Paper Pros Winter Birthday Challenge

This month’s Paper Pro Winter Birthday came just in time because Winter birthday cards and tags are a must in my household!  We have 5 December birthdays – plus some in January and February!  I used the new Karen Burniston Tag Book die turned vertically to make a birthday shaker tag.  The paper is Stampin Up’s Year of Cheer Specialty paper and Silver and Red Foil.  The flower die cut is from Altenew,  Inside the shaker piece are an assortment of sequins in white and silver.

Inside I embossed Stampin Up’s Flirty Flowers in silver to extend up the tag. I added some pretty silver ribbon and red twine to finish it off.  The twine will pull through both holes to hold it closed.  The Tag Book makes an awesome tag!  Enjoy all the other creations for this challenge by following the links below.  Hugs, Fran

Snowflake Sentiment Christmas Tree

There’s something about this gold paper that makes everything beautiful!  It’s called Year of Cheer Specialty Designer Series paper and each piece has a metallic foil design.  Here I added a gold embossed sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments and a gold snowflake,  It’s a 4 1/2 x 6 card.

Inside is the Christmas Tree Pop Up by Karen Burniston using a gold foil Snowflake doily as a tree skirt.  The tree is decorated with gold ornaments (included with the die!)

Very simple, very shiny!  Hope you enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros – Holiday Cards

Today is the Paper Pro Monthly Challenge – Holiday Cards!  I chose to use Beachy Little Christmas to make an untraditional Christmas card.  The card stock and Designer paper are Marina Mist.  I stamped the tree and the shells in Momento Tux black and colored them with Copic markers.  The front panel is die cut with a stitched rectangle die.  The shells are covered with Glossy Accents and Dazzling Details.

It’s hard to see the sparkle but in real life – it sparkles!  But the fun happens when you open the card!

Inside I used Karen Burniston’s Twist Panel Pop Up die.  Each little beach house is colored in the same colors from the front and the surf boards are covered in Glossy Accents and Dazzling Details.  The cute banners across the top sport the little shells.

Make sure to check out the other Holiday Cards by the Paper Pros.  Hugs, Fran

KB Design Team Challenge – G-G-G-Ghosts

It’s time for another Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge and this month it’s Ghosts!  I’ve create a large 6 x 6 Basic Black card stock base card to share today.  The tombstones from the Halloween Scene dies were stamped in Basic Gray ink on Smoky Slate card stock using SU’s Marbled background stamp.  The bats and pumpkin are from Halloween Elements and the fence is from Karen’s House & Fence Pop Up.  The background is Distressed Oxide inks pounced and sprayed  and smooched until I liked the results 🙂  I added black Nuvo drops scattered around the scene.

The inside uses Karen’s Flower Pot die as a big tombstone with ghosts flying out of it!  I repeated most of the outside elements to the inside and added some retired Halloween stamps as a greeting.

The ghosts are attached to strips of acetate to make them float.  The bricks on the tombstone/flower pot are done with SU’s brick stencil and embossing paste tinted with Smoky Slate re-inker.   I went over the bats and pumpkins with Shimmer pen – gotta have glitter!

Have fun checking out all the other spooky creations from the team!  Hugs, Fran

Smitten

Here’s a fun 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 Christmas card using the new set in the Holiday mini called Smitten Mitten.  The set has a matching die that makes cute mittens with all sorts of patterns and accessories.  I used the knit trim across the top and a snowflake to decorate.  The sentiment is from Snowflake Sentiments and die cut using Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label die in white and Pool Party. The patterned paper is Stamping Ups Quilted Christmas Cardstock pack.

And inside is Karen Burniston’s Snowman Twist Circle die and her Winter Animals dies.  I used the penguins to make a scene with the Nature’s Edges die – penguins making snowmen with the snowman watching.  What a fun card!

There’s still time to join me on October 7th for my World Card Making Day Christmas Stamp a Stack.  Check here for more information.  Hugs, Fran

Cute Cupcake

Something fun!  The image is from a Copic class I took at Kit and Clowder from La La Land (Heart Cupcake Marci.)  I paired her with Sweet Sugarplum paper and some washi tape dotted with white Nuvo Drops.  There’s a glitter gem in the center of the flower punch.  So, of course, she had to go with………

Karen Burniston’s Pop Up Cupcake!  The sentiment is from Birthday Blooms.  This was sent to my niece to celebrate her birthday today 🙂  Hope it makes her smile – Hugs, Fran

Christmas in the Making

My niece and her cat getting ready for Christmas 🙂  This set – Christmas in the Making – has 3 darling images, perfect for coloring.  I used Copic markers to color and fussy cut the image and adhered it to some Christmas Around the World Designer Series paper.  I used the holly embossing folder for the background.  The scallop across the bottom is the negative from the Ticket Treat border punch,  The packages are covered with shimmer pen and Crystal Effects.  Hugs, Fran

Noel Eclipse

I have to say that I didn’t know this technique had a name but people are referring to it as “Eclipse.”  I used Season Like Christmas and the Large Letter Framelits to make this card.  I stamped the card front using Garden Green and Pear Pizzaz to make a scene of snowy trees.  The snow is doe with embossing powder.  You can see the cards I did with single trees here.

After you stamp the front, die cut the letters from the stamped piece.  I used a piece of Post It tape to hold it all together.  Then die cut the letters from white card stock 4 more times.  Glue the letters on top of each other and use the stamped letters on the top.  Puzzle them back into the negative space on the stamped image.  I added the sentiment from the Season Like Christmas set, masking it to make one long sentiment.

It’s a really pretty look – better seen in person 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros Challenge – Halloween

Today is the Paper Pros Challenge and it’s Halloween!  The first thing I thought of when I saw Stampin Up’s Season to Sparkle was The Phantom of the Opera 🙂  So here’s my Phantom card.  The card is a 5 x 7 and has a circle die cut from the front.  The chandelier  is die cut twice – once for the outside (which is mostly trimmed away) and one for the inside.  I covered the chandelier with Glossy Accents and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds.  The jewel border was die cut, colored with Copics and adhered to the top. The graveyard scene is from Karen Burniston’s Halloween Scene die.  First I stamped the Basic Gray card stock using the Marbled background stamp, then I die cut it.  The sentiment is embossed in white on black card stock.

On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label die so the chandelier swings above the cemetery as it’s opening.  The little spiders dangle as it moves.  The creates are an Art Impressions stamp – Spooktacular – colored with Copies and fussy cut.  Make sure you check out all the other Halloween creations!  Hugs, Fran
