Beauty Abounds

I LOVE this die! Absolutely love it! I started by casing the cards in the catalog because I find that the easiest way to get going. This one uses the entire die with one of the stamps used behind it.

This one was done by creating an inked background and using just a piece of the die to create the focal point. So much fun 🙂

This one was created by just floating ink on watercolor paper and letting it gently blend. The sentiment is stamped on vellum that is backed with adhesive sheet. A few stamps at the bottom finish it off.

Now that I’ve cased – I can move on to creating! Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team December Challenge

My inky creation for this month’s KB Design Team Challenge is features the Karen Burniston Tag Book and the Merry Christmas word die.  The little snowmen are from the Mama Elephant Snowman Agenda.  I used Distressed Oxides to make the snowy background.

Inside the snowmen are playing across the Tag Book!

Here’s a close up of them.  I added a few on the outside edges and the hinges.

It’s such a great die!  While this one can be mailed, I’m tying it to a package.  Make sure to check out all the design team’s cards tomorrow on Karen’s blog!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Design Team September Challenge

This month’s challenge for the Karen Burniston Design Team is Houses.  I started with the new Signs of Santa set from Stampin Up and some of the matching stickers to create on scene on a KB Crosshatch Circle.  He is stamped and colored with Copic markers. The paper used is the coordinating paper for the Signs of Santa – Santa’s Workshop Specialty paper.  (The stripe is flocked!)

This card is 5 x 7.  Not sure if you can tell but Santa is up on an action wobbler.  You gotta dance when reading such a great list!

Inside is the new Karen Burniston House Pivot die!The houses are decorated with some fun paper from the Santa’s Workshop pack and a variety of stamped and colored plus fussy cut from the paper images of Santa’s busy town!  The white snowflakes are the new Stampin Up Blizzard background die layered white on white.

You can see how the pivot houses attach to the top.  Easy to do!!

The little elves go across the bottom and hang from the support of the houses on top.  The rest of the cute sentiment is on the North Pole!  I hope you’ll check out all the other “Houses” this month!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston + Darkroom Door Blog Hop

Today is the Karen Burniston Design Hop with Darkroom Door.  I chose the Garden Bird stamp, Artsy Mosaic Collage stamp with the matching stencil.  The background is done over patterned paper (retired SU) with the Artsy Mosaic stamp and stencil.  The bird was stamped twice – once on the paper and again on white – colored with Copic markers and fussy cut.  Then it’s paper pieced over the stamped image.  The sentiment is from the KB Word Set 2 – Birthday die.

Inside I used the Karen Burniston Upsy Daisy die to show off more birds from the Darkroom Door Garden Bird set.  Rainbow order just seemed like a fun idea 🙂

The middle panel hangs from the other panels on some Baker’s Twine.

Both Darkroom Door and Karen Burniston will be giving away a prize packs, with winners randomly chosen from ALL of the blog comments received by Sunday, June 29th, 2018.  Lots of chances to win some goodies, so just leave a comment on this post or any other blog hop post to enter!

Paper Pros Challenge June – Food and Drink

The Paper Pros challenge this month is Food and Drink and I have a cute KB Circle Charm for you.  I started with some new SU paper – Broadway Bound – and the Karen Burniston Circle Charm die and Coffee Charms.  The cupcake is fussy cut from the paper but you could also use the KB Birthday Charms die to make one 🙂

Inside the Birthday Charm Charm cupcake is suspended in the middle.  The sentiment is from SU Happy Birthday Gorgeous.

Here’s a closer look and the center with the “lights” turned down so the vibrant colors don’t knock your eyes out!  Make sure to check out the other Pros and we eat, drink and be merry this month!.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston – Brutus Monroe – Rose Border

This 5 x 5  card is done with the Brutus Monroe Rose Border heat embossed with gold powder across the front. It’s such an elegant image!

I paired it with the Karen Burniston Katherine Label popping up the sentiment.  The Rose Border continues across the bottom of the card, set off with gold foil.

Look how detailed this image is!

The sentiment is Stampin Up and looks beautiful moving across the card as it’s opened.  The embossed background is Stampin Up.  Make sure to check back tomorrow for a give away!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston Sneak Peek – Upsy Daisy

There are new dies coming for Karen Burniston the beginning of June!  Here I’ve made a card using her Happy Birthday word die (currently available) and her new Upsy Daisy die!  The Happy Birthday is stacked 2 white and one green to give it some height.

You open this card and the mechanism lifts the two side and has a center that dangles from the Baker’s Twine!  The Daisys are a part of the set too!  For this card I used the dies in the set.  Aren’t they cute?  Stay tuned for more sneak peeks to come!  Hugs, Fran

Sneak Peek – Abstract Impressions

Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely women out there that hold special places in a child’s life!  Today I’m sharing a sneak peek of a new stamp set called Abstract Impressions.  I started with a Petal Pink base that has been embossed with a die from Springtime Impressions which coordinates with Abstract Impressions.  Instead of cutting the image, I used an embossing pad to simply make an impression.  The flowers are in Petal Pink and Calypso Coral and the grass is in Soft Sea Foam and Shade Spruce.  The sentiment is die cut with a die from Lily pad Lake. (You will use just the one piece a lot!)  Check back June 1 when these dies are available for purchase. Enjoy your day!  Hugs, Fran

You are One of a Kind

Here’s a sparkly mermaid card for someone special.  I started with Karen Burniston’s Spinner Square die, the Princess and Mermaid die and the Outdoor scenes die – and lots of glitter paper!.  The background was stamped with Stampin Up’s Playful Backgrounds stamp and then I went all the little bubbles with glossy accents. The mermaids are wearing green glitter paper tails to go with the blue glitter paper wave.

Inside a mermaid pops out to wish the birthday girl a special day!

I love how this die works!  Hugs, Fran
