Welcome Baby

Star Accordion 01

Happy 4th of July!  Hope you have a wonderful and safe celebration!  This is Karen Burniston’s Star Accordion Album decorated with some really cute peel-off stickers called Star Buddies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The paper is Stampin Up’s retired Lullaby.  To do the baby animal images, I put the stickers on adhesive sheets, poured glitter over them and colored on the glitter with Copic markers.  Els has a great video on this technique here.

I used the Baby We’ve Grown set to finish off this card.  And here it is open – with all the animals!  Cute!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team June Challenge

Star Accordion 02

Our challenge this month was, well…..challenging!  We were to make cards using dies that match the first initial of our first and last names!  So for this card I chose some Fancy Frames and the Star Accordion Album.  The front of the card has the 3-D star, the Star Fancy Frame Edges, some Red Glimmer paper and glitter brads.

The little flag banner at the top shows on the inside too!

The inside shows the red, white and blue – 4th of July card.  See the banner showing on both sides? Just make 2 the same size and attach them to the card and each other.

The middle section uses Stampin Up’s Irresistible You paper that has stripes embossed on it.  I added a sentiment from Banner Banter and the USA is die cut using the ECD Alphabet 1 die in Marina Mist.  The edges are also from the Star Fancy Frames set.

Star Accordion 02 right

The right side star is not popped up because it closes into the card.  I still inked the fold lines to give it the same appearance.  So grab some red, white and blue paper and play along!  You can find all the cards for this challenge on Karen’s Facebook page. Hugs, Fran

To a Classic

Guy Greetings 03

The challenge for Karen Burniston’s design team continues today to use 3 or more Pop It Ups die to create a card.  For this card I used the Star accordion die, Star Edge, and Circle Accordion die.  The stamp set is Guy Greetings from the Occasions Mini.

To get the “Grandfather” in the center of the card, I masked off the “pa” part of Grandpa and stamped it with “Father.”  Since I was using Photopolymer stamps – it was easy.  The Star and Circle Accordion dies go together nicely (no fiddling around – the just work together!)  This was fun to make!  Hugs, Fran
