You Little Furball 01

You Little Furball is a retiring set *sniff*!  I’ll miss these cute little faces!  I still had one more stenciled background on my desk, so I put kitty on it.  The colors are Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and So Saffron.  Kitty is in Cajun Craze.  Don’t miss out on this set!  Hugs, Fran

Forever Florals

Forever Floral 01

Forever Florals is a beautiful set that, unfortunately, will retire at the beginning of June.  This is one of my favorite style cards – easy to make and a great way to show off splashy sentiments.  To make the middle portion, I cut a piece of cardboard 3/4″ smaller than the Whisper White piece, center it and draw a line in pencil.  Stamp all the images and sentiments and then come back over the line using a ruler and a permanent marker.   Think of all the stamps that you could use!  The flower was colored with Blendabilities.

Looking at the Retiring List – Apothecary Art

Apothecary Art 02

Some of my favorites are retiring soon and one is Apothecary Art.  With it’s matching framelits, this set is a “go-to” for Sympathy, Thank You and Birthday cards.  Thought I’d share some cards I’ve done over the years with this set – sort of a Throwback Thursday!

I’ll miss it when it’s gone – but I’ve enjoyed it while it was current!  Hugs, Fran

Joyful Christmas

Joyful Christmas 01

Joyful Christmas is one of the sets on the Christmas carry over list, and the list ends on August 27th!  So get it while you can!  This is an easy version of the card, stamped in Versamark and embossed in gold.  I added gold washi tape to give it some sparkle.

Stamp Set – Joyful Christmas

Card stock – Brushed Gold, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Whisper White

Ink – Versamark, Cherry Cobbler

Etc – gold washi tape

This was one of the most versatile sets in last year’s mini.  Don’t let it get away from you!  Hugs, Fran

Field Flowers

I’ve got several retiring set cards that I want to show you before the curtain goes down on these wonderful stamp sets.   This Field Flower card has several layers on the flowers and lots of Dazzling Details.  I should have taken a picture from the side – but each flower is stamped twice and cut apart.  The flowers are done in Crumb Cake and when I added the Dazzling Details the color became almost golden.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Field Flowers
Cardstock – Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Neutral DSP
Ink – Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Etc – Lace ribbon, Dazzling Details

Here are this week’s deals – and don’t forget Free Shipping through the 25th!  Hugs, Fran

Goodbye Snow Much Fun

This was one of my “go to” Christmas sets so I’m shedding a few tears to see it go.  I took this one to convention last year for swapping.  The little tree is stamped in Stazon and colored with a Pear Pizzaz marker.  The ornaments are then filled with Crystal Effects.

The “brad” on the tag is a circle punch covered with Crystal Effects.  You can imagine the spread as they dried – and I tried to keep my silly cat off of them!

Supplies
Stamp sets – Snow Much Fun, Tiny Tags
card stock – Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Poppy Parade DSP, Pear Pizzazz DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Markers – Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Bashful Blue
Etc – Crystal Effects, Poppy Parade ribbon, Tiny tag punch

The funny thing about this card is that I grabbed a Pear Pizzaz and a Lucky Limeade marker – and didn’t realize it until I was finished coloring.  It worked!  If you’re going to start your Christmas cards early, now’s the time to shop.  The Holiday mini comes out August 1 – so if you’re an early starter, go through the retiring list!   Hugs, Fran

Pop N Cuts Traveller

Graduation?  Retirement?  Study Abroad?  This card has a long history and ended up looking absolutely nothing like the card at the beginning. I really like the Epic Day Designer Series paper and it became the focal point for everything else in the card.  The hexagons on the front were cut with my ecutter because I don’t have a hexagon punch – yet! (hint, hint)

And she’s off!  She has her bags packed, her maps and passport (yes, that’s a passport – or a book to read)  She’s mapped out her past or future travels and visited the travel agent. And she’s got her camera ready.

The map, Bon Voyage sign, airplane and arrow are from My Digital Studio.  The dots on the map were made with the tiniest circle on the Owl builder punch.

The luggage is all made with the Ticket punch.

The camera is the only thing left from the original card idea!  Ah well!

The travel brochure is also made with the ticket punch.  The map is My Digital Studio.  I decided to let the DSP speak for itself for the bottom of the card.  It was too pretty to cover up.

Where is your Pop N Cuts Dress Form gal headed this summer?

Supplies
Stamp Set – Word Play
card stock – Whisper White, Epic Day DSP, Chocolate Chip DSP, Island Indigo
Ink – Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base, Dress Form framelit, Ticket punch, 1/4 square punch, Owl punch, 1/4 circle punch, My Digital Studio, Window Framelits

Now back to setting up for my New Catalog open house this Thursday!  I can’t believe it’s time for unveil the new book!  Come join us   Hugs, Fran

Tiny Tag Tree

I have jars and jars of buttons (!) so when I saw this idea of creating a tree with them, I jumped on it!  (And it didn’t even leave a dent in my button jars)  I started by making a triangle the size that I wanted for the card and then choosing buttons, pearls and beads to fill it in.  Some of the buttons are various clear buttons from SU that I backed with Comfort Cafe Designer Series and Silver Glimmer paper.  I threaded most of them with linen thread – some are just topped with pearls.

Sometimes I think Stampin Up is looking in my window because as soon as I decided to add the Tiny Tags “Merry”, it went on the Retiring List!  (So hurry up and grab it before it’s gone!)  The Snowflakes are cut with my Snow Flurry die – which is steel ruled and cuts through the Glimmer paper beautifully.  I added lots of Dazzling Details – sparkle, sparkle!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Tiny Tags
Card stock – Whisper White, Neutral Pack, Soft Suede, Comfort Cafe Designer Series paper, Silver Glimmer paper
Ink – Soft Suede
Etc – BUTTONS!, Snow Flurry die, linen thread, Dazzling Diamonds, glue, pearls, beads

I think there are lots of designs that could be done with buttons – so grab your jars of buttons (please tell me you have them too) and start creating!  Hugs, Fran

Goodbye Letter It

I got a letter from my youngest daughters sorority asking parents to send a box of surprises our students for exam week.  I added this little note pad holder made from a stamp set case.  (And this is the only picture I snapped in my haste to get it finished and out the door!)  The background paper is Tea for Two – but from the MDS version.  I was surprised to discover that in MDS there is a pattern that has different colors!   So I just printed it out and used it.  The letters from Letter It fit perfectly across the top.  I am so sad to see them on the retired list.  They have been my “go to” alphabet for several years.  (Maybe that’s why they are on the retired list?)

So I cut the paper to fit the cover of the case – die cut the cute owl again – added the letters and the front was finished.  The inside holders a junior legal pad and an RSVP pen with a little left over paper rolled up inside.  Valerie had left me comment saying there might be a few more “sisters” wanting the magnet board that matches this – she was right!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Letter It
card stock – Whisper White, Tea for Two MDS version
Ink – So Saffron, Bashful Blue
Etc – 1/4 circle punch, Owl die, Clear Stamp Case

It’s another rainy day here – sigh.  At least it’s a good day to stay inside and stamp   Hugs, Fran
