Karen Burniston Design Challenge Day Two

PIU GCH Accordion 01 open

Let’s Celebrate!  I used the Sleigh Gift Card die flat on the front of the soon-to-be-released Gift Card Holder Acordion die.  The beautiful frame fits as one piece on the front.  The sleigh is done in Stampin Up’s Silver Foil and Red Glimmer paper.  It really shines.

The inside holds a gift card!  The tabs to hold the card are built in so there’s no guess work involved.  I love to give gift cards!  Pop over to Karen’s Facebook page to see the rest of the designs for this month.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston September Challenge Day One

Haunt Ya Later 05

This month’s Karen Burniston’s Design Challenge is Celebrate – with Frame Edges! I chose the Katie Label Accordion Album with the matching Katie Stars Frame Edges – and it’s a shaker card!  This “too cute to be scary” vampire is from the Haunt Ya Later set in the Holiday Mini.  He’s surrounded by Black Glimmer paper stars – the same stars from the frame – sequins, and some long glitter.  (I”m not really sure what to call it!)  The vampire is colored with Copics. I used the retired SU bat punch with more Glimmer paper and a BIG jewel!

The colors are a bit muted in the pictures because of the glare from the window sheet on the shaker.  The purple is Elegant Eggplant.  I love how the space on the Katie Label die accommodates so many things!  Check out Karen’s Facebook Page to see the rest of the team’s designs!  Hugs, Fran

Haunt Ya Later

Haunt Ya Later 01

A spooky treat!  This candy bar pull up is certainly looking more “cute” than “spook!”  The Mummy is the easiest design to make – strips of card stock, sponge the edges, start layering!   I stamped the sentiment from Haunt Ya Later and added to the front, added some 1″ eyes and little gogglie things – and it’s ready to scare and share 🙂

The Rubber Stamping and Scrapping Garage sale is this Friday and Saturday!  If you’re in Lexington, Ky you need to come check it out!

Hugs, Fran

Kind Koala

Kind Koahla 01

I forgot to add these photos to this post!  These are the close ups of the cards in the backpack.  I used Kind Koala, colored them with Copics – changing the color and buttons on the flowers for each one.  The paper in the Schoolhouse DSP.

Happy Labor Day!  I hope you’re not laboring – but enjoying the time with family and friends 🙂  Hugs, Fran

All Ye Faithful

All Ye Faithful 01

This is a new set in the Holiday Mini called All Ye Faithful.  I saw several cards using the image in a an ornament – all beautiful – and using this piece of vellum from the  Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum Stack.   Using Night of Navy, I made things a bit more “stream line” since we will be doing this card in the September Stamp and Stack.  Hugs, Fran

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C302

I’ve been asked to be the guest designer with the “Crazies” over at Crazy 4 Challenges this month!  The first challenge is to make a card showing how you’re going to celebrate Labor Day.  I will be spending time at our farm having a bonfire – and that means s’mores!  I thought I make a card for my niece who won’t be able to join us.

PIU Brownie 05

I used Karen Burniston’s Brownie the Cow (we raised black angus!) and Agatha Edges on the front with a SU sentiment from Wetlands.  The leaves are from Karen’s All Season Tree.

And here’s the inside – Lots of Pops with a computer generated sentiment.

The logs are from the Pop It Ups Fence Pop Stand and the flames are Cocoa the Horse’s mane and tail and Wiliam the Goat’s goat-tee!

So that’s where I’ll be – sitting with the cows making s’mores!

Check out all the other Crazy’s designs for this challenge and play along!  Hugs, Fran

Welcome to the Creative Circle September Blog Hop!  This month we are using the Backpack #2 pattern.  You will have a chance to win this pattern at the end of this post.

It’s a fun, easy pattern that holds 3 cards with envelopes.  I chose to use the Schoolhouse Designer Series paper and Kind Koala stamp set. The cards are the same design in different colors.  They were so much fun to color 🙂

Creative Circle September 2015

The backpack is large enough to be used for more things than cards.  It could easily hold a gift – and be decorated to suit your recipient!

I put a gift card size pocket on the back –

Halloween Gift Bag

Witche's Night 01

And last but not least, my Halloween version of this bag!  I used the Witch’s Night stamp set and Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper.  The image and matting were cut with the Lots of Labels Framelit die.  This one is my favorite 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Little Christmas Gift Bags

Cup of Cheer 02

Continuing on from yesterday!  This gift bag uses the new Cup of Cheer stamp set and the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper.  The image was inked with Stampin Write Markers.

And this one got a big “thumbs down” from my youngest – the critic!  Ha!  But here it is, in case it inspires you to do something else!  Hugs, Fran
