stamp set is Guy Greetings from the Occasions Mini.

To get the “Grandfather” in the center of the card, I masked off the “pa” part of Grandpa and stamped it with “Father.”  Since I was using Photopolymer stamps – it was easy.  The Star and Circle Accordion dies go together nicely (no fiddling around – the just work together!)  This was fun to make!  Hugs, Fran

Guy Greetings

Guy Greetings 02

One of the Splitcoast Creative Crew challenges this month is to take a frame and repurpose it with stuff from a guy’s garage.  Funny – because my garage contains cars and stamps!  I decided to play along and created this framed piece using stamps from Guy Greetings and the Typeset DSP.  Here are some close ups –

I sponged the squares with Crumb Cake and added some Real Red to just a few places to highlight some of the details.  You can play along too using the key word CCREW0115SF

Supplies

Blue Ribbon Dapper Dad

It’s a wild combo – Blue Ribbon, Dapper Dad, Best Dad Ever and the exclusive Stampin Up Pop N Cuts Base and Dress form insert!  On the front I used Dapper Dad.  The watch has a soda pop top that was smashed in my Big Shot and filled with the stamped dial and Crystal Effects.

Doesn’t look like the dress form insert, does it?  I made a layered piece with Blue Ribbon and the Simple Numbers Bigz die.  To make the banner piece on the ribbon, I stamped off with Beyond Plaid and then stamped the ribbon on top of it.

Stamp and layer your image and attach it to the form!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Blue Ribbon, Dapper Dad, Best Dad Ever, Beyond Plaid
Card stock – Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip DSP (retired)
Ink – Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke
Etc – Pop N Cuts base and Dress Form insert, Simple Numbers Bigs die, Oval Framelits, soda pop top, Crystal Effects, 2 3/8 Scallop punch, 1 3/8 circle punch

A special card for a special man!  Hugs, Fran

Best Dad

My Dad is a fairly formal man and I wanted a card that reflected that – so black ties are called for.  Don’t you love the tie tack?

Supplies
Stamp Set – Best Dad Ever
card stock – Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Neutral Pattern Pack
Ink – Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Etc – Rhinestone brad

The retiring list is almost here!  Don’t forget to add your Retiring List guesses to

Making Father Grand

My parents go by “grandmother and grandfather” to their grandchildren.  I am always amazed at how hard it is to find items using these “titles” as opposed to “grandma and grandpa.”  Fortunately the set Wonderful Favorites has “grand” in it and I can change things up a bit.  So here’s a Grandfather’s Day card for my kiddos to give their grandfather

I used The Open Sea to make the actual card.  The sentiment is from Best Dad Ever combined with Wonderful Favorites.

The anchor was cut out and used to frame the “grand.”  The thread in the buttons is really thin strips of Early Espresso card stock.

The sailboat was stamped and punched out with the 2 1/2 circle stamp and then sponged.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – The Open Sea, Best Dad Ever, Wonderful Favorites
card stock – Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Nautical Expedition DSP
Ink – Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy
Etc – 2 1/2 circle punch, neutral buttons, Word Window punch

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Black Tie Dad

Here are two versions of a Best Dad Ever card.  The first one uses all black ties and a rhinestone tie clip.

The “handkerchiefs” (yes, that’s what they are suppose to be) down the side are punched with the 1 1/4 square punch.  Then to step it up a bit, I added a red tie and some texture with my embossing folders.

I inked this one up with my Stampin Write Markers.

Supplies
Stamp set – Best Dad Ever
card stock – Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink – Basic Black (or Stampin Write markers Basic Black and Real Red)
Etc – Square Lattice and Vintage Wallpaper embossing folders, Scallop edge punch, Word Window punch, black or red rhinestone brad

So is your dad a red tie or black tie kind of dad?  Mine is a black tie   Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

A Father’s Day Idea

I don’t even have a Mother’s idea yet – but here’s one for Father’s Day!  My father loves to travel and when I saw this double easel card on The Three Sisters site I pictured a card for him using The Open Sea.  (See – I got the name right this time!)

The sentiment (from Best Dad Ever) and the anchor are embossed and the “stops” are staggered to hold the sides at different levels.

I almost printed “You Mean the World to Me” until I remembered that this sentiment is in Word Play!  Perfect!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – The Open Sea, Best Dad Ever, Word Play
card stock – Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Nautical Expedition DSP
Ink – Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy (Classic and Craft), Versamark
Etc – Antique brad, Vintage brass brad, Word Window punch, 1 3/8 and  1/4 inch circle punches, Bakers Twine, silver embossing powder, clear embossing powder

Enjoy – Hugs, Fran
