More Spiral Roses

Here are some more projects using various sizes of the Spiral Rose die (129379) that I showed you yesterday.   This photo gives you a really good idea of the size because it fits perfectly in the circle of the Decorative Window Gift Box (132146).

I wrapped the box with Pink Pirouette Chevron ribbon.

These little plastic containers are from the wedding section of a craft store.  I stamped the “baby” from One in a Million on the side in White Stazon and put a normal size rose on the top.

Not as easy to see – empty and in a photograph – but the white really stands out.

Hope you’ve enjoyed all the roses!  Hugs, Fran

Spiral Roses

Let’s start with the card!  This card features the Spiral Rose die and the set Baby, We’ve Grown in the mini catalog.  I used 2 embossing folders (one is a Sale a bration item!) and kept the colors to Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Baby, We’ve Grown
Card stock – Whisper White, Pink Pirouette
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Pink Pirouette Stampin Write Marker, Fancy Fan and Decorative Dots (SA embossing folders, Bigz Spiral Rose die, Heart Framelits, Bird punch

Now, on to the Spiral Rose die.  This might get a bit long, so just scroll if you want!

This is the die.  It’s a Bigz die so you can cuts lots of different materials – and several layers of card stock at once!  You start at the small end and roll it to the center.  I like to use a bamboo skewer to get it started.

Depending on how tight you roll it and how much of the spiral you use, you can get very different looks.  Starting from the left you see the full rose, (and using just half the spiral) the bottom half of the rose and the top half of the rose.

When making the tiniest rose (using the smaller half of the spiral) I add a little cup from the Boho Blossom punch.

This is the rose cut out of felt (and glued to a hair clip.)

Cork!

Designer Series paper.

Vellum Card stock.

To make the large rose shown on the card, add to Blossom punches underneath a spiral rose.

I used Dimensionals between the 2 punches.

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations and big hugs!  Tomorrow I’ll show you more projects made with the Spiral Rose Die.  Hugs, Fran

More Love You More

Love You More and Sweet Sorbet DSP to make a soft, pretty Valentine.  On the front, I stamped the sentiment and colored it with a Pool Party Marker (which is hard to see!)  Then I die cut it with the Hearts Framelit.

Add a Cute Clip and some Candy Dots.

On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s new Lucy Label Pop It Up die.  You can make any size card with this die!

On the flagpole I attached banners from Banner Blast – a new set for Sale a bration  – and some banners cut with the Banner Framelits.  The little bird has several popped out details (and a Candy Dot!)

The wing is one layer popped out and the tail is three.  I adhered the point of the tail down and popped out the top.  (Hope that makes sense!)

I love how the Lucy Label give me several areas to pop!  On the “Love” I used a Calypso Coral Stampin Write Marker to make the “you” stand out.

On the bottom I die cut a heart frame using the Heart Framelits to create an area to write in.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Love You More, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Banner Blast
Card Stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit, Calypso Coral
Etc – Lucy Label Pop It Up die (Karen Burniston), Heart Framelits, Candy Dots, Banner punch, Banner Framelits, Word Window punch, Baker’s Twine

That’s a lot of LOVE!  Hugs, Fran

MDS, Ecutter and Spring

One of the fun things about My Digital Studio 2 (MDS2) is that most of the images are in SVG format.  This means that another way of using them is with an ecutter.  (I use a Sizzix Eclips) And resizing them is a snap!   I used a balloon image from Up, Up and Away to create this card.  I cut it out of the new Sweet Sorbet Designer Series paper that will be FREE during Sale abration – grab a bunch of it!

The sentiment is from Banner Greetings.  This is a hostess set – so hold a party during SAB and you’ll own 2/3 of this card

Supplies
Stamp Set – Banner Greetings
Card stock – Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Summer Starfruit, Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet
Ink – Crisp Cantaloupe
Etc – ecutter (I use the Sizzix Eclips) Pansy punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, banner punch, 1/2 circle punch, Summer Starfruit Stampin Write Marker

Aren’t you looking forward to SAB?  I think the Sweet Sorbet DSP is just beautiful!  Hugs, Fran

Another Great Year

Another Great Year 01

So yesterday I based my card colors on the Kaleidoscope Designer Series paper – and today I used it.  This really great greeting is BIG and fun to use!  I stamped it directly onto the DSP and then again on a piece of Strawberry Slush and pieced them together.  The banner is very easy to fussy cut.  Look closely and you can see the sparkle on the banner – and the cupcake!  When I get going with the Dazzling Details, there’s no stopping me.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Another Great Year
Card stock – Strawberry Slush, Basic Black, Whisper White, Kaleidoscope DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Stampin Write Markers – Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush
Etc – Candy Dots, Triangle punch, Owl Builder punch, Dazzling Details

Bright and happy to celebrate another year!  Hugs, Fran

Hip Notes

So what do you do when your daughter brings you a package of wooden camera shapes?  You pair one up with the Essential Wooden Elements out of the Spring/Occasions Mini and make a card!  And doesn’t this paper from I Am Me work perfectly with this?  I also used the On Film Framelits and Arrow embossing folder – plus some Washi tape.  (Gotta use washi tape!)

