Reindeer Treats
And now he’s a reindeer! I just couldn’t resist!
This time I cut the Stocking out of felt and sewed it together. The antlers are two layers Early Espresso card stock die cut with the Lattice die. I tried doing the antlers with felt – but droopy antlers just didn’t do it for me! He has a piece of the new Stitched Felt Winter Wishes on his head ( ) and a bright red nose. The jingle bells are hand sewn on his “collar.” The twinkle in his eye is a drop of Dazzling Details. Wouldn’t it be cute to fill the cello with Magic Reindeer food? Hmmmm – off to find some oats and glitter! Enjoy! Hugs, Fran
Pony Up Treats
This project was inspired by Jackie Topa. She turned the stocking die upside down and made a horse! Since I live in the heart of horse country (and still had my Holiday Stocking die sitting on my desk)- I had to make my own.
He’s done in Soft Suede card stock with a Vanilla seam binding mane and the new, yummy Early Espresso quilted satin ribbon (124104) from the Holiday MIni. I filled one of the new 1 x 8 cello bags with Skittles to make his hobby horse stick., I did stitch the ribbon down – and next time will just stitch around the entire thing. The big bow is the retired Real Red stripe ribbon – I need to get a few current colors in this ribbon because it makes the best bows! Tomorrow I’ll share where I went from here Enjoy! Hugs, Fran
Sneak Peek – Holiday Stocking die
It’s just around the corner – the Holiday mini! At the moment, my favorite tool in the mini is the Holiday Stocking die. One of the projects shown at convention looked something like this –
This is two stockings with a Big Shot box #2 (closed with on side cut off) in the middle. It will hold treats or a small gift!
Supplies
Stamp Set – Tiny Tags
Ink – Basic Black
Big Shot – Holiday Stocking, Box #2
card stock – Real Red, Very Vanilla, retired DSP
Etc – 5 Petal Flower punch, jingle bells (Holiday Mini!), Square Lattice embossing folder, Tiny Tag punch, floss
Love it – but I want to use the die for more than Christmas! So I turned it into a witch’s shoe –
This was done the same way – two stockings and a box #2 in the middle – with a Big Shot 3 1/2 circle used to make the toe of her boot. Die cut the circle and take a “bite” out of it with the 1 3/4 circle punch.
Then attach it to the front of the boot –
I free hand cut the heel so it looks like a shoe and added Word Window punched pieces to the front for laces or straps. Then I added lots of bling – because this is a stylish witch!
The Box #2 is angled inside for treats!
Supplies
Big Shot – Holiday Stocking, 3 1/2 circle, Box #2
card stock – Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Etc – Word Window punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, Black satin ribbon, jewels, 1/2 circle punch
I hope you enjoy this sneak peek! Hugs, Fran
A Few More Events
Seriously! I stamped the daylights out of this set. Okay, a few more then we’ll move on here! The first is a milk carton. The heart is covered in Crystal Effects (again!)
Then a wedding tag. This is on Shimmery White card stock and embossed in silver. The leaves and hearts are colored in with Stampin Write markers.
A Christmas tag – Scallop Circle die.
Guess what I did to the berries? That’s right – Crystal Effects!
Okay – I’ve put this fun, fun set away for a while! Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

Petite Pocket Box
You can use the Petite Pocket die to make a cute little box!
You will need 4 Petite Pockets and 2 of the closure circles. One each Petite Pocket, cut off one side tab and all but one inch from the bottom flap –
Adhere all the piece together by attaching them at the flaps –
Then you attach the last flap to the cut side, fold in the bottom and you have a box! Put the two closure circles on two opposite top flaps and use your Crop a Dile to punch. Tie with a ribbon –
All of these are decorated with one of the circles from the Perfect Pennant die. The scallop designs matches the scallop design on the Scallop Trim punch! I’ve also used a frame from Frame It to decorate the centers. Around the bottoms I’ve wrapped the scallop trim pieces from Tasteful Trim Big Shot die.
I hope you’ll try this box and let me know how it works for you! Enjoy! Hugs, Fran
Nature’s Pace
I love to read but am forever forgetting the titles of books. This is a bookmark or a journaling tag – or both! My original thought is that you could use it to make note of the books you’ve read and then add it to a page. I used Nature’s Pace and a piece of chipboard from On Board Merry Medley.
The DSP is a lined pieced from Beau Chateau layered onto a piece of Pink Pirouette. Stamp the bee image onto Very Vanilla and color it with Stampin Write Markers. Glue it to the chipboard with Tombow Multipurpose glue, sand it and sponge the edges.
Stamp the image again and the sentiment across the bottom.
Supplies
Stamp Set – Nature’s Pace
card stock – Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Beau Chateau DSP
Ink – Pink Pirouette, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Stampin WRite Markers – Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake
Etc – On Board Merry Medley chipboard, Crumb Cake seam binding, Crop a dile
Tomorrow is the first day of school! (Can you believe it?) My youngest will be a senior in high school! Yep, I’m feeling old!
Enjoy! Hugs, Fran
Beau Chateau Fabric
These projects use the Beau Chateau fabric. The first is a jewelry bag made with a coaster base.
Die cut a coaster using the 3″ circle die. Cut two pieces of Beau Chateau fabric using the 3 1/2″ circle die. Use Tombow mono adhesive to adhere the fabric to the coaster. Cut two pieces of fabric 5 /2 x 11 and sew them together, wrong sides together, at the long side. (I used the rooster print and the Marina Mist print. Now sew a seam up the short ends, wrong sides together, making a tube. Fold the tube at the seam – right sides together. Sew a line at 1″ down and 1 1/2″ down for the ribbon casing. To attach the tube to the coaster I ran a long stitch around the bottom of the tube. This gives me a gathering stitch and gives me so “cheat room” if I need it. Hand stitch the bag to the coaster using small stitches. Run the ribbon through the channel made at the top by using a crochet needle to wiggle two openings on each side. Add a fabric flower!
The coasters were made by cutting two pieces of Beau Chateau fabric 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and a piece of batting 4 x 4. Use a 1/4 seam to sew the fabric, wrong sides together, leaving a small opening on one side. Insert the batting and tuck in the seam. Sew around the coaster in a square – then a smaller square – then a smaller square – get the idea?
Don’t look to closely at my lines – they are not very straight! This is a great way to use up left over fabric. These have the same fabric on each side – but you could simpler use up all your scraps and have reversible coasters! Enjoy! Hugs, Fran
