You’re a Hoot

I saw these owls on Creating the Hive attributed to Kerry’s Paper Crafts.  They are created using the Big Shot Pillow Box die.  Aren’t they cute?  I couldn’t resist having them hold a paper chain of hearts!

I tried two different ways to do the “feathers” on the owls.  The one of the left (Melon Mambo) uses the 3/4″ circle punch to make the feathers.  Each one is attached separately  The one on the right (Pumpkin Pie) uses the Big Shot Tasteful Trim die.  Can you see the difference?

Supplies
Stamp Set – Candy Conversation (Occasions Mini)
card stock – Melon Mambo/Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight
Stampin Write Markers – Indigo Island, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight
Etc – Big Shot Pillow Box die, Tasteful Trim/3/4″ circle punch, 1″ and 3/4″ circle punches, Trio Heart punch, Oval punch, Basic Rhinestones

So while I was playing around I decided to see if this little guy could be used as a party favor for my daughter’s graduation this spring –

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Butterfly Clip

I’m making clips again!  On this one I used the Beautiful Butterfly die and the Bordering on Romance set to top off a little gable box.

I die cut 8 butterflies and embossed the top one.  I applied the glimmer brad by cutting off the legs and gluing it down.  The DSP on the clip in Attic Boutique.

I made the tag with p.s. I love you and tied it on the box with Poppy Parade ribbon.  The Poppy Parade trim around the box is made with the Tasteful Trim die.

Now I can fill it and give it away!  Enjoy – Hugs, Fran

Can You Case Love?

This beautiful piece of framed art is from our demonstrator magazine – front cover – couldn’t even open the magazine without pulling out supplies to case this!  The frame is one I had sitting around here so I had to readjust the layout to fit.

Here’s a tip for getting all the phrases fairly straight – use your grid paper and a very soft pencil to make small tick marks.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – p.s. I Love You, Sweet Cake, Candy Conversation
card stock – Very Vanilla smooth and textured, Cherry Cobbler
Ink – Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral
Etc – Framelits Hearts die, Full Heart punch, Timeless Type alphabet, Dazzling Details, Vanilla 1/8″ ribbon, Vintage Trinkets, Heart Trio punch

The Dazzling Details is on the little row of hearts below the Cherry Cobbler “Love.”  I should put this out in my classroom – but I kind of like having it in my office.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

A Twist on Advent

My friend Lee made these advent calendars using different colors than the expected red and green!  She took the my advent calendar class – and then did her own twist.  She used the Peek a Boo Frames and 25 & Counting – and lots of other thing! Don’t you LOVE them?

And to to it off, she made something like 13 of these – my kind of friend!  Amazing!  Enjoy – Hugs, Fran

MDS Packaging

I love My Digital Studio!  I had a little brown bag from a store that was easily re-made into a gift bag just by printing out some elements from Very Merry.  Snip, snip – a bit of Designer Series paper and ribbon – and it’s converted into this –

This is my idea of going green!  I printed it out 2 times and decorated the front and back.  Now to fill it   Not only are we celebrating Christmas – we have 4 birthdays this month.  I need lots of packaging!

Schools out so I got up early to have some stamp time before the chaos and comotion.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Some More Little Boxes

While I was making the little boxes for my team meeting, I kept coming up with different designs.  (Actually, I still am!)  So I put a few of them together.  These boxes are made by cutting 1 1/2 inches off the top of the Fancy Favor box and adding a 4′ circle (scored at 3 1/8) to the front.  Here’s a few other ideas.  A fancy ornament in Shimmery White and Brushed Gold –

A cupcake –

A snowman –

Is your mind whirling now with all the things this little box could be?

On a side note – we’ve figured out the internet problem and it’s going to involved moving a few things around to enable a better signal.  Guess what I get to do today?

Today is the last day of school here!  I can’t believe how quickly the time is going.  Hopefully we’ll get to go see Southern Lights tonight – it’s a huge light display at the horse park.  I’m ready for something to get us in the holiday spirit!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

More Projects

Here’s another project from our team party on Sunday.  Martha made this- it looks like a candle, smells like a candle, feels like a candle and runs on a battery!  I had not seen one yet – so I was so intrigued!

I made little gift boxes for everyone using the Fancy Favor box die and the 4″ circle die.  It held a container of Mica flakes perfectly!

The top of the ornament is the Postage Stamp punch and the snowflake is the Northern Frost die.  The Designer Series paper is Holly Berry Bouquet – and the yummy Red Glitter paper!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Merry Christmas to You

Merry Christmas a bit early!  As a great big “Thank You” for following my blog, here’s a tutorial to create my

I truly appreciate everyone who stops by my little space on the web!  Your comments and feedback always delight me – and even just knowing you’re out there makes it all worthwhile!

I’m giving it to you early so you can make your own to give.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Tags and Sneak Peek

I tend to give lots of gift cards to my teenage nieces and nephew.  It’s just easier for that age group- LOTS easier!  You can use the Big Shot Petite Pocket die to wrap up gift cards in a snap!

This is so easy – die cut the Petite Pocket (I used the glitter dots from Holly Berry Bouquet) and adhere a very thin strip down of Real Red down the middle.  Add a Real Red satin bow and a Crumb Cake tag stamped with Dear Santa – and you’ve got a cute gift card holder.  Almost makes me feel guilty – it’s so easy!  Here’s a note – I do not adhere the sides of the pocket together when using it for gift tags.  A brad on the back holds the holder together just fine.  You can adhere it if you want – it’s just a bit snug that way and if that’s what you’re going for – it works!

And a sneak peek – Bordering on Romance from the upcoming Occasions Mini.  (I just had to stop and play with new stuff!)

I’m having some really strange computer problems this morning.  It’s only raining outside so I’m not sure what the problem could be.  I have a definite love/hate relationship with my computer.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Snow Scrap

This is an easy layout that we did at scrap club this weekend.  It uses a hidden pocket to hide journaling or another photo – or both.

The pocket is an envelope trimmed to fit behind the mat.

I’ll add the journaling next to the picture.

The weekend was busy but so much fun!  Samantha had her last Christmas concert.  All these darling students singing beautiful, but serious, Christmas carols and she sang “Santa Baby!”  That’s my girl!

My pre -order comes today so I’m cleaning up as fast as I can so I have room to play!  It’s a cold, rainy day here – perfect for a pre-order!  Hugs, Fran
