Last Minute Halloween Treats

Halloween is this week and if you’re still needing a few last minute treat ideas – here you go!  On the left I used the Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit and filled the cello bags with candy corn.  You can find the kit in the Holiday Mini  – page 32 (132792)  There’s a Christmas Kit too!  On the right I simply filled Halloween cups from the Halloween section of my grocery store with candy, stamped a tag using Halloween Bash and tied with some Baker’s Twine.  Really easy and really cute!  Hugs, Fran

Clearly Winter Wishes

This picture is something of an optical illusion – there really is no bend in the card but the light makes it look that way!  This is the exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base, the Warmth & Wishes stamp set, and Winter Frost Designer Series paper.  I also added some of the foil card stock – and this card really shines!

On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s new Multi- Tier insert cut out of acetate.  The Winter Frost DSP had a beautiful design on the flip side and I didn’t want to cover it.  I cut the acetate with the insert, stamped it using White Stazon and let the design shine through. I also added some rhinestones to the some of the snowflakes.

I stamped the trees in Versamark and embossed them with silver embossing powder.

Here you can see the mechanics of the card.  Love how the trees float!

Stamp Set – Warmth & Wishes
Card stock – Whisper White, Silver Foil, Winter Frost
Ink – Versamark, Coastal Cabana, Soft Suede
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base with Multi Tiered insert by Karen Burniston, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Silver Ribbon, Acetate, Rhinestone, Silver Embossing Powder, Framelits

Spooky Banner

Here’s the Spooky Banner we made yesterday!  It is a case of the Holiday Mini banner and was so fun to make.  I sprayed the backs of the stencils that come in the kit with a very light coating of spray on adhesive and we used sponge daubers to apply the color. Everything else came in the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (132698).  I ended up with 1 button and 1 circle design left over but several of the gals making these yesterday came up with very creative ways to use up every single embellishment   Always fun to create with friends – Hugs, Fran

Don’t forget that the 25 Year Celebration Sign up Special starts TODAY!

Halloween Bags

I made these for my stamp club members using the instructions found on the Stampin Up blog.  You start with the Mini Muslin Bags (page 36 Holiday Mini – 132180) and My Digital Studio.  I used the Halloween Bash download – recolored it as shown and then mirrored the image.  All of this is done in MDS.  Then I printed it on a sheet of Avery Iron On Transfer paper and followed the directions on the package to apply them.  So easy – and very, very fun to do!  There are so many cute ideas out there for the Holidays that it’s hard to keep up!  Make sure to share if you try this one – Hugs, Fran

Owl Brooms

Owls on broomsticks – oh so cute!  I made these for my daughter’s sorority sisters using a retire stamp Warmest of Wishes.  You could use any stamp – or punch art – to make up these cute lollipop brooms for Halloween.  (Punch art would be so cute if you are just making a few!)

Of course, I punched three blank owl shapes to give my owl a little more “umph” and to help steady the lollipop (Tootsie Roll pops)  FYI – I got 16 lollipops in a bag.  There are many many many examples of these brooms on Pinterest  – so here’s how I ended up making mine.

Use a coffee filter and fold it in half (I found brown filters at my grocery store)

Fold it in half again –

and once more.  You will have 8 layers of filter.

Use your papersnips to make a fringe.

Open it up to the first half fold and make a tiny, tiny snip at the center. (Really tiny!)  When you open it up, you can poke your lollipop stick through the hole and tie it with Baker’s Twine.  I colored the sticks with a brown Sharpie before I placed it in the filter.  Glue the owl onto the front – using it to help balance your treat.

And last, but least – have you heard about this upcoming special?  Wow!!  Hugs, Fran

Birthday Accordion Album

This bright and cheery card is LATE for my niece’s birthday!  Sheesh!   I used the Sizzix Accordion Flip Album die designed by Karen Burniston (who also designed the SU exclusive Pop N Cuts die and inserts!)  The color combination comes from the Designer Series Paper I Am Me.

Here it is opened – the mirrored paper just will not photograph.

I used Flower Shop to add the So Saffron flowers.

Now to get this in the mail!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Flower Shop, Remembering Your Birthday
Card stock – Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pool Party, I Am Me DSP, mirror paper
Ink – So Saffron, Real Red
Etc – Accordion Album Flip die and Frame, Flower punch, 1/2 circle punch, 2 1/2 Circle Punch

I’ve been running behind for a few days now so I’m taking today to try and get things together.  Wish me luck!  Hugs, Fran

Halloween Bash

Boo!  Halloween is coming!  These coffins are boxes from Digital Delights decorated with some retired DSP.  I used Halloween Bash from the Holiday mini catalog to add the Beware.  If you still have the retired bat punch, it fits perfectly on this label.

Since I need quite a few of these, I am using up old every piece of Halloween DSP I can find.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Halloween Bash
Card stock – Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, White Craft
Etc – retired bat punch, Coffin from Digital Delights

It was parents weekend this past weekend for my youngest.  We had a good time at some scheduled events and just visiting (and shopping!)  Hugs, Fran

Hanging Ornaments

How funny!  Check out the rhinestones in the center of these ornaments!  Some of them have moved   And I didn’t even notice it until now.  Well – I’d suggest you put the rhinestones in the center of the ornaments instead of willy nilly all over the card!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Christmas Collectibles, Christmas Messages
Card Stock – Whisper White
Ink – Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Etc – Dotted embossing folder, Baker’s Twine, Ornament punch, rhinestones (!)

Silly me!  Hugs, Fran

Grateful for You Pop N Cut

A Fall Pop N Cuts card!  For the front of this card I used pieces from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit in the Holiday Mini and some Sweater Weather Designer Series paper.

The inside is a Thanksgiving/friendship scene featuring my favorite Dress Form insert.

The banner was made in MDS 2 and the mirror is Label Love with the matching punch and a little bit of silver foil paper for the inside. Her tablecloth is a Doily.

The turkey is a small oval punch with Build a Blossom legs.  It sits on a circle punch serving platter.  The bowls of cranberries and green beans are also the small oval punch with scallop punches for the cranberries.

The rug is a Sizzix embossing folder designed by Karen Burniston – works great here!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Harvest of Thanks, Label Love, Itty Bitty Banners
Card stock – Sweater Weather DSP, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Ink – Sahara Sand, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
Etc – Exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base die and Dress Form insert, Rug embossing folder, Itty Bitty Framelits, Small oval punch, 1 ” punch, 7/8 scallop punch, Build a Blossom punch, MDS 2, Paper Doily, pearls

More Sketched Birthday

Still searching for that perfect card using Sketched Birthday!  Here I tried it with the very fun Designer Series paper – Birthday Basics.  I just love the color combo in this DSP!  On this one I stamped the sentiment directly on the paper and it’s a bit busy.

So on this one I turned the card and stamped the sentiment on a piece of Very Vanilla.  Better.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Sketched Birthday, Remembering Your Birthday
Card Stock – Bermuda Bay, Crisp Cantaloupe, Very Vanilla, Birthday Basics DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Markers – Crisp Cantaloupe, Bermuda Bay, Summer Starfruit
Etc – Pennant die, 2 1/2 circle punch, Rhinestone

Our Stamping Garage sale went great – and I’m glad it’s over   We had almost cold weather which was very nice (and very different for the sale.)  Hugs, Fran
