Uncle Sam Pop N Cuts

Let’s celebrate the 4th of July with a Pop N Cuts card!  Karen Burniston has put a really cute template on her blog made to fit the exclusive SU Dress Form Pop Up – and he’s soooo cute!  I used the Stampin Up base die to make the front – along with the Make a Wish stamp set and Glimmer Paper for some star dies.

And here he is – inviting everyone to celebrate with him   The free template makes is easy to put him together.

Since I was so shamelessly casing Karen’s card – I changed the background and the placement of Uncle Sam’s hat.

I used a piece of window sheet to pop up the stars behind him.  I just cut some small slits in the fold of the table to create another level to pop up.  The blue stars are really silver stars colored with Night of Navy reinker and a sponge dauber.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Make a Wish
card stock – Whisper White, Brights, Subtles and Neutrals paper packs, Silver and Red Glimmer papers
Ink – Night of Navy, Real Red
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base and Dress Form insert, window sheet, Star die or punches. Uncle Sam template

So there you go – Uncle Sam wants YOU to create a Pop N Cut card!  Hugs, Fran

Whirly Twirly

Whirly Twirly seemed like a good title after all the craziness with the Retiring List being released yesterday!  So I decided to do a simple spinner card using Wishes Your Way from the Spring Mini and the cute little pinwheel Sizzlet.

I always laugh at myself when I use this technique because it’s fun to just sit here and spin the card back and forth

Supplies
Stamp Set – Wishes Your Way
card stock – Pacific Point, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade, Sunshine and Sprinkles DSP, Delightful Daffodil
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Cloudy Day EF, 1 3/4 circle punch, Pinwheel Sizzlit, Word Window punch

The tutorial for the spinner card can be found here.   Spin on crazy world!  Hugs, Fran

To get in on the fun, go to my store and start your order

The hostess code is V7SKPZ9X

Shimmer Mist

How do you store your Shimmer Mist and Smooch Spritz?  I keep mine in a Bell Jar without the lid insert – with a pretty ribbon tied around it   These are the mists that I make by filling a spritzer bottle about 3/4 of the way with 70% alcohol, about a 1/4 teaspoon of Shimmer Paint and reinker (if needed)

For the Spritzer bottles, I punch a 1/2″ circle of whatever color reinker I’ve added and adhere to the lid of the bottle.  You can rinse these bottles out and use them for other colors if you want – but they are only $2.95 for 2 bottles (126185) so I just designate a bottler for a color.

And here’s a fun idea!  The Shimmer Paints have a little ball inside the jar to help you stir them up.  When I’ve gone through the bottle of paint, I drop the ball into a Spritzer bottle and it helps stir my Shimmer Mist!

Can you see it in there?  It works!  Once you start spritzing things – it’s hard to stop!  Hugs, Fran

Sycamore Street Gate Fold

Here’s a version of the gate – fold card that Linda Bauwin showed me at Leadership.  What a great way to show off both sides of the pretty Sycamore Street Designer Series paper!  I wrote up my version of her instructions for the fold and you can find them here.  (It’s not the entire card – just the fold.)

Supplies
Stamp Set – Madison Avenue (SA
card stock – Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Sycamore Street DSP
Ink – Island Indigo
Etc – Simply Scored tool, Scallop circle punches, Sycamore Street button and ribbons

Hope you’ll give it a try – it’s fun!  Hugs, Fran

Looking Spec-tacular

I love this single stamp – Spec-tacular (
132673 ) and had fun making this gift bag.  First I removed the handles from the bag with a hobby blade and then stamped the image all over the front.  I did use a Stamp a Ma Jig even though it’s a clear mount stamp – I’m just type A that way!  For the glasses, I drew them on Basic Black card stock and then spritz the daylights out of them using a mixture of shimmer paint and 70% rubbing alcohol.  I did put acetate in the lens – and, of course, rhinestones!

To make the tag, I printed out the sentiment (!) in My Digital Studio on Crumb Cake card stock and then made a tag shape and spritzed it with the spritzer tool and an Early Espresso Stampin Write Marker.  To keep the tag in place (so it doesn’t cover up my glasses) I added a jewelry tag punch to the back.  Let me show you –

Now the little tag holds the big tag in place!  I used a glue gun and a strip of Crumb Cake to add the handle back onto the bag.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Spec-tacular (Single)
card stock – Crumb Cake, Basic Black, acetate
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Marker – Early Espresso
Etc -shimmer spray, MDS2, rhinestones, jewelry tag punch, spritzer tool and spritzer bottle

It would be cute with the glasses on the tag instead of the bag too.  Hhhhhmmm….might have to try that!  Hugs, Fran

Or maybe not!  Hugs, Fran
