Bright & Beautiful New Year

Bright&Beautiful 06

Today starts the Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge for December.  We were challenged to pick a holiday and make a card.  I chose New Years and Thanksgiving.  So here is New Years!.  For New Years, I used Karen’s Katie Label Accordion die turned  from portrait to landscape.  The video instructions can be found here.  The wonderful thing about this technique is that I could easily use Stampin Up’s Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series paper!  I embossed the stars and sentiment from Bright & Beautiful in gold embossing powder and die cut them with the matching Framelits.

For the middle panel, I just omitted  the line about Christmas.  The little stars come from the negative part of Karen’s Star Edges.  It makes a very shiny New Year’s wish!

Gift Card Star

Bright & Beautiful 05

These gift card holders (136662) are so much fun to use!  The little fronts (3 7/8 x 3 7/8) are just the right size for cut embellishments.  I used the Distressed Dots embossing folder to make the background and then added embossed stars in White and Cherry Cobbler  embossing powder.  By tucking a little piece of Cherry Cobbler seam binding behind the front, this gift card holder can hang on a tree.

Christmas Bright & Beautiful

Bright & Beautiful 01

Silve and Gold!  This card has embossed stars in silver and gold over silver dot vellum.  The base is Brushed Silver card stock.  I stamped the sentiment on the vellum in gold and heat embossed and then added the “Christmas and New Year” on Whisper White in silver.  The little star clip and rhinestones finished it off.

Though it looks like a lot of work, the framelits make this card very easy to do.  You can get this stamp set and framelit bundle now – as a sneak peek – with the Big Shot and Bundles Promotion!  Hugs, Fran

Bright & Beautiful

Bright & Beautiful 04

Bright & Beautiful is a new set in the upcoming Holiday Mini – and it’s available as a bundle right now with the Big Shot and Bundles promotion!  This is a card I did using it and the new Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series paper.  This paper is so heavy it easily holds it own as a card base.  However – stamping on the design side did not show up as intended!

Bright & Beautiful 04 detail

I should have used some Whisper White to make the sentiment visible.
