Best of Butterflies

This image is from one of the 25th year anniversary stamp sets Best of Butterflies.  I thought I’d play around with some watercoloring – trying to decide which way to go with the colors.  Happy endings!  I just decided to leave it as is.

I stitched around the water color paper, added some splatters and……you guessed it…… some shimmer mist.  Just a bit.  Then I mounted it on another piece of water color paper.  So far, this is my favorite “Best of” stamp!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Best of Butterflies, Pursuit of Happiness
Card stock – water color paper
Ink – Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, So Saffron, Jet Black Staon
Etc – Aquapainter, sewing machine, Shimmer Mist

Remember to save your “25” sticker in each “Best of” set.  It’s a little tiny sticker on the image sheet – but you want to keep them.  When you’ve collected 6 of them you can choose a $14.95 set for free.  And we all love free stamps!  Hugs, Fran

Pursuit of Happiness

It’s a dark and dreary day so I thought I’d share something happy and bright with you.  This flower is made by folding my Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper in a circle.
Supplies
Stamp Set – Pursuit of Happiness
card stock – Baja Breeze, Lucky Limeade, Summer Smooched DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – White gel pen, Brights Button, Bird Punch

Here’s the video that I followed for the fold.  I ended up using the tiniest bit of hot glue to keep this pretty flower down.  Stay warm today!  Hugs, Fran

Summer Daisy

I am currently using up various pieces that, for one reason or another, weren’t used on projects but were kept in pile!  (Does this happen to you?)  One piece was a daisy made from the Daisy #2 Big Shot die.  I paired it with the upcoming Summer Smooches DSP.  Demonstrators were able to pre-order it in March – cool!  This DSP (and the suite that goes with it) will be available to you the month of April as a sneak peak purchase for the new Idea Book!  (Don’t forget that the current catalog is ending May 31st!)

The fabric brads are so nice – and they will only be available in April!  The color is wonky in the close up but I used More Mustard, Delightful Daffodil and So Saffron to make the daisy.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Pursuit of Happiness
card stock – Delightful Daffodil smooth and textured, More Mustard, So Saffron, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Summer Smooches DSP
Ink – Basic Black
Etc – Scallop Trim punch, Daisy #2 die, sewing machine, Summer Smooches brad

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Bee with a Bunch

Here’s another punch art card made with Kim Score’s punch art tutorial.  And here I’m going to show you what I did wrong – with the card, not the bee – and how I (sort of) fixed it!

The background is Awash with Flowers.  I got quite carried away and the flowers really overpower the poor little bee.  Behind the bunch of flower is a huge, Tempting Turquoise flower that completely overpowered the bouquet.  So I took a piece of vellum, scalloped the edge, pleated it and slide it behind the flowers to kind of cover up the TT flower.

The ribbon on the bouquet is white taffeta that I dyed Wisteria Wonder.

I used a lot Dazzling Details on the wings and flowers – just because!  It’s a busy bee card!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
