Bunny Business
Lucky the Rabbit sending thanks! This cute little Karen Burniston character with his basket of carrots is just too cute! Again, I’ve paired Stampin Up’s B.Y.O.P. with Karen’s Pop It Ups Gift Card Holder. It’s just too perfect 🙂 The Designer Series Paper is Farmer’s Market and (again) is perfect for Lucky!
I did this one with 3 panels.
Love it when everything comes together! Hugs, Fran
Karen Burniston Designer Challenge Day 2
Characters in Costumes – Day 2 🙂 And which holiday makes us think of costumes more than Halloween? So starting with a 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 card, stamped with this awesome image from Stampin Up’s Six Sayings (hostess set in the Holiday Mini)
And here are the characters! Everyone is dressed up in their costume for Halloween and popping up on a Lots of Pops die. The All Season Tree is in the background. The wagon is hand cut.
Cheepers the Chicken is dressed as a cowboy. Chilly the Penguin is wearing an Owl mask. William the Goat is wearing funny glasses and a bow tie. And Cocoa the Horse is dressed up as bandit.
Hope there’s lots of chocolate involved! Take time to check out all the other Characters in Costumes on Karen’s Facebook Page. Hugs, Fran
Karen Burniston Designer Challenge Costume Characters Day 1
This month’s Karen Burniston Designer challenge is to dressed up some characters! I’m starting out with Poppy the Owl dressed up for graduation. I just love how the Pop It Ups Gift Card Holder goes with Stampin Up’s B.Y.O.P stamp set.
I chose a combo of red, white and blue to match one of our local high schools. Working backwards – I’ll now have to find a matching gift card! The border on the card comes with the Gift Card Holder die! That’s easy 🙂
Poppy’s graduation cap is a small square with a Basic Black Candy dot in the center. The tassel cord was cut free-hand and the the red tassel is a small piece of Real Red with some slits cut into it, rolled up. The diploma is a scrap of Whisper White, rolled and tied with Baker’s Twine.
To make the star, punch 3 star. Hold 2 of them together and cut a sliver out of the center of both at the same time. Remove the center and alternate the colors.
Hope over to Karen’s Facebook page to see the other characters decked out in their finest! Hugs, Fran
Shaking Up Christmas
Among the Branches
Here’s my version of this card! The Woodland Textured impressions embossing folder is such a great folder and it works perfectly with Among the Branches. (That’s why it’s a bundle!) I used some traditional autumn colors – Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry. To get the distressed edge on the burlap ribbon, simply trim the edges off of both sides and pull a few threads. Then send it off to a friend to wish them a Happy Fall! Hugs, Fran
A Gift for for Baby
A gift card holder for a baby! This uses the fun set B.Y.O.P. (Buy your own present) and Karen Burniston’s new Pop It Ups Gift Card Holder die (coming soon) – with cute, little Snowball the Sheep. The paper is Watermelon Wonder from the Designer Series Paper Stack with a matching In Color Blossom Accent.
I just mixed and matched the patterns of the DSP and used the matching Watermelon Wonder ink.
This set goes so well with this die! Hugs, Fran
Creative Circle October Blog Hop
This month, Liz has created a Halloween Haunted House file! It’s a cute decoration that has plenty of room for at least 3 cards.
I made it up with the Haunt Ya Later stamp set and Happy Haunting Designer Series paper. Here’s the house, with the sweet vampire at the door. The ghosts are cut from the DSP.
My cards are all shakers. After doing this card, I couldn’t resist doing more! The shaker piece is cut using the Deco Label Collection and filled with sequins, stars and more of that glitter thread stuff (technical term!)
I cut a spider web doily into quarters (just like the Haunted House) and used the pieces inside of the shakers.
You can purchase the pattern here and/or leave a comment here for a chance to win a cut out kit of your own. What was your favorite Halloween costume? Winner announced in 2 weeks.
I have several favorite costumes – my children have always loved to dress up. But the most unique costume was the year my youngest went as a pin cushion. I’ll have to find a picture 🙂
Now hop on over to see the other creations on this blog hop! You don’t want to miss it!

Simple Ornament
This pretty little Christmas card features Embellished Ornaments and the 6 x 6 Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack. It’s a great paper stack – Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Real Red, Smoky Slate and Whisper White in 4 patterns. It’s a lot of paper and a lot of colors! This card will be one in my October Stamp a Stack. Hugs, Fran
Crazy 4 Challenges C4C305 – Show Me the Blue
Time for Crazy 4 Challenges! September’s birthstone in Sapphire – Show me the blue!
My blue is Soft Sky and Night of Navy – and Christmas! I used the Pop It Ups House Pivot card, Holiday House and the Stampin Up Snow Place set from the Holiday Mini catalog.
I added an extra 1 3/4″ to the side to make a fold in piece for the sentiment. It tucks right up to the fence so it’s hidden when the card is closed. The cute snowmen are out decorating with some Night of Navy light covered in Dazzling Details. Make sure to check out all the cards for this challenge – and play along! Hugs, Fran
