Color Re-Do Six Sided Sampler

And it’s a totally different look!  Here I used Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo to recreate this card.  I also decided to pop up the Daffodil Delight hexagons.

Instead of a pearl, I used a Melon Mambo Candy dot.  To make the hexagon opening – stamp the outlined hexagon, punch the enter with a 3/4″ circle punch and then punch out the hexagon.

Stamp Set – Six-Sided Sampler
Card stock – Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Ink – Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Hexagon punch, 3/4″ Circle punch, Gingham Garden Washi tape, Brights Candy Dots

I love the font on the sentiments in this set!  Hugs, Fran

Six-Sided Sampler

I think this may up being one of my favorite new stamp sets (subject to change at any minute!)  And it’s available as a bundle!  One of my favorite samples in the new catalog is on page 125 using this set.  The card shown there is an odd size so I decided to re-do it in a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  All I had to do was add a fun strip of Washi Tape on the side.

Now take a look at the alphabet hexagon on this card.  (Upper left hand corner of this photo) This is what happens when you over ink your Wild Wasabi pad!  It blurs out the alphabet. Oh – and by the way – even though the sample states right on the picture that it is using Coastal Cabana – did I read it?  No.  I used Pool Party.  Silly!

Stamp Set – Six-Sided Sampler
Cardstrock – Whisper White, Pool Party
Ink – Wild Wasabi, Pool Party, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray, Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Hexagon punch, 3/4 circle punch, pearls, Washi Tape, Itty Bitty Banner Framelit

I think I’ll try this again in some colors to go with the Gingham Garden Washi tape – right after I do some serious straightening up around my house.  It’s amazing how quickly my house falls apart when I have new catalog goodies!  Hugs, Fran

Quatrefancy Table Gifts

A friend is having a bridal shower and I am helping her with a few things.  These are the table gifts she has decided to use.  They are the Quatrefancy Specialty paper window sheets die cut with the (now retired) Pillow die.  These window sheets die cuts beautifully! (we used 2 plates instead of the crease pad)

The pillows are sealed with the sticker strips from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit and decorated with both butterfly punches.  The rhinestones are self adhesive but we ended up using some glue so that it was easier to bend the butterfly wings to give them some lift.

So grab those windows sheets and start die cutting!  Hugs, Fran

Pure Gumption

I still have a few more June graduations to attend.  The schools around here graduate in May – so June seems really late to me!  I used Pure Gumption  and the exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base die to make this card.

The insert is the Sizzix Congrats – which works great in the SU base.  The numbers are Timeless Type punches from My Digital Studio.  I imported them into my ecutter and added a shadow layer so they would mimic the letters on Congrats.  This is one of the easiest things to do with an ecutter and MDS because all the punches are in SVG.

If I make this again, I think I’ll switch the colors.

The little hats are a 3/4″ square with a 5/8″ square popped up with a Dimensional.  The tassel is a 1/2″ circle punch (punch half way into your paper and then take a “bite” to make a curve)  Top it with a 1/4″ circle.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Pure Gumption
card stock – Regals Patterns Pack, Brights Pattern Pack, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Whisper White
Ink – Garden Green
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base die, My Digital Studio, 1/2″ and 1/4″ circle punches, Sizzix Congrats insert,  Scallop Edge punch

There is a cute mortar board stamp in this set – so you could completely skip the punch art if you don’t want to mess with it.  Hugs, Fran

A Round Array

This is a card we did at my New Catalog Open House using A Round Array and all the new In Colors plus Smokey Slate.  (Basically all the “never before seen” colors.)  I cased the layout from one I found on Stampin Connections – changed the proportions and added an embossed background piece.

Supplies
Stamp Set – A Round Array
card stock – Whisper White, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Smokey Slate
Ink – Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Smokey Slate
Etc – Scallop Circle punches (7/8 and 1 1/4) Argyle embossing folder

Spending some time today finishing up my reorganization for the new catty.  You can’t imagine some of the things I’ve found tucked way back in the corners!  Oh my!  Hugs, Fran

Really Good Greetings Pop

It’s the Soho Subway Designer Series paper again   I used the exclusive Stampin Up Pop N Cuts base for the card and the Apothecary Art Framelits to make the tag.  The border is That’s the Ticket and the Ticket punch.

