Playful Petals

We’re scrapbooking tonight and here’s the layout we’ll follow.  This uses the Delicate Dots DSP (available during Sale a bration – hurry, hurry!) and the Playful Petals stamp set.  The little flowers are stamped 3 times on the different papers and pieced together.  This is an easy imagine to cut out so it makes piecing this flower together much easier than it looks.  The vine is a Sizzix strip in Certainly Celery and the letters are the Natural Serif in Bashful Blue.

To keep the flower pieces open I inserted half a Dimensional all the way down in the center.

Here’s a simple card – paper pieced in the same way.

The colors are straight from the color wheel – Garden Green, Orchid Opulence, Summer Sun and Real Red!  I would have never put those together!  But you have to trust “the wheel!”  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays – we certainly have.  I thought I’d start the New Year with a few pics of my 2009 desktop calendar that I gave my parents (from the grandkids) this Christmas.

The January page features Holiday Line Up and the Felt Snowflurries – and one of my nieces!

This page is Halloween Frights and A Season of Friendship – and my other niece (being silly!)

The December page uses Winter Post and the fabulous ribbon – and a family shot from Thanksgiving.  (That’s me in the white top with the black sweater!) You can see the rest of the pages here. Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Scrapbooking

This is the layout from my November scrap clubs.  I made this one using some Basic Gray DSP from the last catalog.  The title is cut in Basic Black with the Big Shot and the journaling was printed on a transparency and layered over the dots.  I was able to fit 10 pictures on this layout!

If you want to try this layout, the dotted paper is cut 6 x 12 and the black mat is 6 5/8 x 12.  All of the pictures across the top are 4 x 4 and the pictures on the bottom and just trimmed to fit – it depends on your pictures.  If you try it – post a link so we can all see!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Frames with a Flourish

I know I’ve used this picture before on layouts, but it’s one of my favorites of Samantha!  THe lattice was made by stamping the square from Frames with a Flourish in Purely Pomegranate and Old Olive and then cutting them out – in half and the inside.  (so you are left with just a “v”)

The flower is from the Pretties kit and there are rub ons (maybe Eastern Elegance?) on the Old Olive strip at the bottom.  The title is stamped with Lovely Letters and the circles across the top are build a brads – and in the center of the flower.  The Purely Pomegranate is wheeled. To color the flower I used my aqua painter.

We leave today for convention!  I’ll be posting pictures here soon!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Tags and Scraps

Yes, he actually did it and I scrapped it to prove it!  This is this week’s scrap club layout and my sample uses Real Red (12 x 12) and Basic Black (8 1/2 x 11)  card stock (did I tell you that these are the school colors for both of my children, even though they went to different schools?)  The stamp sets are Great Grad and the star wheel.  The red DSP is from the hostess pack – the chipboard stars are covered with the same DSP.  The little tassels is something I had around here and have no idea where it came from – I had 10 of them, so I must have ordered them from somewhere.  This layout also uses the Photo corner punch and the round tab punch.

And the “Tag” part is that Nancy at ISTAMPhas tagged me.  Here’s how it goes –

So here’s my random facts (and they will be random!)

1.  I love to read historical fiction or biographies.  My favorite things are the Civil War and anything taking place during the Tudor reign.  (I’m a nerd)

2.  I love to play word games (told you I was a nerd).  Any form of Scrabble thrills me.

3.  My favorites colors to wear are pink, black and white – though you wouldn’t know it from all my red and black posts.

4.  I have 3 kids but only 2 of them have attended the same school at the same time – and that was just for one year.

5.  All of my kids have/are involved in theater and I usually volunteer backstage.  Props and Microphones have become my forte.  (see, I AM a nerd!)

6.  I drink tons of coffee – love Starbucks – and even check out the locations of Starbucks before I travel.

7.  I prefer quiet and am a morning person.  Though my youngest has gotten me hooked on my IPod – that’s pretty fun!  I can walk around with ear phones in my ears and not listen to what my kids are complaining about!  Ha!

So now I’m tagging some new gals!

National Scrapbooking Day

In honor of National Scrapbooking Day, here are 2 layouts that we did at scrapbook club.  They are basically the same layout – just moved around a bit!

The first one uses the Afternoon Tea DSP and the Chocolate Chip rub ons from Saleabration.  The title is stamped in Groovy Guava using the Lovely Letters alphabet.  The scallop along the bottom of the pictures was done with the slit punch.

The next one uses larger pictures and has the focal point moved to the right.  The DSP is Berry Bliss and the title is done with On Board Chipboard letters.  The scallop at the bottom was done with the 3 For You punch and the Boho Blossom punch.  To keep the scallop somewhat even, I punched a half circle with the 1 3/8 circle punch on a post it and just moved it along as I went.

The “story” is about getting spirals curls in Samantha’s long, heavy hair.  FYI – we used gelatin as the gel in her hair to make them stay!  (rolled on over 75 sponge rollers!)  Considering they did 4 shows and had 2 dress rehearsals – it was quite an undertaking – but it worked!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Coaster Album

Things are nuts around here – but I do have some projects to share with you!  Here’s a coaster album that I made for Samantha as a keepsake for her last show.  The pictures are mostly candids of her friends backstage and by printing them out as 4 x 6’s I was able to cut them out with the Coluzzle and mount them on circles of card stock.  The little journaling circle is from Enjoy Every Moment.  The DSP is Cutie Pie.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Scrappin’

This is the layout we did in Scrap Club last month – without journaling because I’m not allowed to share that with you!  (Ahhhh – teenagers!)  The background paper is River Rock DSP and the accents are Night of Navy and Shimmery White card stock.  The flowers are rub ons with rhinestone brad center. The leaves were made by cutting apart the petals on the big flower punch.  To make the title block, I cut an oval with my Coluzzle, stamped the title (Lovely Letters with a hand written sub title) and then decided it was too big!  So the cut off the top and bottom with my paper cutter!  The NON is wheeled with the Swirly jumbo wheel.

I am in the process of putting my franticstampers website back up – so bear with me while I reload all the files!  This could take a while but I did put most of the tutorials back up first.  If there is something you need or want to see up quickly – drop me a line.  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Happy B’day to my girl

Samantha is 14 today!  This little 6 x 6 layout of her second birthday (time flies!) uses Basic Gray and textured Pretty in Pink card stock.  The edge around the photo is stamp with All In a Row in Versamark and embossed with Whisper White embossing powder.  The hippo is from Pun Fun and was stamped in Stazon and watercolored.  The letters are the Jumbo Outline alphabet and they’re also watercolored.  This was a display at leadership.  And appropriate for today!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
