Goodbye 2015

PIU Farm Animals all front

It is true that the older I get, the faster the years fly by!  This has been a fun year – full of Stampin Up, Pop It Ups, Copics, 3-D and lots and lots (and lots) of paper.  Thought I’d share a few favorites from 2015 and get ready for 2016.  The card above was a favorite Pop It Ups.  Love the animals – love creating scenes.  Love what’s coming 🙂

2CuteInk Scarecrow 01

I’ve had fun with my Copic markers.  The image above is form 2CuteInk.  I’ve traveled to classes, work online over at Kit and Clowder, and just really enjoy the “coloring craze!”

Creative Circle September 2015

Then there’s 3-D with the Creative Circle.  These have been lots of fun and there’s more to look forward to in 2016.

And FRIENDS!  That is what has made this year the best!  All the people who play with me in my classroom and all the people I play with online.  That’s the best of 2015.

So looking forward to 2016.  SAB starts soon – the best fun of Stampin UP!

SAB Hello 02

Wishing you the best of times in the New Year!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston December Challenge Day 2

PIU Christmas front

Everyone is coming for Christmas!  Today my card features all the farm critters (plus Jolly) in true Home for Christmas style.  This 6 x 6 card is big – but so’s the family 🙂

PIU Christmas left front

Brownie is sporting a Santa-stash and glasses.  Cheeper is holding a candy cane.  And Jolly is bringing a present of cheese.  To attach the characters, the bottom layer (Brownie) is flat on the card.  The next layer is (Cheepers) is attached to Brownie.  And then Jolly is up on pop dots.  This gives it looks of dimension without being crazy.

PIU Christmas right front

William is helping with the garland and Snowball is wearing his Santa hat.  All the presents are popped up. The sentiment is from Project Life by Stampin Up Seasonal Snapshot 2015.

PIU Christmas open

Inside, Cocoa the Horse is already home!  The garland  – which is pieces from the wreath in the Sleigh Gift Card die set – surrounds the Agatha Edge at the top.

The barn is decorated!  The little candle is the chimney from the House die.  The sentiment is Stampin Up’s Cozy Christmas!

Karen Burniston December Challenge Day 1

This month the Karen Burniston Design Challenge is “Home for the Holidays.”

PIU House Pivot 02

For my first card, I went with the House Pivot die and did a triple pivot.  The papers are EDC Shimmer Sheets on the left and Stampin Up’s Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that the two greens matched perfectly! Since each paper is delicate, I started with a white card base and adhered them to that.  And yes, on the foil vellum I added the tiniest bit of glue under each tree and let it dry!  It’s Christmas!  The greeting is Lots of Joy.  The bottom “snow” is EDC Cool White glitter.

PIU House Pivot 02 open

It’s very shiny!  That’s my reflection in the center 🙂  On the inside we find the neighbors – Jolly and Jolly – singing Christmas carols!

PIU House Pivot 02 tree

The neighborhood has an embossed tree.  Very fancy for these parts!

PIU House Pivot 02 house

The mice live in brick houses- no plain mice holes around here!.

PIU House Pivot 02 Jolly

Each Jolly sports a Santa Hat with a sequin and a hand cut music book.

The Doily is made with the Paris Edges die.  The Jolly’s are ready for a fun evening!

Rockin’ Around the Sleigh

PIU IPhone Sleigh 01

I’m still using sparkly, shiny card stock!  I need a gift card holder for the season – always need them – so I pulled out some Brushed Silver card stock, some retired silver embossed Designer Series paper and Karen Burniston’s Pop It Ups dies and made this one.

PIU IPhone Sleigh 01 open

Jolly the Mouse and Rudy the Reindeer are rockin’ out as they help Santa load the Pop It Up Sleigh with gift card holder!  The sleigh is Red Foil and Red Glimmer paper.  Rudy’s IPod is hand cut and the little records are circle punches.  The nice thing about this Pop It Up is it has a little side Pop It Up stand for Rudy.

Jolly has his Santa glasses on 🙂  Rudy’s nose is coated with Crystal Effects.  Lots of shine – lots of fun!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston November Design Team Challenge Day 2

Today I used Karen’s Confetti Tunnel card video to make my card!  This was fun!

PIU Confetti Tunnel 01 front

I started with the Gift Card Accordion die and the Flourishes frame.  Whiskers the Cat is celebrating with a hand cut cake that is spilling over into the confetti tunnel.

Here’s the open card.  The paper is a retired (very retired) Stampin Up paper.

Karen Burniston November Design Team Challenge Day 1

This month’s challenge was to use one of Karen’s videos as the start of our cards!  I chose Karen’s Pop It Ups Spiral Pull Card video for this one.

Spiral Pull Card 03

Here is Jolly the Mouse waiting for Christmas on the front of a Spiral Pull Card and a clock using the Clock and Gears die.  The paper is Stampin Up’s Season of Cheer Designer Series paper. The card size is 6 x 8.

