Creative Circle November Blog Hop and FREE pattern!

Creative Circle Blog Hop Resized

Can you believe it’s November and the holidays are just around the corner?  This sweet little box is perfect to help you with your holiday gift giving.  And the best part – it’s free!  Hop along with us and see lots of great ideas for this pattern.

This is the box filled with cards.  It’s a substantial size and I was able to get 10 2 layer cards and envelopes inside!  I used Cherry Cobbler card stock and the Season of Cheer Designer Series paper for the box and the Merry Everything for the tag.  I die cut the top with the Perfect Pines Framelit Dies and added a piece of window sheet to the opening.

Here’s the set –

But it’s not only great for cards – it’s great for gifts too.  I filled mine with chocolate.  Wouldn’t this make a cute gift for a teacher, hair dresser, babysitter, neighbor – anyone you want to remember during the holidays?

Peaceful Pines Gift Card Holder

Peaceful Pines 02

Silver and White – such a pretty color combination for a Christmas card, but SO hard to photograph!  This Gift Card Holder is made with Karen Burniston’s Gift Card Holder die and Stampin Up’s Peaceful Pine stamp set.  The trees are stamped in Versamark and silver embossing powder.  The dotted stamp is the medium tree, but I used the small tree die to cut them out.  The little packages are embossed in silver and the ribbon in colored with a Real Red Stampin Write Marker.  The star on top is Red Glimmer paper.  The sentiment is from Versatile Christmas and is also embossed in silver.

The Gift Card Holder was cut out of Heavy White card stock and then again in Silver Foil with the center trimmed away.  The frame was cut in Whisper White.

On the  inside I reversed the order and cut the frame and a solid from Silver Foil.  It’s so shiny!  And that’s one of the best parts of the holidays 🙂  Hugs, Fran

PIU Halloween 01

Characters in Costumes – Day 2 🙂  And which holiday makes us think of costumes more than Halloween?  So starting with a 4 1/2 x 8 1/2 card, stamped with this awesome image from Stampin Up’s Six Sayings (hostess set in the Holiday Mini)

And here are the characters!  Everyone is dressed up in their costume for Halloween and popping up on a Lots of Pops die.   The All Season Tree is in the background.  The wagon is hand cut.

PIU Halloween 01 detail

Cheepers the Chicken is dressed as a cowboy. Chilly the Penguin is wearing an Owl mask.  William the Goat is wearing funny glasses and a bow tie.  And Cocoa the Horse is dressed up as bandit.

Hope there’s lots of chocolate involved!  Take time to check out all the other Characters in Costumes on Karen’s Facebook Page.  Hugs, Fran

Among the Branches

Among the Branches 01

Here’s my version of this card!  The Woodland Textured impressions embossing folder is such a great folder and it works perfectly with Among the Branches.  (That’s why it’s a bundle!)  I used some traditional autumn colors – Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry.  To get the distressed edge on the burlap ribbon, simply trim the edges off of both sides and pull a few threads.  Then send it off to a friend to wish them a Happy Fall!  Hugs, Fran

Creative Circle October Blog Hop

This month, Liz has created a Halloween Haunted House file!  It’s a cute decoration that has plenty of room for at least 3 cards.

Creative Circle October 2015 full

I made it up with the Haunt Ya Later stamp set and Happy Haunting Designer Series paper.  Here’s the house, with the sweet vampire at the door.  The ghosts are cut from the DSP.

Creative Circle October 2015

My cards are all shakers.  After doing this card, I couldn’t resist doing more!  The shaker piece is cut using the Deco Label Collection and filled with sequins, stars and more of that glitter thread stuff (technical term!)

Haunt Ya Later 05

I cut a spider web doily into quarters (just like the Haunted House) and used the pieces inside of the shakers.

You can purchase the pattern here and/or leave a comment here for a chance to win a cut out kit of your own.  What was your favorite Halloween costume?  Winner announced in 2 weeks.

I have several favorite costumes – my children have always loved to dress up.  But the most unique costume was the year my youngest went as a pin cushion.  I’ll have to find a picture 🙂

Now hop on over to see the other creations on this blog hop!  You don’t want to miss it!

Simple Ornament

Embellished Ornaments 02

This pretty little Christmas card features Embellished Ornaments and the 6 x 6 Merry Moments Designer Series Paper Stack.  It’s a great paper stack – Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Real Red, Smoky Slate and Whisper White in 4 patterns.  It’s a lot of paper and a lot of colors!  This card will be one in my October Stamp a Stack.  Hugs, Fran

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C305 – Show Me the Blue

Time for Crazy 4 Challenges!  September’s birthstone in Sapphire – Show me the blue!

Snow Place 01

My blue is Soft Sky and Night of Navy – and Christmas!  I used the Pop It Ups House Pivot card, Holiday House and the Stampin Up Snow Place set from the Holiday Mini catalog.

Snow Place 01 open

I added an extra 1 3/4″ to the side to make a fold in piece for the sentiment.  It tucks right up to the fence so it’s hidden when the card is closed.  The cute snowmen are out decorating with some Night of Navy light covered in Dazzling Details.  Make sure to check out all the cards for this challenge – and play along!  Hugs, Fran

Karen Burniston September Challenge Day One

Haunt Ya Later 05

This month’s Karen Burniston’s Design Challenge is Celebrate – with Frame Edges! I chose the Katie Label Accordion Album with the matching Katie Stars Frame Edges – and it’s a shaker card!  This “too cute to be scary” vampire is from the Haunt Ya Later set in the Holiday Mini.  He’s surrounded by Black Glimmer paper stars – the same stars from the frame – sequins, and some long glitter.  (I”m not really sure what to call it!)  The vampire is colored with Copics. I used the retired SU bat punch with more Glimmer paper and a BIG jewel!

Haunt Ya Later 05 open

The colors are a bit muted in the pictures because of the glare from the window sheet on the shaker.  The purple is Elegant Eggplant.  I love how the space on the Katie Label die accommodates so many things!  Check out Karen’s Facebook Page to see the rest of the team’s designs!  Hugs, Fran

Haunt Ya Later

Haunt Ya Later 01

A spooky treat!  This candy bar pull up is certainly looking more “cute” than “spook!”  The Mummy is the easiest design to make – strips of card stock, sponge the edges, start layering!   I stamped the sentiment from Haunt Ya Later and added to the front, added some 1″ eyes and little gogglie things – and it’s ready to scare and share 🙂

The Rubber Stamping and Scrapping Garage sale is this Friday and Saturday!  If you’re in Lexington, Ky you need to come check it out!

Hugs, Fran
