Soft Summer Gift Bag

Floral Wings 02

Here’s another Gift Bag Punch board idea using Floral Wings (hostess set.)  I used a 12 x 12 piece of Crumb Cake and created a bag as shown on the punch board.  Before I folded the score lines (while it’s still flat) I stamped some little flowers long the bottom of the bag in Crumb Cake ink.  Then I added a Rich Razzleberry banner, a butterfly in Lost Lagoon and Rich Razzleberry and a little sentiment banner.  The closure for the bag was punched before the entire bag was put together.  I measured down and marked the sides on each fold line and punched it using a 3/4″ punch.  Then just wrap the Lost Lagoon ribbon around it and tie into a bow.  Add some pearls and a piece of Baker’s Twine for antenna.  It’s nice to have some gift bags ready to fill when needed.  Hugs, Fran

Butterfly in Blue

Six Sided Sampler 05

Isn’t this a pretty case from the new catalog?  It uses Six-Sided Sampler and a die cut butterfly.  I’m always amazed at how versitile this can be.  The colors I used are Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe and Crumb Cake.  The strip of Glimmer paper just adds a pretty splash.

Six Sided Sampler 04

This is another sample using the same set that I cased from a swap last year.  Same set – very different look!  Equally as cute 🙂  Hugs, Fran

Ray of Sunshine

Ray of Sunshine 01

Perfect card for my family today because we have a very sick puppy!  This card uses Ray of Sunshine and Karen Burniston’s sweet Buster the Dog Character die and Outdoor Edges.  The little bowl and tag are cut from silver foil card stock.  The sun was stamped on Daffodil Delight and then fussy cut – straight lines makes it easy!  Sometimes the simplest cards say just what needs to be said.  Hugs, Fran

Banner Banter Bag

Banner Banter 03

A Banner Banter Bag 🙂  Made with the Irresistible Designer Series paper, sponged in Bermuda Bay and made with the Gift Bag Punch Board.  The flower in the center is the new Cotton paper – 10 layers – cut with the Floral Frames Collection.  This is super simple to do because the layers can all be cut at one time.  Then you just need to stagger the layers and staple them (twice – make an x) in the middle and pull them up one layer at a time.  Kind of scrunch them as you go and you will have a beautiful flower to attach to your bag.  The little tag is Banner Banter stamped on a piece punched with the flag punch.  Fill and give!  Hugs, Fran

Floral Wings

Floral Wings 01

Floral Wings is a two step (really 3 step!) hostess set.  Because it’s photopolymer, it’s really easy to use.  I chose to put the butterfly on a Decorative Window Gift Box.  To make this, stamp the butterfly twice in Basic Black.  Add the flowers in Melon Mambo and the leaves in Old Olive.  Die cut both butterflies using the Bold Butterfly die.

Floral Wings 01 details

Use the flower stamp to stamp around the sides of box using Crumb Cake ink.  Adhere a 1/2″ strip of Melon Mambo paper around the box – make sure to leave the lid free so it will open.

Floral Wings 01 side

Adhere the butterflies together in the middle and attach to the box.  Add Dimensionals (I stacked them 2 high) under the wings and add your sentiment.  I glued a small piece of Baker’s Twine to the top of the butterfly to make antennae and pearls to the centers of the flowers.  Fill it with something wonderful and give to a friend!  Hugs, Fran

Design Decisions

Crazy About You 04

This was design #1.  Crazy About You and Sassy Salutations.  The Basic Black is 4 1/4 x 11, Real Red 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4.  Simple design for a Stamp a Stack.

Crazy About You 03

Design #2 – Real Red 4 1/4 x 11, Basic Black 4 x 5 1/4, Whisper White 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 and “the other” flower from Crazy About You (and a blurry pic – sorry!)

Crazy About You 02

And this is the one I chose – Basic Black 4 1/4 x 11, Real Red 5 1/4 x 4, Whisper White 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  I could have gone either way – Black or Red base, but my kids liked the Black base best.  How about you?  Hugs, Fran

Crazy About You

Crazy About You 01

There is a cute card on page 106 of the new catalog using the Crazy About You stamp set for a square, maybe 4 x 4 , card.  I love the look but wanted a bigger card so I simply took the elements of that card and put it on a 4 1 /4 x 11 piece of Blushing Bride that was embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  You could also do the reverse – take a large sample and make it smaller.  Or take your favorite design and see how many different sizes you can do!  Stretch those stamp sets!  Hugs, Fran

Weathering the Storm Work of Art

Work of Art 04

This card uses the Sprinkles of Life cloud (punched out), Work of Art with markers for the rainbow and a sentiment from Six Sided sampler!  The rainbow is simply colored onto the Work of Art stamp using Stampin Write markers.  Then tie a piece of Baker’s Twine and add some of the cute Epoxy stickers colored with Copics or Sharpie markers.  I know I cased the idea for this card – and I usually write myself notes when I do – but I can’t find it!  So if you know where I saw the original idea, let me know!

Many Candles

Build a Birthday 04

Candles, candles, everywhere!  I stamped candles from Build a Birthday across the front of this card in Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder and added flames in Crushed Curry.  The strip under the sentiment is actually the Cherry on Top Washi tape with Whisper White under it.  (yes, I could have used the DSP – no, I didn’t even think about it!)

Build a Birthday 04 detail

A little Dazzling Details on the flames to make them sparkle.  The scallop border punch is retired (wwwwhhhhaaatt???)  and the sentiment is die cut using the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits.  A little birthday fun.  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge

Flower Patch 02

We are still playing the name game for the Karen Burniston June Designer Challenge – matching the first initials of our names to her dies!  For this card I chose the Fancy Label Accordion and Fancy Frames dies.  The front is the beautiful Butterfly Label peel off sticker done with Microfine Glitter and colored with Copic makers.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up’s Flower Patch.  The colors I used on this card are Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.

Flower Patch 02 open

To bring the focus to the sentiment, I simply punched out a circle to add to the Fancy Label die.  On the inside left, I slide a thin strip of Pool Party under the Star Fancy Frame Edges to make it stand out. (and to get the letter “S” in the card!)

Rhinestones add some bling to the center of each flower – because everything looks better with bling!  Hop over to Karen’s Facebook page to see the rest of the creations for this challenge!  Hugs, Fran