Spiral Pull Card 03 open

When you open the card, candy canes spiral out!  The canes are “double sided” so it looks nice on both sides.

Spiral Pull Card 03 Jolly

Even though Jolly is on both sides, he’s got a candy cane on the front and…..

a present on the other side.  Doesn’t he look excited!  Make sure you check out the other ideas from the team on Karen’s Facebook page.

Deck the Halls Chilly Gift Card Holder

I’m excited to share with you a cute idea using Karen Burniston’s Gift Card Accordion with Chilly the Penguin.

Here is the card in the closed position:

PIU Gift Hard Holder 02 open

And here it is opened up:

PIU GHC 02 open

Instructions:

Use the Gift Card Accordion Die cut to cut the following pieces:
(2) full pages from sturdy red cardstock
(2) pieces from patterned paper, using the paper over the inner rectangle only. Trim to just the rectangles and glue the patterned paper rectangles over the red cardstock pages, taking care to line up the tuck slots on Page 2 perfectly to be able to add a gift card later.
Use the companion Flourish Gift Frame die set to die cut 3 white Flourish Frames. Adhere the frames to the pages, including one for the front of the album when closed.
Assemble the Gift Card Accordion according to the package directions or by watching Karen’s assembly video here: Gift Card Accordion
Die cut Chilly the Penguin using white, black and orange cardstock and assemble him. Make slits between his body and arms. Using gold thread, wrap Chilly as shown.

Die cut the string of Christmas lights from the Holiday House die set four times (1 set each in red, blue, green and yellow) and trim into individual bulbs. For the bulbs that are adhered to Chilly, simply glue them over the thread. For any bulbs that are hanging off of Chilly, sandwich the thread between two bulbs adhered back-to-back

PIU GCH 02 side
Die cut the largest decorator tree from the Evergreen Pivot Card set and sponge green ink through the die to create the swirl pattern, Adhere the tree to the page with a pop dot and add a glitter star.
Stamp “Santa Says” in green and “Shop!” in red using the Merry & Bright clear stamps. Die cut the circle and add to the page.
Die cut 4 presents and bows using the Evergreen Pivot Card set – one each in yellow, red, green and blue. Assemble the presents and adhere them to Page 2, being careful not to cover the tuck slots that will hold the gift card.

Add your gift card and make someone smile! Hope you’ve enjoyed today’s project!

Peaceful Pines Gift Card Holder

Peaceful Pines 02

Silver and White – such a pretty color combination for a Christmas card, but SO hard to photograph!  This Gift Card Holder is made with Karen Burniston’s Gift Card Holder die and Stampin Up’s Peaceful Pine stamp set.  The trees are stamped in Versamark and silver embossing powder.  The dotted stamp is the medium tree, but I used the small tree die to cut them out.  The little packages are embossed in silver and the ribbon in colored with a Real Red Stampin Write Marker.  The star on top is Red Glimmer paper.  The sentiment is from Versatile Christmas and is also embossed in silver.

The Gift Card Holder was cut out of Heavy White card stock and then again in Silver Foil with the center trimmed away.  The frame was cut in Whisper White.

Peaceful Pines 02 open

On the  inside I reversed the order and cut the frame and a solid from Silver Foil.  It’s so shiny!  And that’s one of the best parts of the holidays 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Bunny Business

BYOP 05

Lucky the Rabbit sending thanks!  This cute little Karen Burniston character with his basket of carrots is just too cute!  Again, I’ve paired Stampin Up’s B.Y.O.P. with Karen’s Pop It Ups Gift Card Holder.  It’s just too perfect 🙂  The Designer Series Paper is Farmer’s Market and (again) is perfect for Lucky!

I did this one with 3 panels.

Haunted Barn

Haunted Barn 01 front

Are you ready to decorate for Halloween?  How about a haunted barn with decked out characters?  This barn is from SVGCuts.com and is called – Haunted Barn!  I used some retired Stampin Up Halloween Designer Series paper and LOTS of black card stock to create this cute 3-D.

Haunted Barn left 01

There are some really cute details – the corn stalks, lanterns and bats, to name a few.

Haunted Barn 01 Cheepers

And a Haunted Barn needs haunted barnyard animals!  I used Karen Burniston’s Pop It Ups characters to create my scene.  First is Cheepers the Chicken appearing as a zombie.

Haunted Barn 01 Brownie

Brownie the cow is a vampire.  His cape was hand cut from washi tape over card stock.

Haunted Barn 01 William

And William the Goat is the devil 🙂  His cape is cut the same way as Brownie’s.

Haunted Barn 01 lit

The barn is lit from within and really looks cute at night.

Haunted Barn 01

And to make this entire ensemble even better, all the characters are on sale this week!!  Happy haunted shopping spree 🙂 Hugs, Fran
