It’s a Patio Party

My brother, sister and I had a surprise party for my dad’s 80th birthday.  I thought I’d share with you a few of the things I did to add to the celebration.

First – invitations made with Make a Cake and the layout cased from Connie Babbert (thanks Connie!)  Here’s some of the decorations –

Patio Party flags for the cupcakes made in My Digital Studio (Patio Party
Collection DVD (p. 199)
) and little cupcakes made from votive candles.

And big tissue paper pom-poms!  These were taken before the tables were set – but you get the idea.  And, of course, party favors – made with a combo of the My Digital Studio and the Fancy Favor Big Shot die –

These were perfect for a two piece box of bourbon balls, a rustic pencil and a little bottle of Maker’s Mark!  Great party!  Hugs, Fran

Casing the Catalog 8

This design is on page 28 – but I used the set – Wicked Cool.  That’s a black licorice Twizzler in the cello bag and it fits perfectly.  Can you imagine what the store thought as I was searching for Halloween candy in June?  (It will probably be on the shelves next week – LOL!)  These are easy and will be cute to give out or use as table decorations.  Wouldn’t they be cute and place cards at a Halloween party?

Are you tired of all the Casing the Catalog yet?  In the “background” I’m working on swaps for convention!  Not a lot of brain power left!  Enjoy – Hugs, Fran

Summer Sewing

Won’t I look festive this summer?  The Summer Smooches fabric is just perfect for this apron – bright and happy.  The pinned on flower is made with the Blossom Party Big Shot die and a Bright Button with a brad in the center.  Matches the flowers in the fabric.  Because the fabric comes in extra large fat quarters, you will need 2 packages to piece together the apron front.  I seamed it together and put the top ruffle over the seam.  You can get 2 aprons from the 2 packages – and have lots of scraps left over to make other things.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Card Frog

I have been using giant clothes pins to hold cards at stamp clubs and classes for some time now – but more often than not, they fall over.  And when they fall, they always land in an ink pad!  Always!  Some my sweet stampin’ friend, Valerie, bought me some “frogs.”  I die cut three flowers from the Big Shot Flower Folds die and punched the center out of two of them.  This is what one of them looks like now.  I think I’ll use different DSP on the other – create a garden on my table.  So thanks, Val – that was so nice of you!  Enjoy – Hugs, Fran

Casing the Catalog 4

Cased from page 47 – It’s a Wrap.  I added the flowers from Betsy’s Blossom (because my white Stazon pad has died a sad death!)  The topper is the Top Note die cut in half and scored to fit over the top.  You can make two from one Top Note while you’re at it!

Stamp sets – It’s a Wrap Occasions, Betsy’s Blossoms
card stock – Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green
Ink – Midnight Muse, Gumball Green
Stampin Write Markers – Midnight Muse, Daffodil Delight
Etc – Big Shot Top Note die, small brown bag (3 x 6″)

This will make a nice gift bag for a summery treat.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Bright Blossom Notes

This is based on the set that Mary Fish did using Bright Blossoms and Pursuit of Happiness.  I did several sets in different color combos.
Stamp Sets – Bright Blossoms, Pursuit of Happiness
color combos – Tempting Turquoise/Old Olive/Basic Black – Real Red/Old Olive/Basic Black – Elegant Eggplant/Old Olive/Basic Black
Etc – Bitty Box die, Basic Pearls, Word Window punch, Decorative Label punch
Thanks, Mary, for a great idea!  Hugs, Fran
