Million and One

This simple card makes a nice impact.  Grab your Color Coach and pick a color and a neutral that you like together and then one color that is either darker or lighter than your neutral.  For this card I used Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.  Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede (I stamped off the Soft Suede to make it softer) are down the side using Gorgeous Grunge and the sentiment is in Early Espresso.  Each Petite Petal flower has a rhinestone in the center.

The color combo here is Pink Pirouette, Smokey Slate (stamped off) and Basic Gray with pearls in the center.  To round the bottom corners, I used the Envelope Punch Board.  It’s much easier to use than the corner punch.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Million and One, Petite Petals, Gorgeous Grunge
Cardstock – Whisper White
Ink – Pink Pirouette, Smokey Slate, Basic Gray or Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Etc – Petite Petals punch, rhinestones/pearls, Envelope Punch Board

I lined the insides with Pink Pirouette or Bermuda Bay and Whisper White – which makes the card more finished and sturdy.  Hugs, Fran

Spiral Rose Bouquet

I made these Spiral Rose Dum-Dum lollipop roses for another project and had lots of them left over just sitting on my desk.  So…..I made this!  The base is a little, plastic Easter basket – 50 cents at the grocery store – with a 3″ Styrofoam ball pushed inside.  I pushed the sticks into the ball and it covered almost all of the Styrofoam.  For the few spots that were showing, I punched some tiny flowers in Wild Wasabi and used corsage pins to stick them in the spaces.

I decided to add a little butterfly for some “bling!”  I used a piece of wire and glued it between 2 butterflies punched out of Silver Glimmer paper.  After it dried, I added two small butterflies and some rhinestones colored with a Black Copic.

To make the roses, die cut a Spiral Rose die and punch a hole in the tab at the center that is large enough to push your stick through.  Then use your bone folder to curl the Sprial Rose.  Once it curls, you might want to roll it up with your fingers to give it more shape.  You don’t need to glue it – just push your Dum-Dum stick through the center and add a green flower punch to the bottom to look like leaves.

Supplies
Cardstock – Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Silver Glimmer paper
Etc – Spiral Rose die, Flower punch, rhinestones, small basket, Styrofoam ball, wire

Then you have a sweet gift for a friend – or a cute decoration for yourself.  Hugs, Fran

Four You

And one more Scallop Tag Topper punch fancy fold!  This one uses 2 techniques on top of the fold – a fringed flower and a Chevron punch lattice.  The lattice piece is done by punching 2 pieces of cardstock 1 1/2 x 6 with the Chevron punch.  You will end up with 2 pieces of “arrows.”  Flip one over and tuck the points of the top one (now facing downwards) under the points of the bottom one (facing upwards)  Then you can slide them until you get the look you want.  The fringed flower uses the Fringe scissors.  Cut a 1 1/2 x 12″ piece of DSP and fold it in half long ways so that it is now 3/4 x 12.  Use the fringe scissors and cut the fringe down the long side.  I use a bamboo skewer to start rolling it and use hot glue to hold it together.  Once the glue has dried, start curling the fringe with your fingers until it looks like a flower.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Four You
Cardstcok – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP
Ink – Basic Black
Etc – Fringe Scissors, Large and small butterfly punches, Chevron punches, Bird punch (leaves), Sweet Sorbet accessories pack (twine), Scallop Tag Topper punch

More snow/rain/ice headed our way so I thought butterflies were appropriate!  Hugs, Fran

My Friend

Here’s another Scallop Tap Topper fancy fold card – this time with butterflies.  This is a very simple card but the use of rhinestones for the center of the butterflies gives it some “pop.”  I colored the rhinestones with a Copic marker – love that idea!  I can have any color rhinestone (or pearl) by simply coloring them with a Copic marker or a Sharpie.

Supplies
Stamp Set – My Friend
Cardstock – Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Scallop Tag Topper punch, Large and small butterfly punches, rhinestones, Summer Starfruit ribbon

Did you try this fold yet?  (Are you hooked?!)  Hugs, Fran

Sweet Stems

Have you seen this fancy fold made with the Scallop Tag Topper punch?  Such a nice, flat fold that is easy to decorate.  I used Sweet Stems and Banner Greeting and the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper for this one.  The black ribbon started life as Crumb Cake taffeta!  I ran it over my Stazon pad until I was happy with the color and then let it dry.  For the flower, I stamped it twice and then cut it out and stacked the pieces.  Dazzling Details adds just a bit of sparkle to the center.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Sweet Stems, Banner Greetings
Cardstock – Sahara Sand, Sweet Sorbet DSP, Whisper White
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, (Jet Black Stazon for ribbon)

You Make Me Happy Pivot

This must be my favorite suite of products in the mini catalog – Happy Watercolor and Designer Series paper that matches.  Here I used Karen Burniston’s Katie Label Pivot Pop It Up to make a card using the Watercolor Wonder DSP to show off the sentiment.

The paper has such pretty designs!  A pivot card is a nice way to show them off.  And I love polka dots so the Distressed Dots embossing folder was perfect here. (and it’s a Saleabration item!)

I even used it on the Pansy Punch!

The card base is the note cards from

Life in the Forest

Starting out the week with a funny card! The front is Just Sayin and Life in the Forest.

Doesn’t he looked shocked!  This card is for a very special person who will (I hope) appreciate the humor.

The inside features Karen Burniston’s Garden Bench insert and Tree Thinlits along with all the little creatures and their reactions!  I used her floating floor template for the base.  You can find the template here.  The talk bubbles were done in MDS.

Another Great Year 02

Here’s another card featuring Another Great Year on the front and using the same technique that I showed you here to do the banners.  The only difference is that I colored the “loops” before I added the Dazzling Details.  The card base is the SU exclusive Pop N cuts base die with Birthday Basic Designer Series paper. There are lots of fun prints in this one!

Inside I used Karen Burniston’s new Pop It Up die – which work perfectly inside any size card – called Lots of Pop.  The owl is the owl punch (!) and the presents on the floor are just square punches.  They are mainly there to hold up the balloons because they are on wires.

“Happy” is from Countless Sayings II – a photopolymer stamp set.  I’m eating my words on these photopolymer stamps.  They are fun to use.  Change – it takes me a while