For the insert I used the suitcase from Sizzix’s Journey collection.  I stamped with Beyond Plaid (last day to get this stamp!!) and added some Vintage Trinkets.

I used Early Espresso Core dinations paper and sanded it for the details.  Love how it gives the look of worn leather.

The top piece is from the Top Note die.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Really Good Greetings, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Beyond Plaid, That’s the Ticket
Card Stock – Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso Core dinations, Soho Subway DSP
Ink – Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts Base, Sizzix Suitcase insert, Apothecary Arts Framelits, Top Not die, 7/16 Trim, Vintage Trinkets, Sanding block, Ticket Punch

One of my friends was actually able to locate the street she use to live on on this paper!  Hugs, Fran

Old and New

What are the differences between May 30th and May 31st?  Today (5/30) is the last day to get an extra $30 in products when you join the fun at Stampin Up!  The regular starter kit is $99 for $125 of product – and today is the last day to get $155 in product!

Tomorrow from noon MT to midnight MT you can actually shop from all 3 available catalogs – 2012-13, Spring Mini and the new 2013-14 PLUS the retiring list!  It’s like a 12 hour bonanza!

Something new –

This is a combo of 3 different ideas.  The layout of the tiles was cased from a card on Stampin Connections (SU demo site), the colors are a combo I did last week and liked and Shelli showed the idea of using a sentiment in the punch.  (It takes a village!)

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Mosaic Madness, Petite Pairs
Card stock – Island Indigo, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Ink _ Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight
Etc – Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Mosaic punch, Rhinestones, Itty Bitty Shapes pack

There’s a lot of things to do between today and tomorrow!  Have fun!  Hugs, Fran

Pop a Million

One thing I love about the Soho Subway in the new catalog is how the paper can stand alone in it’s design.  I love the BIG numbers and used it with the SU Pop N Cuts base to create the front of this card.

The only things added are the flower (from Timeless Type Big Shot Alphabet), the sentiment and the tiny strip of Crisp Cantaloupe.

I used a Sizzix insert called Funky Label and added more Timeless Type numbers and a little banner made with the 7/8 scallop punch.

The numbers are on fishing line – and attached to each other so they weren’t flopping all over the place!

I also stamped off an image from Clockworks on the sentiment – just for fun.  The Happy Birthday is also stamped directly on the DSP.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – One in a Million, Bring on the Cake, Clockworks
card stock – Soho Subway DSP, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Ink – Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake
Etc – SU Pop N Cuts base, Timeless Type Big Shot Alphabet, Sizzix Funky Label insert and Framelit, 7/8 Scallop punch, fishing line

It’s a very busy card!  Hugs, Fran

Little Clay Flowers

A little tag – so cute – sprouting a clay flower!  This is one of the make and takes we did at my open house last week.  The tag is 2 1/2 x 3 (2 1/12 x 6 scored at 3) run through the Big Shot with the Dotted embossing folder.  The vase is in Pool Party and Wild Wasabi and the clay flower is Crisp Cantaloupe.  I took a piece of clay and formed it into a cup – added a few drops of reinkers – and stuck the whole thing into a baggie.  This kept my hands clean and also helped stored the left over clay.  Fun!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Bright Blossoms
card stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Stampin Write Markers – Pool Party, Wild Wasabi
Etc – Oval punch, Dotted embossing folder, clay and clay mold (Crisp Cantaloupe reinker)

Hope you had a nice long weekend- we did!  The weather even cooperated   Hugs, Fran

Chalk Talk Again

I promise to put this set away (for a day or two) after this one last card.  For this Chalk Talk card I abandoned the chalkboard technique and backed the focal panel in white.  I also used the other embossing folder in the Delicate Designs set – just because!

Supplies
Stamp Set – Chalk Talk
Card stock – Whisper White, Epic Day DSP, Silver Glimmer, Pool Party
Ink – Pool Party
Etc – Delicate Design embossing folder, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, small heart punch, basic rhinestone

Okay – pick one!  It might end up as my swap for convention   Hugs, Fran
