My friend Jill inspired/challenged/nagged me to get my This & That Epic Day album going   So I finally sat down and committed to a cover and started printing out some pictures.  I started by swiping some gesso across the cover and the added some paper and stickers from the kit.

a sneak peek of our new clay and button mold.  I stuck it on the front so I’ll report back on how well it holds up!

Supplies
This & That Epic Day kit
Tangerine Tango ribbon, clay and button mold, Cute Clip

I’m inspired to work on the inside now!  Hugs, Fran

Wonderful Mother

Comfort Cafe – such pretty Designer Series paper!  Are you starting to think about the patterns that will retire – and stocking up on those you HAVE to have?  This is one of mine!  I used a Sizzix Accordion Flip die to make this album and the yummy Comfort Cafe DSP!  This is how it looks closed.  I cut through the first two layers with the Heart framelits – another love!  The Cajun Craze heart is floating – on fishing line, of course

I used a line of Basic Pearls to outline the heart.

A window sheet stamped in Whisper White Craft ink – Netting – for one of the see through panels!

Fabulous Phrases in the tiniest heart – and some Cajun Craze ink.

And the beautiful sentiment from Wonderful Mother – it’s just perfect!  Plus a Cute Clip – hearts all over the place!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Fabulous Phrases, Wonderful Mother
card stock – Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe Designer Series paper
Ink – Soft Suede, Cajun Craze, Whisper White craft
Etc – Hearts Framelits, Cute Clips, 1 3/4 circle punch, pearls, window sheet, Soft Suede taffeta ribbon, fishing line, Sizzix Accordion Flip die

Start making a list of the Designer Series papers you want now – and you’ll beat the rush in May.  (And put this one on your list!)  Hugs, Fran

More Regional Projects

This is a project from the Louisville Regionals – and it probably seems a bit early.  Made with the Petite Pocket die, the little book holds notes (or gift cards!) They used the stamp set You Are Loved from the Holiday Mini – I used Delightful Dozens and Best Friends Forever.

Each pocket is cut slight smaller than the next.  They are attached together with the ribbon.  My goal for this weekend is to remake this in a Christmas theme – and keep this one for Valentine Day.  Hope you’re having a great start to the weekend!  Hugs, Fran

Chipboard Friends

I’m doing a “clean out” of some boxes in my closet – and look what I found!  A chipboard album that appears to have come from a dollar store (who knows when?)  I thought I would dress it up –

I used some Retired Razzleberry Lemonade DSP and lots of retired ribbon (clean out – remember?) and had fun decorating it!  The butterflies are punched with the butterfly punch (2 pieces) and have a layer of cardboard between them to give them more strength.

The antennae and pearl centers are from the retired pretties kit.

The flower is the scalloped punch, punched 6 times with a rhinestone brad in the center – which doesn’t show!  The stem is the 2-Step Bird Punch and is glued with Crystal Effects directly to the book.

All the edges were inked in Rich Razzleberry.  Now to see what else I can find in these boxes!  Enjoy your weekend!  Hugs, Fran

Prom Mini Album

Last weekend was prom for my youngest.  I thought it would be fun to make a mini album of photos for her to have as a keepsake.  Using Kim Assaly’s album design I made one for my daughter, my mother, her date’s mother and the photographer!  I used the Presto Designer Series Paper which has a nice, very heavy weight and makes an elegant album.  (Though it doesn’t photograph well at all.) This is the front of the album.

Some notes – I used Basic Black textured card stock for the Big Shot Scallop Circle #2 die (the largest circle), the band and the scallop edge.  The circle for the photo was cut with my circle scissors at just under 3 inches. I actually use Crystal Effects to glue the bow (White satin ribbon) to the band. (Didn’t want it coming off – ever!)  I used a Trinkets crown on this one and keys on the others.  The band in the floral Presto pattern and the album is the script – wish you could see it!

This is the inside of the album for my mom.  (Mom and I jumped in during the photo session and snagged a few pics with my girl!)

What you can’t see – I added a piece of Presto paper to the inside top flap to cover the Basic Black scallop edge.  The center photo is matted with the Big Shot Scallop Square. These made great gifts – and a great keepsake for Samantha. Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Sneak Peek and a Winner

Daylight Savings Time always throws me and I got up late this morning.  I’m usually a very early riser but time changes do me in.  So even though I feel like I’m scrambling this morning, I’ve got a sneak peek to show you! In the upcoming Summer Mini there will be a beautiful stamp set called Strength & Hope.  $2 from each set sold will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  It’s a wonderful stamp set benefitting a great cause.  We used it yesterday at my team meeting and this is one of the cards we made.

This is a 3 x 6 card (6x 6 scored in half.)  Though you can’t tell from the picture, the butterfly is inked in Soft Suede and then the stamp was coated with Champagne Mist shimmer ink before stamping.  It has a beautiful shine to it.  The card is “spritz” with a Soft Suede marker and then sprayed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.

Stamp Set – Strength & Hope
card stock – Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede, Whisper White
Ink – Pink Pirouette, Soft Suede
Stampin’ Write Marker – Soft Suede
Ect – Vanilla Smooch Spritz, Spritzer tool, Tasteful Trim die, Curly Label punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, 1/8 White ribbon, pearls, sponge, Champagne Mist shimmer ink

On to the fun!  I used the random number generator to pick the blog candy winner and it is number 19 – Jennifer!

Jennifer wrote:
Love the card, wishing for Spring to hurry up and get here. Thanks for a chance to win a wonderful stamp set.

Jennifer – send me your address so I can get this stamp set in the mail to you! Thanks to everyone for playing – and my spring cleaning is on going so we will do this again soon.  I’ve uncovered lots of goodies to give away!

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
