Starburst Sayings Card in a Box

I made this card for my son’s birthday – and forgot to photograph it flattened.  It’s a “Pop Up Box Card ” card and you find the instructions on Splitcoast.  I started thinking I’d use Peachy Keen (because he’s a movie kind of guy) and I did use the framelits and some of the arrows, but I kept getting drawn in by the sayings in Starburst Sayings.  So there you go!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Peachy Keen, Starburst Sayings
Card Stock – Pool Party, Basic Gray, Whisper White, I Am Me DSP
Ink – Real Red, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pool Party
Etc – Peachy Keen framelits, Candy Dots, Small Heart punch, Heart Framelits, banner punch, fishing line

My youngest was suppose to leave for England yesterday for a 3 week class.  After many hours of delay, the flight was canceled and they can’t leave until Thursday!   Yikes!  To make a long story short – I drove her to the airport the night before to avoid the “storm” that never came – and now I get to go back to get her until Thursday.  Poor girl – really poor teacher!  Stay warm!  Hugs, Fran

People Like You

Happy Occasions Mini!  It starts today!  The sample of People Like You on page 7 of the Occasions Mini is my (current) favorite in the mini catalog.  Imagine my surprise when I realized it’s a wrapped box and not a card.  So I turned a few things around and made it a card.  I meant to use just 2 paper doilies – but I ended up with 3.  I have the hardest time getting them apart!

This little card combines lots and lot of fun new stuff.

Supplies
Stamp Set – People Like You
card stock – Whisper White, watercolor paper, Watercolor Wonder DSP, Gold foil, Modern Medley DSP
Ink – Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry
Etc – Label Framelits, Gold cord, Watercolor Wonder Washi tape, Gold Glimmer Brad, Paper Doilies,

It’s a snow day here – stay safe and warm!  Hugs, Fran

Love You To The Moon

Love You to the Moon is a set in the Occasions Mini and it has lots of really cute Valentine/Love You images and sayings.  I cased this layout from someone – and I have to admit that I can’t find the original person!  On her card, she had circles instead of hearts and a different color scheme- do you recognize it?   I also added the little banner punch and arrow clip to the side.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Love You to the Moon
card stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush, In Colors DSP, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Stampin Write Markers – Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – Chalk Talk Framelits, Cute Clips, Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (Sale a bration!) Full Heart punch

Today I am going to tackle taking down the Christmas tree – wish me luck.  So much fun putting it up – such a mess taking it down!  Hugs, Fran

Starburst Sayings

As 2013 comes to a close, I want to take the time to thank all my blog followers.  And what better way to say thanks than a sneak peek of an upcoming Occasions Mini stamp set and DSP?  This is the Starburst Sayings stamp set and Framelit dies – and they are a bundle (or better yet, can be a bundle – but why not?)  Using some new Kaleidoscope DSP, it’s a very vibrant card!

Stamp Set – Starburst Sayings
card stock – Strawberry Slush, Basic Black, Kaleidoscope DSP
Ink- Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Starburst Framelits, Black twine, rhinestones

Have a wonderful New Years Eve and thanks for stopping by!  Hugs, Fran

Sparkling Deco Christmas Pop (N Cuts)

Lots of sparkle going on over here!  This Christmas card features the exclusive SU Pop N Cuts Base and Deco label dies (both by Karen Burniston)  and the beautiful Modern Medley Designer Series paper. On the front I stamped part of one of the sentiments from Delightful Dozen in Versamark and embossed it in gold.  It’s die cut using the Deco label die and layered on Silver Glimmer paper.  The stars on the bottom are punched using the small star punch and the larger star is from the Star #2 die.

The Deco Labels and the larger star are popped up (’cause it’s a pop-up card!)

The Deco Label insert and lots of different sparkle inside!

The top sentiment is the other part of the Delight Dozen sentiment of the front.  It’s stamped in Versamark and embossed in gold.  I die cut it out using Sizzix’s Banner & Boarders designed by Karen.  It is backed on Silver Glimmer paper.

The champagne flutes are from Easy Embellishments.  I stamped them on a 4″ circle of window sheet using a Glue pad and covered them in Gold Glitter.  Then I went around the circle with small stars in Silver and Champagne Glimmer paper.  The 2014 is die cut using the Timeless Type dies and they are popped up on the window sheet.  The window sheet is glued to the Deco Labels behind it just underneath the numbers.

Can you see it?