The elements are very light weight and fairly thin.  I adhered them with some Tombow Multipurpose adhesive.  To finish off the camera, I filled the camera lens area with Crystal Effects.

The sentiment is from Remembering Your Birthday.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Hip Notes, Remembering Your Birthday
Card stock  – Basic Gray, Pool Party, Whisper White, I Am Me DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Basic Gray, Pool Party
Etc – Essential Wooden Shapes, Crystal Effects, On Film Framelits, Candy Dots, Epic Day This & That Washi tape, Arrows embossing folder

The wooden elements are really easy to stamp on. I even used a Stamp a Ma Jig to line up the words with no problem.  Fun, fun, fun!  Hugs, Fran

Cool Kids Accordion

The Cool Kids set is perfect for kids of any age!  I paired it up with Karen Burniston’s Pop It Up Circle Accordion Framelit and matching Edges framelits and the colors in the Kaleidoscope Designer Series paper and came up with a card to celebrate the fun of being a kid.  The front has the cat embossed with black embossing powder and fussy cut.  To do the “awesome” I stamped it three times – Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay – and cut it apart.  (You could do this part with Stampin Write Markers)

So on the front the cat has a kite – that magically changes into a paper airplane on the inside.  (!)  Ta-da!

In the center I accented the sentiment with Candy Dots – love them!  And the pup is also embossed in black. This card style can hold a lot “stuff” but I try to be careful with the layers and touch each other.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Cool Kids
Card stock – Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay
Etc – Pop It Up Circle Accordion and Edge Framelits, Bold Bright buttons, Candy Dots, Bake’s Twine

Fun colors, fun stamp – Hugs, Fran

Peaceful Petals

A Retro Fresh Peaceful Petals card!  I like making these cards with a drawn frame and they are easy to do.  First I stamped the flower and the greeting and then I drew the line around it – skipping the areas where the design touches the line.  You can make a template cut 3/4″ smaller than you paper to make it easier.  I colored this flower with Stampin Write markers and added some Retro Fresh Washi tape to the corner.

For this one I tied a bow in the corner – just okay.

Supplies
Stamp Set – Peaceful Petals
Card stock – Whisper White,  Retro Fresh DSP
Ink – Jet Black Stazon
Etc – Retro Fresh Washi Tape or Baker’s Twine

Makes me think of spring – ha!  No such luck yet!  Hugs, Fran

Watercolor Sympathy

I cased this layout from one done by Sandy Matthis.  I changed the colors and punch – but kept the layout.  This is another card using Happy Watercolor – this time on watercolor paper.

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Happy Watercolor, Love & Sympathy
Card stock – Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette, watercolor paper
Ink – Jet Black Stazon, Pink Pirouette, Raspberry Ripple, Old Olive, Crumb Cake
Etc – Trim punch, Pink Pirouette ribbon, aqua painter, Square Lattice embossing folder

Here’s a “funny” – last night I saw a package on my porch and went out to get it.  It was something my aunt and uncle had mailed me 3 1/2 years ago!!

I might be behind on things – but I’m ahead of UPS!  Hugs, Fran

Hello Sailor

Love this new Designer Series paper from the Occasions Mini – High Tide – and the stamp set Hello Sailor that goes with it!
I used my SU exclusive Pop Up base to make this card!

The image is die cut using the Deco Label Framelits – and the little banner is really the new banner punch (coming for SAB!)

She’s a sailor girl looking for her man   I used my Pop Up Dress insert and followed the color scheme in the DSP.  So yes, it really is Calypso Coral instead of Red!

To make the dress, I die cut it in Pacific Point, Whisper White, Calypso Coral and Pacific Point DSP and just layered the pieces so that they would show on the bottom.  I did hand cut the collar – but once you have the white piece the way you want it, just adhere the next color and trim away.  I used the Word Bubble Framelits to make the talk bubble.  The hat is hand cut front with a circle behind it.

The sentiment on the bottom is from Best of Love – it’s a good one to have!

Supplies
Stamp Sets – Hello, Sailor, Best of Love
Card Stock – Pacific Point, Whisper White, Calypso Coral, High Tide DSP
Ink – Pacific Point
Etc – Pop N Cuts Base and Dress Form insert, Deco Label and Word Bubble Framelits, gold brads, banner punch, Baker’s Twine

Got my baby off to England, finally!  That made for an eventful week – glad it’s the weekend!  Hope you have a wonderful day!  Hugs, Fran
