Design Decisions

Crazy About You 04

This was design #1.  Crazy About You and Sassy Salutations.  The Basic Black is 4 1/4 x 11, Real Red 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4.  Simple design for a Stamp a Stack.

Crazy About You 03

Design #2 – Real Red 4 1/4 x 11, Basic Black 4 x 5 1/4, Whisper White 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 and “the other” flower from Crazy About You (and a blurry pic – sorry!)

Crazy About You 02

And this is the one I chose – Basic Black 4 1/4 x 11, Real Red 5 1/4 x 4, Whisper White 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  I could have gone either way – Black or Red base, but my kids liked the Black base best.  How about you?  Hugs, Fran

Crazy About You

Crazy About You 01

There is a cute card on page 106 of the new catalog using the Crazy About You stamp set for a square, maybe 4 x 4 , card.  I love the look but wanted a bigger card so I simply took the elements of that card and put it on a 4 1 /4 x 11 piece of Blushing Bride that was embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  You could also do the reverse – take a large sample and make it smaller.  Or take your favorite design and see how many different sizes you can do!  Stretch those stamp sets!  Hugs, Fran

Weathering the Storm Work of Art

Work of Art 04

This card uses the Sprinkles of Life cloud (punched out), Work of Art with markers for the rainbow and a sentiment from Six Sided sampler!  The rainbow is simply colored onto the Work of Art stamp using Stampin Write markers.  Then tie a piece of Baker’s Twine and add some of the cute Epoxy stickers colored with Copics or Sharpie markers.  I know I cased the idea for this card – and I usually write myself notes when I do – but I can’t find it!  So if you know where I saw the original idea, let me know!

Many Candles

Build a Birthday 04

Candles, candles, everywhere!  I stamped candles from Build a Birthday across the front of this card in Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder and added flames in Crushed Curry.  The strip under the sentiment is actually the Cherry on Top Washi tape with Whisper White under it.  (yes, I could have used the DSP – no, I didn’t even think about it!)

Build a Birthday 04 detail

A little Dazzling Details on the flames to make them sparkle.  The scallop border punch is retired (wwwwhhhhaaatt???)  and the sentiment is die cut using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits.  A little birthday fun.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge

Flower Patch 02

We are still playing the name game for the Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge – matching the first initials of our names to her dies!  For this card I chose the Fancy Label Accordion and Fancy Frames dies.  The front is the beautiful Butterfly Label peel off sticker done with Microfine Glitter and colored with Copic makers.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up’s Flower Patch.  The colors I used on this card are Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.

Flower Patch 02 open

To bring the focus to the sentiment, I simply punched out a circle to add to the Fancy Label die.  On the inside left, I slide a thin strip of Pool Party under the Star Fancy Frame Edges to make it stand out. (and to get the letter “S” in the card!)

Rhinestones add some bling to the center of each flower – because everything looks better with bling!  Hop over to Karen’s Facebook page to see the rest of the creations for this challenge!  Hugs, Fran

Minty Wishes

You've Got This 03

This beautiful Mint Macaron card is a case of one done by Lyssa Zwolanek.  Using Very Vanilla, the image is stamped and the paper torn around it to give a nice soft look. To make the sentiment darker, I simply stamped it several time using a Stamp a Ma Jig to keep it in the same place.  The bundle of twine under the ribbon is white Baker’s Twine run over a Mint Macaron ink pad.  Make sure to pull it through some paper towels after inking to remove the excess ink.  Finish it off with some of the new Mint Macaron ribbon – beautiful!  Hugs, Fran

Age Awareness Bag

Age Awareness 02

One more Gift Bag Punch Board bag – a shaker bag.  I used the Deco Label Framelits to make the opening.  Take 2 piece of acetate (a window sheet or packaging work too), use tape around the edges to make a pouch and fill it with stars and confetti.  Attach it to the back of the opening.  Stamp the ballon and adhere it to the front and add a sentiment.  You could use lots of different framelits!  Hope you have a great weekend!  Hugs, Fran

Make it Tall

Fabulous Four 01

Here’s another Gift Bag Punch Board bag made with a 12 x 12 piece of Designer Series paper (this one’s retired – but any paper will work!)  I cut a long strip of Whisper 3 1/2 x 11 and stamped the Celebrate from Fabulous Four, masking off the the small words underneath except for the last one, In Mint Macaron.  Flag the end and attach it to the top of the bag.  Cut a butterfly out of Perfect Plum and add some rhinestones to the body.  Add a few flags at the top of the banner and tie it off with the super soft Mint Macaron ribbon.  Love this color combo – Mint Macaron, Perfect Plum, Kraft and Whisper White.  Hugs, Fran

Build a Big Birthday

Build a Birthday 02

This is a 9 x 4 inch card – a BIG birthday wish!  Using Build a Birthday and Perfect Pennants, it’s a stack of birthday goodness.  Since Build a Birthday is a photopolymer stamp, it’s easy to stack them up. I add some stitching up and down one side and some Crystal Effects.  The Designer Series Paper is Cherry on Top. And the Envelope Punch Board makes an envelope for this side!  Hugs, Fran

Build a Birthday Bag

Build a Birthday 01

Here’s a Build a Birthday gift bag made with the Irresistible Specialty paper.  There is new Color Me Irresistible paper in the new catalog.  To to do this bag, I cut my paper 6 x 12 and covered the entire piece with painters tape.  Brayer or sponge on the color on the first area of paper and remove the next piece of tape.  Wipe off the paper to get the embossed white to show through. Use the tape to cover the area you just did and brayer on more color.  You will need to gently wipe off the ink from the tape too. I chose the colors in the Cherry on Top DSP  – Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder. Pool Party and Crushed Curry.  Then I used the Gift Bag Punch Board to finish the bag.  It’s a fun look for a small effort – perfect!  Hugs, Fran
