Botanical Blooms is a beautiful stamp set in the upcoming mini catalog AND it has a matching die set! Here I used just the stamps to make this birthday card. The colors are Hello Honey, Mint Maccaron and Mossy Meadow. It’s a fast card and would be easy to make lots of them at the same time. The Occasions catalog starts on the 5th! Hugs, Fran
Birthday Blooms
Birthday Blooms and Timeless Textures – both in the upcoming mini catalog – are so pretty together! I used Smokey Slate, Basic Gray and Archival Black to create the background. The flower was stamped in Stazon on watercolor paper and watercolored with an aquapainter and ink pads in Blushing Bride and Garden Green. After it dried, I used my Wink Of Stella clear to sparkle the entire flower. I got carried away and added Dazzling Details in the center of the flower and around the highlights 🙂 These stamps will be available on the 5th! Hugs, Fran
Happy New Year
Happy 2016! Let’s start the New Year with a Sale a bration card. This is Hello and it’s available free with a $50 purchase from January 5 – February 15. The little flowers are from another SAB set called Botanicals For You. It’s available from January 5 – March 31. Check those dates! There are some products available for a limited time during the limited time sale! I wanted to do a multi-colored Hello, but didn’t have a multicolored pad. So I inked the stamp up with Lost Lagoon and then used a sponge to sponge on Blackberry Bliss from one side, letting it blend as it reached half way. The colors are taken from another free SAB product, Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper. Lots of freebies going on here!
Best wishes for the New Year! Hugs, Fran
Goodbye 2015
It is true that the older I get, the faster the years fly by! This has been a fun year – full of Stampin Up, Pop It Ups, Copics, 3-D and lots and lots (and lots) of paper. Thought I’d share a few favorites from 2015 and get ready for 2016. The card above was a favorite Pop It Ups. Love the animals – love creating scenes. Love what’s coming 🙂
I’ve had fun with my Copic markers. The image above is form 2CuteInk. I’ve traveled to classes, work online over at Kit and Clowder, and just really enjoy the “coloring craze!”
Then there’s 3-D with the Creative Circle. These have been lots of fun and there’s more to look forward to in 2016.
And FRIENDS! That is what has made this year the best! All the people who play with me in my classroom and all the people I play with online. That’s the best of 2015.
So looking forward to 2016. SAB starts soon – the best fun of Stampin UP!
Wishing you the best of times in the New Year! Hugs, Fran
Karen Burniston December Challenge Day 2
Everyone is coming for Christmas! Today my card features all the farm critters (plus Jolly) in true Home for Christmas style. This 6 x 6 card is big – but so’s the family 🙂
Brownie is sporting a Santa-stash and glasses. Cheeper is holding a candy cane. And Jolly is bringing a present of cheese. To attach the characters, the bottom layer (Brownie) is flat on the card. The next layer is (Cheepers) is attached to Brownie. And then Jolly is up on pop dots. This gives it looks of dimension without being crazy.
William is helping with the garland and Snowball is wearing his Santa hat. All the presents are popped up. The sentiment is from Project Life by Stampin Up Seasonal Snapshot 2015.
Inside, Cocoa the Horse is already home! The garland – which is pieces from the wreath in the Sleigh Gift Card die set – surrounds the Agatha Edge at the top.
The barn is decorated! The little candle is the chimney from the House die. The sentiment is Stampin Up’s Cozy Christmas!
Make sure to check out all the other Home for Christmas cards on Facebook – Karen Burniston, Designer.
Karen Burniston December Challenge Day 1
This month the Karen Burniston Design Challenge is “Home for the Holidays.”
For my first card, I went with the House Pivot die and did a triple pivot. The papers are EDC Shimmer Sheets on the left and Stampin Up’s Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the two greens matched perfectly! Since each paper is delicate, I started with a white card base and adhered them to that. And yes, on the foil vellum I added the tiniest bit of glue under each tree and let it dry! It’s Christmas! The greeting is Lots of Joy. The bottom “snow” is EDC Cool White glitter.
It’s very shiny! That’s my reflection in the center 🙂 On the inside we find the neighbors – Jolly and Jolly – singing Christmas carols!
The neighborhood has an embossed tree. Very fancy for these parts!
The mice live in brick houses- no plain mice holes around here!.
Each Jolly sports a Santa Hat with a sequin and a hand cut music book.
The Doily is made with the Paris Edges die. The Jolly’s are ready for a fun evening!

End of Year Sale
Rockin’ Around the Sleigh
I’m still using sparkly, shiny card stock! I need a gift card holder for the season – always need them – so I pulled out some Brushed Silver card stock, some retired silver embossed Designer Series paper and Karen Burniston’s Pop It Ups dies and made this one.
Jolly the Mouse and Rudy the Reindeer are rockin’ out as they help Santa load the Pop It Up Sleigh with gift card holder! The sleigh is Red Foil and Red Glimmer paper. Rudy’s IPod is hand cut and the little records are circle punches. The nice thing about this Pop It Up is it has a little side Pop It Up stand for Rudy.
Jolly has his Santa glasses on 🙂 Rudy’s nose is coated with Crystal Effects. Lots of shine – lots of fun! Hugs, Fran
Counting the Days
I can’t believe I forgot to show you this yesterday! This Christmas Countdown tree was part of our Creative Circle group for yesterday’s Blog Hop! I made mine with Always Artichoke card stock and Home for Christmas Designer Series paper. My base is a box lid 🙂 I thought I’d use the entire box – but it seemed too tall. All the numbers were done in My Memories Suite and punched out with a 3/4 circle punch.
I hot glued Christmas ornaments in-between the boxes – very random. Use hot glue because it will allow you to angle the Christmas balls up off of the boxes.
I topped it off with a wooden star!
Glad I remembered that I forgot to share this! Hugs, Fran
Creative Circle December Blog Hop
Welcome to the Creative Circle December Blog Hop. This month we did a darling box that holds a pop up gift card!
I used the absolutely beautiful Gold Foil paper, Winter Specialty Designer Series paper and the Jolly Christmas stamp set. It’s so shiny!
I used a Starbucks gift card and filled my box with some special coffee lovers treats – and an ornament. This will make a sweet gift. It’s really fun how the gift card pops up!
My insert is also made with the Gold Foil – and it has a good “heft” for this project!. You can find the pattern and tutorial here.
Make sure to check out all the other designs for this pattern!