The bottom sentiment is from More Many Messages and is again embossed in gold and accented with more stars.  I find it easiest to adhere Glimmer Paper with glue.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Delightful Dozen, More Merry Messages
Card stock – Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Silver and Champagne Glimmer papers
Ink – Versamark
Dies – SU Pop N Cuts Base and Deco Label insert and dies, Sizzix Banner & Borders, Star #2, Clear Circle die, Timeless Type
Etc – small heart punch, window sheet, Gold Glitter, Glue pad

What a glittery way to send your Best Wishes!  Hugs, Fran

I (heart) Santa

This card starts with a Cherry Cobbler exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base embossed with the Sassy and Circle Label embossing folder by Sizzix.  I added some wide Cherry Cobbler ribbon and Silver ribbon under a Silver Glimmer paper die cut from the Sassy Label & Stitched Frames Framelit.

If you look closely you can see the Stitched accent I added on the front.  The final element is a tag from Tag 4 You stamped in Old Olive and punched out with the matching punch.

And the inside!  I used Karen Burniston’s House insert and matching framelit, her Ribbon Tree die and Banner & Borders Framelit, Season of Style Designer Series paper and the “mini Frosty” from Best of Snow to create this little scene.  The sentiment is from the November My Paper Pumpkin

I needed the tree to be taller so I cut two of them and pieced them together.  They are accented with Silver Glimmer paper.  The lights on the house are Basic Rhinestones colored with Copic Markers.  The house is accented with Dazzling Details and the heart on the door is coated with Crystal Effects.  I also added some tiny snowflakes on a few of the dots in the background paper.  (yes, my desk was covered with stuff!)

Oh – and the tree was topped with using the Tiny Heart punch in Red Glimmer paper.

To keep the tall tree from flopping around, I added an extra support to the back.

Frosty was stamped in Jet Black Stazon and colored with Stampin Write Markers.  To make the sign, I adhered some Season of Style Washi tape to Whisper White cardstock and cut the tiniest strip – to look like a candy cane.  The sign is from Very Merry Tags – stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with matching punch.  The doorknob is a Candy Dot.

The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and die cut using the Sizzix Banner & Border Framelit.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Best of Snow, Very Merry Tags, Tags 4 You, November Paper Pumpkin
Card stock – Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Season of Style DSP
Ink – Cherry Cobbler, Jet Black Stazon
Etc – SU exclusive Pop N Cuts Base, Karen Burniston’s house insert, Banner & Border framelit, Ribbon Tree, Sassy Label Stitched Framelit and embossing folder, Label Bracket punch, Petite Curly Label punch, Basic Rhinestones, Season of Style Washi tape, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Details, Regal Candy Dots

I think I might love this little Frosty even more than his original counterpart!  Hugs, Fran

Clearly Winter Wishes

This picture is something of an optical illusion – there really is no bend in the card but the light makes it look that way!  This is the exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base, the Warmth & Wishes stamp set, and Winter Frost Designer Series paper.  I also added some of the foil card stock – and this card really shines!

On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s new Multi- Tier insert cut out of acetate.  The Winter Frost DSP had a beautiful design on the flip side and I didn’t want to cover it.  I cut the acetate with the insert, stamped it using White Stazon and let the design shine through. I also added some rhinestones to the some of the snowflakes.

I stamped the trees in Versamark and embossed them with silver embossing powder.

Here you can see the mechanics of the card.  Love how the trees float!

Stamp Set – Warmth & Wishes
Card stock – Whisper White, Silver Foil, Winter Frost
Ink – Versamark, Coastal Cabana, Soft Suede
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base with Multi Tiered insert by Karen Burniston, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Silver Ribbon, Acetate, Rhinestone, Silver Embossing Powder, Framelits

Hugs, Fran

Flying Easel

This weekend I realized that I haven’t shared this case of the Flying Easel card that Karen Burniston showed on her blog.  It uses the exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base and the Deco Label Framelits.

This is my version – and Karen has lots of other “looks” for this style.

Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base and Deco Label Framelits, Butterfly Wings Embosslit, Washi Tape, Gesso, fishing line, bead, Crushed Curry Chevron ribbon

Secret Garden

Here’s a case of a card I received at convention.  It uses Secret Garden stamp set and matching framelits.  The colors are Raspberry Ripple, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe!  I would not have put these colors together if I hadn’t seen it first.

Stamp Sets – Secret Garden, Four You
card stock – Whisper White
Ink – Raspberry Ripple, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – Secret Garden Framelits, rhinestones

Stamped all day yesterday and scrapbooking today – life is GOOD!  Hugs, Fran

Merry Little Christmas Tree

A Merry Little Christmas to you – and a Season of Style!  I used the Season of Style and the Sizzix Evergreen Tree die to create this card.

The wainscoting idea is from Karen Burniston herself – so cute on the inside and so easy to do with the Simply Scored Scoring tool!  The sentiment on the left is a
