Bold Sweet Cake

We also celebrate my brother’s birthday during the holidays – yes, we have 4 birthdays during the holidays! Great for me because I got to try out the upcoming Sweet Cake stamp set for him!  I wanted to do something masculine and fun so I chose the Big Top Birthday Designer Series paper to compliment the stamp.

The frosting on the cupcake is coated with Crystal Effects and there’s a glimmer brad cherry on top! Just because it’s masculine doesn’t mean it can’t have bling

Supplies
Stamp Set – Sweet Cake
card stock – Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Big Top Birthday DSP
Ink – Tempting Turquoise, Real Red
Etc – Adorning Accent Edgelit Die, Ticket punch, Crystal Effects, Bold Bright glimmer brad, spritzer

My stamp room was used as a “wrapping room” for a few days leading up to Christmas – so today I’m digging out, organizing and putting things away.  Can’t have wrapping paper keeping me from my stamps – Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Beautiful Birthday

This is the card I did for my mom’s birthday.  Not only is it a birthday card – it’s a sneak peek of products in the upcoming Occasions Mini.  A double duty card!  The design is based on the card shown in the mini catalog.

What a great set!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Apothecary Art (Occasions Mini 125525/125527)
card stock – Poppy Parade, Always Artichoke, watercolor paper
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Poppy Parade, Real Red, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake
Etc – Framelits Label Collection, Edgelits Die, Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Poppy Parade ribbon, Victorian Lace, Hat Pin, Dazzling Details, Basic Rhinestone, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Vintage Trinkets pins, Always Artichoke seam binding

The Dazzling Details was used on the roses – just a touch.  Because the Hat Pin was so close to the edge cut with the Edgelit die, I put a drop of Crystal Effects on the point.  Didn’t want my mom to get stuck opening her birthday card!  There is beautiful, beautiful, beautiful pleated ribbon in the mini but not in Poppy parade.  So I used glue dots to make my own.  I’m wishing for this ribbon in every color – it’s just beautiful!  (I think I said that!)  So my mom’s birthday card ended up being the perfect time to try lots of the goodies in the Occasions mini!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Tags and Sneak Peek

I tend to give lots of gift cards to my teenage nieces and nephew.  It’s just easier for that age group- LOTS easier!  You can use the Big Shot Petite Pocket die to wrap up gift cards in a snap!

This is so easy – die cut the Petite Pocket (I used the glitter dots from Holly Berry Bouquet) and adhere a very thin strip down of Real Red down the middle.  Add a Real Red satin bow and a Crumb Cake tag stamped with Dear Santa – and you’ve got a cute gift card holder.  Almost makes me feel guilty – it’s so easy!  Here’s a note – I do not adhere the sides of the pocket together when using it for gift tags.  A brad on the back holds the holder together just fine.  You can adhere it if you want – it’s just a bit snug that way and if that’s what you’re going for – it works!

And a sneak peek – Bordering on Romance from the upcoming Occasions Mini.  (I just had to stop and play with new stuff!)

Supplies
Stamp sets – Bordering on Romance, Petite Pairs
card stock- Pink Pirouette, Pink Pirouette DSP Whisper White
ink – Basic Black, Pretty in Pink
Stampin Write Markers – Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Wild Wasabi
Etc – pearls, Scallop #2 die, 2 1/2 Circle punch, Edgelit die and Textured Impressions embossing folder

I’m having some really strange computer problems this morning.  It’s only raining outside so I’m not sure what the problem could be.  I have a definite love/hate relationship with my computer.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Bewitched

I cased this card from the Holiday Mini – which starts tomorrow!  Since I didn’t have the Lucky Limeade ribbon, I did the card in Pear Pizzazz.  This little gal reminds me of Samantha from Bewitched!  Check out the mustached pumpkins in this set – how funny!

Supplies
Stamp set – Out on a Limb, Wicked Cool
card stock – Pear Pizzazz, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, More Mustard
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Pear Pizzazz
Stampin Write Markers – Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz, More Mustard, So Saffron, Blush Blossom
Etc – Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Scallop oval punch, jewels, Scallop Border edge punch

So while I had this set out, I made a little wrapper for the new 1 x 8 cello bags.  Instead of attaching it to the top, I made a card stock band and wrapped it around the middle.  I think it works better to attached  it to the top – some of the cello bags have opened a little handling.  Still cute

Maybe I’ll just move it up to the top to help secure the flap.

Today is the last day of the Summer Mini and the Buy 3 Get One Free promotion!  Check your Designer Series Paper stash before it’s too late – you’ll be sad if you miss out!  I always want more paper!  Enjoy the day – Hugs, Fran

One More Boot

How about an Elf’s boot?  This is made the same way as the Witch’s boot with different decoration.

