Hang on to Your Love

I saw a really cute card done by Lori at Linking Aloud and cased it using SU products.  It’s sweet and simple – and uses lots of stamp sets (which I’m famous for and need to stop doing!)

Lori had hearts hanging on a wash line – I used the new Bordering on Romance set to create a wash line and masked off the sides.  The line around it is drawn by hand.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – I (heart) Hearts, Bordering on Romance, p.s. I Love You
card stock – Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake
Ink – Real Red
Stampin Write Marker – Basic Black

I ran down to Savannah Georgia to get my son settled back in to school this week – fast and furious but we did it!  So today I am trying to pull lots of things together in my stamp room.  My Christmas tree is still up but I’m guessing it won’t harm anyone if it’s up until this weekend   Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Bold Sweet Cake

We also celebrate my brother’s birthday during the holidays – yes, we have 4 birthdays during the holidays! Great for me because I got to try out the upcoming Sweet Cake stamp set for him!  I wanted to do something masculine and fun so I chose the Big Top Birthday Designer Series paper to compliment the stamp.

The frosting on the cupcake is coated with Crystal Effects and there’s a glimmer brad cherry on top! Just because it’s masculine doesn’t mean it can’t have bling

Supplies
Stamp Set – Sweet Cake
card stock – Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday DSP
Ink – Tempting Turquoise, Real Red
Etc – Adorning Accent Edgelit Die, Ticket punch, Crystal Effects, Bold Bright glimmer brad, spritzer

My stamp room was used as a “wrapping room” for a few days leading up to Christmas – so today I’m digging out, organizing and putting things away.  Can’t have wrapping paper keeping me from my stamps – Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Beautiful Birthday

This is the card I did for my mom’s birthday.  Not only is it a birthday card – it’s a sneak peek of products in the upcoming Occasions Mini.  A double duty card!  The design is based on the card shown in the mini catalog.

What a great set!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Apothecary Art (Occasions Mini 125525/125527)
card stock – Poppy Parade, Always Artichoke, watercolor paper
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Poppy Parade, Real Red, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake
Etc – Framelits Label Collection, Edgelits Die, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Poppy Parade ribbon, Victorian Lace, Hat Pin, Dazzling Details, Basic Rhinestone, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Vintage Trinkets pins, Always Artichoke seam binding

The Dazzling Details was used on the roses – just a touch.  Because the Hat Pin was so close to the edge cut with the Edgelit die, I put a drop of Crystal Effects on the point.  Didn’t want my mom to get stuck opening her birthday card!  There is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful pleated ribbon in the mini but not in Poppy parade.  So I used glue dots to make my own.  I’m wishing for this ribbon in every color – it’s just beautiful!  (I think I said that!)  So my mom’s birthday card ended up being the perfect time to try lots of the goodies in the Occasions mini!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Poinsettias

Here’s one more card made to tie on to a package.  The poinsettia is made with the Blossom Party Big Shot die.  I scored the middle of each bloom, snipped on side to the center and slightly overlapped it to give it some lift.  Hand Penned Holidays finishes it off.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Hand Penned Holidays
card stock – Real Red, Whisper White, Garden Green
Ink – Real Red
Etc – Scallop border punch, Blossom Party Big Shot die, So Saffron brad, Real Red satin ribbon

I hope all your Christmas plans are coming together!  Tomorrow is my mother’s birthday and I host the family party.  I cooked like crazy yesterday so that tomorrow won’t be too overwhelming.  (Ended up at the grocery store twice!)  This party officially kicks off our holiday fun!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Something Cased for Christmas

I cased an idea from Mary Fish.  She did a cute card with punched openings across the top.  I changed the stamp set and kept just about everything else.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Holiday Happiness
card stock – Whisper White, Old Olive
Ink – Cherry Cobbler
Etc – Cherry Cobbler quilted ribbon, 1 1/4 square punch, Scallop Trim Border punch, Basic Rhinestones

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

A Twist on Advent

My friend Lee made these advent calendars using different colors than the expected red and green!  She took the my advent calendar class – and then did her own twist.  She used the Peek a Boo Frames and 25 & Counting – and lots of other thing! Don’t you LOVE them?

And to to it off, she made something like 13 of these – my kind of friend!  Amazing!  Enjoy – Hugs, Fran

Tie One On

Snow Much Fun is one of the first sets I purchased from the current Idea Book and Catalog.  I just love these little guys!  This is a 3 x 6 card that I’m using as a tag to spruce up a present.  The larger size makes it show off nicely on the gift.

Supplies
stamp set – Snow Much Fun
card stock – Real Red, Pacific Point, watercolor paper
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Pacific Point, Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie
Etc – Modern Label punch, Pacific Point brads (Brights), aqua painter

Note – I usually use Basic Gray instead of Black when I’m watercoloring.

Christmas is a week away!  I still have 2 birthdays to celebrate before then (my mom and my brother) so I’m scurrying around trying to make lists and checking them 9 or 10 times an hour.  I’m so thankful when I can shut myself up in my craft room and stamp some sanity!  Enjoy – Hugs, Fran

MDS Packaging

I love My Digital Studio!  I had a little brown bag from a store that was easily re-made into a gift bag just by printing out some elements from Very Merry.  Snip, snip – a bit of Designer Series paper and ribbon – and it’s converted into this –

This is my idea of going green!  I printed it out 2 times and decorated the front and back.  Now to fill it   Not only are we celebrating Christmas – we have 4 birthdays this month.  I need lots of packaging!

Schools out so I got up early to have some stamp time before the chaos and comotion.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Some More Little Boxes

While I was making the little boxes for my team meeting, I kept coming up with different designs.  (Actually, I still am!)  So I put a few of them together.  These boxes are made by cutting 1 1/2 inches off the top of the Fancy Favor box and adding a 4′ circle (scored at 3 1/8) to the front.  Here’s a few other ideas.  A fancy ornament in Shimmery White and Brushed Gold –

A cupcake –

A snowman –

Is your mind whirling now with all the things this little box could be?

On a side note – we’ve figured out the internet problem and it’s going to involved moving a few things around to enable a better signal.  Guess what I get to do today?

Today is the last day of school here!  I can’t believe how quickly the time is going.  Hopefully we’ll get to go see Southern Lights tonight – it’s a huge light display at the horse park.  I’m ready for something to get us in the holiday spirit!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Merry Winter Case

One of my favorite samples in the Idea Book is the sample for Merry Winter on page 41.  I gathered up the supplies I have on hand and recreated it.

The biggest difference is that I pleated some Real Red Designer Series paper down the side instead of using ribbon.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Merry Winter
card stock – Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White
Stampin Write Markers – Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip
Etc – Full Heart punch, Owl Punch, buttons, 1/8 Real Red ribbon, Stamp a Ma Jig

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
