Brightly Lit

So this was the first thing I wanted from the Holiday Catalog – a lamp post!  I stamped and die cut the lamp, sign and wreath  and layered it on an oval embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  The post is covered with Glossy Accents.

Inside I used Karen Burniston’s House & Fence Pop Up die.  The snow is done with her Nature’s Edges die and the tress are from the Winter Charms set.  The sentiment is Stampin Up’s Hearts Come Home.  White is hard to photograph but I hope you get the idea!  Hugs, Fran

Tags & Trimmings

Happy September – Happy Holiday catalog 🙂  It’s finally time for the Holiday Catalog and all the fun, new products and ideas.  One of my favorites is the the Tags & Trimmings stamp set with the matching Trim Your Stocking dies.  This combo makes darling stockings that are little pillow boxes.  The dies have all kinds of pieces that decorate your stockings.  For these stockings I used the new Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 Designer Series paper and the Quilted Christmas 1/4″ Ribbon.

You can also just use the pillow pos part of the die to make little gift pouches,  This one is a case of the one in the catalog.  It uses the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series paper.  There are so many things you can do with this set!

If you are in the Lexington, Ky area, the annual Stamping Garage Sale is coming up September 15-16!  Want more info on participating or attending?  Email me for all the details.

Hugs, Fran

Crazy 4 Challenges – Sketch

Today’s challenge at Crazy 4 Challenge is a sketch challenge!  I used Stamping Up’s Tranquil Tulips on the front.  This card is a 5 1/2 x 5 1/4.  And here is the sketch –

And when you open the card……

I used Karen Burniston’s  Snowman Twist Circle die, opening at a different angle (!) with a butterfly.  You can do anything with this die 🙂  Join the challenge this week by using the sketch for inspiration!  Hugs, Fran

Season Like Christmas

Season Like Christmas is a new set from the upcoming Holiday Mini and I thought I’d try out some different way to do the tree.  The stamp is considered a 2-step stamp (or maybe 3 or 4!)  Here’s all my takes done on 3 1/2 x 5 Crumb Cake cards.  All the backgrounds are stamped with Tree Rings background stamp in Crumb Cake, the trunks are stamped in Chocolate Chip and the center panel is die cut with a stitched rectangle die.

The first card is tree without snow.  I used Pear Pizzaz and Old Olive to stamp the tree. The sentiment is from Colorful Seasons and is stamped in Chocolate Chip.

The second tree is stamped in both greens and the snow-looking stamp is done in Versamark with white embossing powder.  The stamp at the bottom of the tree is done the same way.  The sentiment is stamped and embossed on Chocolate Chip card stock.

The last tree uses the 2 tree images – the first stamped in Pear Pizzaz and the second is stamped in Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder.  So there you go!  I’m sure there are lots of other ways to stamp this pretty tree, but here are a few to try!  Hugs, Fran

Crazy For Challenges – Monochromatic

This challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges is a Monochromatic Challenge.  I chose yellow with black as my accent color.  The background on the front of the card is done with a stencil and shimmer spray.  The sentiment and diet are from Stamping Up’s Sunshine Sayings and matching die, Sunshine Wishes.  I added rhinestones and metallic stars and a scallop boarder from the Colorful Seasons die.

Inside I used Karen Burniston’s Snowman Twist Circle die to create the sun popping up!  I added sunglass from SU’s  Pocketful of Sunshine die and lot of shimmer 🙂  I repeated some of the accents from the front on the inside.  This is such a fun challenge and I hope you’ll play along!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros August Challenge – Monochromatic

This month’s Paper Pros challenge is monochromatic – and I cheated just a little bit 🙂  Tranquil Tide and White with a squirrel!  The sentiment is from Carols of Christmas and the squirrel is a new die from Karen Burniston – Woodland Animals.  Isn’t he cute??  But the best is inside…

This is Karen Burniston’s new Tree Pop Up die and Nature’s Edges.  It’s a snowy scene with beautiful ornaments from the SU Carols of Christmas die hanging from the tree.  The moon is a 2 1/2″ circle punch.  Make sure to check out the other Paper Pro’s creations!  Hugs, Fran

Crazy for Challenges Summer Fun

I was asked to be a guest designer for Crazy 4 Challenges this month and the first challenge is Summer Fun.  What is more fun than beach time?  Using Seaside Shore and Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label die, I created an underwater scene.  The background is done with Distressed Oxide inks and the fish are colored with Copic markers.  Nuvo Jewel drops create the bubbles.  The frame around the window opening is stamped with Playful Backgrounds and the acetate is dry embossed with the Seaside embossing folder.

Can you see the waves?  (Kind of hard to photograph!)

Here’s the inside scene.  Be sure to check out the challenge and share your Summer Fun card!  Hugs, Fran

Paper Pro Challenge – Summer Road Trip

The challenge this month is Summer Road Trip and I’m taking a motorcycle 🙂  This set is called One Wild Ride and I used some retired DSP to make a Joy Fold card with a surprise inside.  The image and sentiment are embossed on the DSP and the little sign is popped up to hold the card shut.

On the inside is Karen Burniston’s Snowman Twist Circle pop up die!  It pops up the badge that is also embossed, this time in white.

So I’m hitting the road with my Twist Circle die!  Check out the other Summer Road Trip ideas.  Hugs, Fran

Quirky Critters

This little guy is from Quirky Critters and this card sure is quirky!  I colored the sloth with Copic markers and the Pear Pizzaz background is embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  There are really cute images in this set!  As far as the design, it was a bit fussy and I’m not sure about it!  But it’s quirky!  Hugs, Fran

Butterfly Beauty

This butterfly is from the Move Me die set.  It’s beautiful but it’s the background behind it that really sets it off.  The background is the Polished Stone technique on glossy paper done in Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight,  It’s put together as a shaker card and filled with Bermuda Bay sequins.

The sentiment is heat embossed in black from So Many Shells.  There are lots of wonderful sentiments in that set!  Hugs, Fran