Supplies
Big SHot dies – Holiday Stocking, Box #2, 3 1/2 circle
card stock – Pear Pizzaz, Real Red, Whisper White, Real Red DSP
Etc – jewels,1″ circle punch, pom-poms, Word Window punch, Organza ribbon, 1 3/4 circle punch, large jingle bells, Scallop Border punch

Okay – off to use some of the other products in the Holiday MIni   Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Reindeer Treats

And now he’s a reindeer!  I just couldn’t resist!

This time I cut the Stocking out of felt and sewed it together. The antlers are two layers Early Espresso card stock die cut with the Lattice die.  I tried doing the antlers with felt – but droopy antlers just didn’t do it for me!  He has a piece of  the new Stitched Felt Winter Wishes on his head ( ) and a bright red nose.  The jingle bells are hand sewn on his “collar.”  The twinkle in his eye is a drop of Dazzling Details.  Wouldn’t  it be cute to fill the cello with Magic Reindeer food?  Hmmmm – off to find some oats and glitter!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Pony Up Treats

This project was inspired by Jackie Topa.  She turned the stocking die upside down and made a horse!  Since I live in the heart of horse country (and still had my Holiday Stocking die sitting on my desk)- I had to make my own.

He’s done in Soft Suede card stock with a Vanilla seam binding mane and the new, yummy Early Espresso quilted satin ribbon (124104) from the Holiday MIni.  I filled one of the new 1 x 8 cello bags with Skittles to make his hobby horse stick.,  I did stitch the ribbon down – and next time will just stitch around the entire thing.  The big bow is the retired Real Red stripe ribbon – I need to get a few current colors in this ribbon because it makes the best bows!  Tomorrow I’ll share where I went from here Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Pastel Leaves

There are so darling A La Carte stamps at the back of the Holiday Mini – and I bought several! Leaves of a Tree is the set that I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it as soon as I saw it.  So here it is!

This is the Poppin Pastels technique.  Stamp the image in Versamark and then use a cotton ball, sponge dauber or sponge to “pounce” the Stampin Pastels onto the image.  It pops!  The Designer Series Paper is the new Spice Cake.  It has Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz in it (which aren’t in the Pastels) so I used Not Quite Navy and Garden Green as a coordinating colors.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Leaves of a Tree, Hand Penned
card stock – Early Espresso textured, Spice Cake DSP, Very Vanilla, Garden Green
Ink – Versamark, Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Scallop Trim punch, 5/16, Jumbo Brads, Vanilla Seam Binding

Sneak Peek – Holiday Stocking die

It’s just around the corner – the Holiday mini! At the moment, my favorite tool in the mini is the Holiday Stocking die.  One of the projects shown at convention looked something like this –

This is two stockings with a Big Shot box #2 (closed with on side cut off) in the middle.  It will hold treats or a small gift!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Tiny Tags
Ink – Basic Black
Big Shot – Holiday Stocking, Box #2
card stock – Real Red, Very Vanilla, retired DSP
Etc – 5 Petal Flower punch, jingle bells (Holiday Mini!), Square Lattice embossing folder, Tiny Tag punch, floss

Love it – but I want to use the die for more than Christmas!  So I turned it into a witch’s shoe –

This was done the same way – two stockings and a box #2 in the middle – with a Big Shot 3 1/2 circle used to make the toe of her boot.  Die cut the circle and take a “bite” out of it with the 1 3/4 circle punch.

Then attach it to the front of the boot –

I free hand cut the heel so it looks like a shoe and added Word Window punched pieces to the front for laces or straps.  Then I added lots of bling – because this is a stylish witch!

The Box #2 is angled inside for treats!

Supplies
Big Shot – Holiday Stocking, 3 1/2 circle, Box #2
card stock – Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Etc – Word Window punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, Black satin ribbon, jewels, 1/2 circle punch

I hope you enjoy this sneak peek!  Hugs, Fran

Something Old Something New

One thing about getting ready for our annual Rubber Stamping and Scrapbooking Garage Sale is that I find all sorts of treasures!  (And this year I’m digging deep!)  So when I pulled out a package of one of my all time favorite DSP – Parisian Breeze – I had to stop and create something.  Something old – something new –

I used the new Perfect Pennant Big Shot die to make this – and even had a Perfect Place to hang it in my office!  The die cut alphabet is Timeless Type.  The beautiful scallops are a part of the die.

I added some First Edition DSP scalloped circle flowers as an accent –

How long do you think it will take me to finish cleaning out my “stuff” if I keep stopping to make things?

Saying Goodbye to Fresh Cuts-

Enjoy! Hugs, Fran
