Looking Spec-tacular

I love this single stamp – Spec-tacular (
132673 ) and had fun making this gift bag.  First I removed the handles from the bag with a hobby blade and then stamped the image all over the front.  I did use a Stamp a Ma Jig even though it’s a clear mount stamp – I’m just type A that way!  For the glasses, I drew them on Basic Black card stock and then spritz the daylights out of them using a mixture of shimmer paint and 70% rubbing alcohol.  I did put acetate in the lens – and, of course, rhinestones!

To make the tag, I printed out the sentiment (!) in My Digital Studio on Crumb Cake card stock and then made a tag shape and spritzed it with the spritzer tool and an Early Espresso Stampin Write Marker.  To keep the tag in place (so it doesn’t cover up my glasses) I added a jewelry tag punch to the back.  Let me show you –

Now the little tag holds the big tag in place!  I used a glue gun and a strip of Crumb Cake to add the handle back onto the bag.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Spec-tacular (Single)
card stock – Crumb Cake, Basic Black, acetate
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Marker – Early Espresso
Etc -shimmer spray, MDS2, rhinestones, jewelry tag punch, spritzer tool and spritzer bottle

It would be cute with the glasses on the tag instead of the bag too.  Hhhhhmmm….might have to try that!  Hugs, Fran

Hearts a Flutter Set

I cased the main element off a card that Diana Gibbs cased from Glenda Travelstead – it’s a circle of casing!- and turned it into a 3 x 3 gift card and gift bag.  Now I have a set for Valentines day.  When running the gift bag through the Big Shot, I used no tabs and it was still pretty snug.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Hearts a Flutter, Fabulous Phrases
card stock – Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla
Ink – Early Espresso
Etc – Adorning Accents embossing folder, Very Vanilla seam binding, Flower trim, Artisan Kit lace, Early Espresso ribbon, Hearts a Flutter framelits

Thanks Di (and Glenda!) for a cute idea.  Hugs, Fran

Valentine Treats

These little treats are for my daughter’s friends in her dorm.  They are easy to put together – which is great since I need to make quite a few!  The “cover” is a 1 1/2 x 7 1/2 piece of More Amore Designer Series paper folded in half.  Use a 1 1/4″ square punch to make the cut out at the bottom.  Add a 1 x 3″ strip to the top using the same punch at the bottom.  Note – you can hand cut these if you’d rather!  Use the Sizzlit Heart to cut out a Real Red heart and layer the stamped image over top.  Attach with dimensionals.  Fill a skinny cello bag with M&Ms.  You will need to leave almost an inch empty at the top.  Staple the top to the inside of the cover and use glue dots to hold the cover down on the front and back.  I was able to get 17 of these treat bags from one bag of M&Ms (and I didn’t eat any while filling them – promise!)

Supplies
Stamp Set – Happy Heart
card stock – More Amore DSP, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Primrose Petals
Ink – Pool Party
Etc – Heart Sizzlit, 1 1/4″ square punch, 1 x 8 cello bags, Owl punch (for the heart on the stamped image)

The box holding the treats is made from the Fancy Favor die.  I die cut it in Real Red and then using the More Amore DSP.  I trimmed about a 1/2″ off the top and all the bottom flaps of the Designer Series paper and adhered it to the Real Red before I adhered the box together.  I decorated it with the same heart combination from the treat bags.

Have fun!  Hugs, Fran

A 10 In So Many Ways

Isn’t it sweet?  I have 2 nieces that are ballerinas and they were the inspiration for this card.  This is the new Pop N Cut die in the Spring Mini – and I love it!  Isn’t the mirror cute?  That’s Brushed Silver card stock with another dress die cut so it looks like a reflection.  Okay – I had too much fun here!

Santa with Almonds

This little guy will hold Candied Almonds.  He’s made from the retired Bag with Scallop die – but I thought you could use the idea.  Plus he’s hiding some delicious snacks.  So here’s the recipe for the almonds

Candied Almonds

Directions

  1. Combine the
water, sugar, and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a
boil; add the almonds. Cook and stir the mixture until the liquid
evaporates and leaves a syrup-like coating on the almonds. Pour the
almonds onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Separate almonds
using forks. Allow to cool about 15 minutes.

The trick with these is to keep stirring until the liquid is completely gone.  It happens in a flash – so don’t quit stirring!  Hugs, Fran

Watercolor Winter

A simple card with a glittery pine cone.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Watercolor Winter
card stock – Always Artichoke, Shimmery White
Ink – Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke
Etc – Holiday frame embossing folder, Dazzling Details, Large Oval punch, Taffeta ribbon

And while I had the set out I stamped a belly band for a Kraft box.

Still wrapping – at least I’m finished shopping!  Hugs, Fran

Another Rolled Bag

Are you wrapping yet?  Here’s a gift bag made with a rolled tree (again!)  This bag is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 and is 15 inches tall.  It’s made like a 2,4,6,8 bag but took pieces of DSP to make.  Then I started rolling little 3/4″ pieces of some retired DSP to make the tree.  Add bling – and you have a great bag.  Here’s to wrapping!  Hugs, Fran

Gingerbread Men Tin

I make lots of caramel corn at this time a year so I save tall tins and decorate them.  Then I can package the caramel corn in a large cello bag and that’s that!

Supplies

card stock – Whisper White, Gumball Green, Real Red, Polka Dot DSP
Ink – Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Gumball Green
Etc – Holiday Framelits, Tasteful Trim die, 1 1/4 square punch

Now to make my caramel corn!  Hugs, Fran
