Cheerful Critters

Cheerful Critters 01

My brother recently had a birthday and this is the card I made for him using the upcoming set Cheerful Critters.  I colored the images using Blendabilities and fussy cut them out.  On the middle banner I stamped a sentiment from Something to Say.  On the inside I used the Happy Birthday Pop It Up from Karen Burniston and spelled out his name with SU’s Little Letters. The DSP is coming up in the Occasions Mini – Birthday Bash Specialty DSP.

Bombs Away Birthday

Bombs Away Birthday 01

Happy New Year everyone!  Today’s card uses the Photopolymer stamp Bombs Away Birthday This set can only be found under the Photopolymer link on the web site – but it’s worth the search!  It’s hard to tell in the photo but the fringe on the side is cut from Silver foil paper and really shines!

The base is Whisper White with Silver dot Vellum over the top.  Then I added some In Color sequins.  The ribbon was the White Satin ribbon – colored with the lightest Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker.  To make the record, I punched a 2 1/2″ circle and then traced several Circle Framelits to make the “grooves.”

Can you see them?  This card completes a Creative Crew challenge on Splitcoast to use the fringe scissors 🙂  You can play along too by adding the keyword CCREW0115CF, CreativeCrew, SUO.  Hugs, Fran

You Plus Me Sneak Peek

You Plus Me 01

Happy New Years eve!  This little card is done on a notecard ( 5 x 3 1/2) which makes the assembly very easy.  I used a new set from the upcoming Occasions Mini called You Plus Me and some non-tradional Valentine colors – Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar.  My favorite part was sprinkling the little In Color sequins across the front.  The washi tape is from Sweet Sadie.  I just can’t wait for January 6 when the Occasions catalog “goes live!”  Wishing you a wonderful New Year.  Hugs, Fran

More Happy Things

A Happy Thing 02

Love, love, love this little bird in the Saleabration set – A Happy Thing!  I used Blendies to color him, cut him out,  and set me on the Hardwood background.  The design is the same as this card.  Hope you’re enjoying the Holidays – I am!  But I’m glad to get back in my craft room too!  Hugs, Fran

Saleabration – A Happy Thing

A Happy Thing 01

A Happy Thing will be available for FREE during Saleabration – January 6-March 31! For every $50 you spend, you will get to pick a free item from the Salebration catalog.  It’s a really cute set, especially for Blendabilities.  Here I stamped the image 3 times and colored it with Daffodil Delight and Wild Wasabi Blendies.  The background is done with Harwood.  Then I added some Dazzling Details to make the lemons sparkle!  Hugs, Fran

Sneak Peek From the Herd

From the Herd 01

Time for a sneak peek!  This is From the Herd – a set coming out in the Occasions Mini starting January 6th!  (Can you believe we’re talking about a new year?)  This fun set has a main image and lots of cute, cute sayings.  I chose to make a window card with the Oval Framelits so the animals could peek through.  The Crumb Cake card stock was stamped with the Hardwood background stamp.  I used a ruler to draw lines and add “nails.”

Since the image is large, I added the inside greeting to the opposite side of the front greeting.  The animals were colored with Blendabilities – there are new colors in the catalog!!

Stuffed Turkey

Mingle All the Way 04

My second card for Karen Burniston’s Design Team challenge is for Thanksgiving.  I used her Circle Accordion die and lots of punches to create a turkey!  My turkey is punched from Cajun Craze, Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso and Crushed Curry. The Designer Series paper is SU’s Color Me Autumn.  I went around the circle with the KB Rings Frame Edges 1 and lots of Cajun Craze Candy Dots.  The leaves are punched from the SU Bird punch and finished off with an Early Espresso button and twine.

Inside shows off a greeting from Mingle All the Way (Holiday Mini).  I hope you’ll jump over to Karen’s Facebook page to see an “entire year” of ideas from all the designers!

Bright & Beautiful New Year

Bright&Beautiful 06

Today starts the Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge for December.  We were challenged to pick a holiday and make a card.  I chose New Years and Thanksgiving.  So here is New Years!.  For New Years, I used Karen’s Katie Label Accordion die turned  from portrait to landscape.  The video instructions can be found here.  The wonderful thing about this technique is that I could easily use Stampin Up’s Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series paper!  I embossed the stars and sentiment from Bright & Beautiful in gold embossing powder and die cut them with the matching Framelits.

For the middle panel, I just omitted  the line about Christmas.  The little stars come from the negative part of Karen’s Star Edges.  It makes a very shiny New Year’s wish!

Poppy Spiral Birthday

Really Good Greetings 04

My oldest daughter had a special birthday yesterday – 30!  This is the card I made her using Karen Burniston’s Spiral Pull Card die, Poppy the Owl character die and lots of star stamps.  The sentiment on the front is from Pictogram Punches and Poppy’s little camera is from Project Life Point and Click.  I added Crystal Effects to the lens.

Pull cards are so much fun to make and receive!  I used the spiral included with the die and added lots of stars!  To make Poppy on both sides, I simply copied an idea from Karen Burniston and made two, glued back to back.  The inside sentiment is from Really Good Greetings – which is a perfect name for this set.

Beach House Washi tape is across the bottom of the card.  We celebrate 4 birthdays in December so I better get busy!  Hugs, Fran
