So What Got You Started

Stamping?  Did you go to a workshop or party?  Try it on your own?  I saw some cute images in a store one day and decided to give it a try.  My first images were a cute hedgehog from Penny Black and some little kiddos from Me & My Big Ideas.  I still have them.  They led me to want to find out more about this art – and here I am.  So since today is my birthday, I decided to pull out some of these very old images and make something new.

An odd color combo on the front – Wisteria Wonder, Real Red and Basic Black.  The sentiment from Remembering Your Birthday was the perfect font and saying for this card.
On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s Lot’s of Pops die and the cute little triangle punch from the Occasions mini.

So now it’s your turn!  What got you started stamping?  Hugs, Fran

  2. Well, Happy Birthday Fran, hope you have a fantastic day!!!!!
Now, about this super cute stamps…..I went to the website but I couldn’t find them, they are simply adorable, could you tell me the name of the set??
Now, what got me stamping about 7 years ago, was that, when we move to NW Indiana from Chicago, I found a fabulous store named Michael’s not to far from my house and one day I just went in and was blown away by the amazing products for all kinds of hobbies. I bought a couple of birthday stamps and some ink, card stock and some ribbon, then I made my first card that I sent to a friend, she loved it and then, I found SU on line, and the rest, well…..here I am now.
Thank you for helping me recall this fun time.

  3. Thanks for the birthday wishes!  Those stamps really are the first batch of stamps I ever purchased – and are not SU.  But they did lead me to want to learn more about stamping  Once I found out you could buy stamps in sets, I was hooked.

I love your “getting started” story!  And I’m sure all the people who receive your beautiful cards are glad you found a stamping too!  Hugs, Fran
  4. Happy Birthday Fran! I’m so glad you got started and share the wonder of stamping with us.

My first stamping was through a workshop at a friends house. I didn’t do much with it at the time since I was doing scrapbooks more. Then one day I was at a crop at the home of a Stampin’ Up! Demo and began going to her classes and the rest is history. I was hooked!

Been a Demo since June 2010 and love playing with my stamps, papers and making good friends along the way!

  5. Thanks for the b’day wishes!  That’s a great story of how you started  I love to scrapbook too – but also love the “instant gratification” of cards.  Glad to have good stampin friends!  Hugs, Fran

  6. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Fran! What a great story and darling stamps! Your card is wonderful…. I have a dear friend who ws making cards with SU! products – when I saw something she made, I asked about it and the next thing she was taking me to a workshop where we played and made classes…thing there was no turning back after that! I became a demo four plus years ago…and still have that dear friend who ‘pulled me in’…and now there are four of us who love SU! products…thank you for sharing!

  7. Thanks for the b’day wishes, Carol!  And I love stories about friends who stamp together!  I can just imagine all the fun you gals have had over the years  Hugs, Fran
