My niece and her cat getting ready for Christmas 🙂 This set – Christmas in the Making – has 3 darling images, perfect for coloring. I used Copic markers to color and fussy cut the image and adhered it to some Christmas Around the World Designer Series paper. I used the holly embossing folder for the background. The scallop across the bottom is the negative from the Ticket Treat border punch, The packages are covered with shimmer pen and Crystal Effects. Hugs, Fran

Noel Eclipse
I have to say that I didn’t know this technique had a name but people are referring to it as “Eclipse.” I used Season Like Christmas and the Large Letter Framelits to make this card. I stamped the card front using Garden Green and Pear Pizzaz to make a scene of snowy trees. The snow is doe with embossing powder. You can see the cards I did with single trees here.
After you stamp the front, die cut the letters from the stamped piece. I used a piece of Post It tape to hold it all together. Then die cut the letters from white card stock 4 more times. Glue the letters on top of each other and use the stamped letters on the top. Puzzle them back into the negative space on the stamped image. I added the sentiment from the Season Like Christmas set, masking it to make one long sentiment.
It’s a really pretty look – better seen in person 🙂 Hugs, Fran
Paper Pros Challenge – Halloween
Today is the Paper Pros Challenge and it’s Halloween! The first thing I thought of when I saw Stampin Up’s Season to Sparkle was The Phantom of the Opera 🙂 So here’s my Phantom card. The card is a 5 x 7 and has a circle die cut from the front. The chandelier is die cut twice – once for the outside (which is mostly trimmed away) and one for the inside. I covered the chandelier with Glossy Accents and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds. The jewel border was die cut, colored with Copics and adhered to the top. The graveyard scene is from Karen Burniston’s Halloween Scene die. First I stamped the Basic Gray card stock using the Marbled background stamp, then I die cut it. The sentiment is embossed in white on black card stock.
On the inside I used Karen Burniston’s Katherine Label die so the chandelier swings above the cemetery as it’s opening. The little spiders dangle as it moves. The creates are an Art Impressions stamp – Spooktacular – colored with Copies and fussy cut. Make sure you check out all the other Halloween creations! Hugs, Fran

Birthday Fun 2 For 1
I read about this fun technique using a credit card to drag Distress Oxide Inks across your card stock to create patterns and thought I’d give it a try. I started with a combo of blues and yellows – and it was a hot mess! But I kept dragging colors and when I added white paint and black ink, I was happy with the results!
I used the Happy Birthday Thinlit in Daffodil Delight and die cut it 3 times. stocking them together so it would be strong enough to go across the circle opening. Then I added some black enamel dots.
For the left over piece, I embossed a background and just added the circle and another Happy Birthday to the front of the card. 2 card for 1!
In other news, the annual garage sale is coming up the 15-16th. If you live in the Lexington, KY area – you are invited to attend! There are lots of us gathering together to create one of the best crafting garage sales you’ll ever see!
My craft room looks like a complete mess! And this was early in the process!! Hope you can stop by 🙂 Hugs, Fran
Karen Burniston Design Team – My Style
Welcome to this month’s Karen Burniston Design Team challenge – My Style. So that leaves trying to pin point “my style.” Well, you know I love pop-ups! I also love lots of details, coloring with my Copic markers, and using lots of sets on one card. Does that make me “fussy?” 🙂 This card starts with a 5 x 5 Garden Green base and some of the beautiful Quilted Christmas 6 x6 Designer Series paper. I also used a Stitched Felt tree – so fun! The trim across the top is Stampin Up’s Decorative Ribbon Border. The Christmas packages are from the Karen Burniston Sleigh pop up in Garden Green, Gold Foil, and Real Red with rhinestones in the center of the bows. The cute moose is from Riley & Company stamps and has a matching die. After coloring him with Copic markers, I chopped off his head and popped it up so he’d have a little more dimension behind the tree.
But the best part is always inside!
I used the Karen Burniston Sleigh Pop Up on the inside is Gold Foil and Quilted Christmas DSP and added another Riley moose and more packages to the sleigh. There is also another Stitched Felt tree tucked in the sleigh and the cute wreath has a Metallic Enamel dot on the bow. The sentiment is Stampin Up’s Oh What Fun – a great set to have! So I’m calling this “my style!” Hugs, Fran

Brightly Lit
So this was the first thing I wanted from the Holiday Catalog – a lamp post! I stamped and die cut the lamp, sign and wreath and layered it on an oval embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder. The post is covered with Glossy Accents.
Inside I used Karen Burniston’s House & Fence Pop Up die. The snow is done with her Nature’s Edges die and the tress are from the Winter Charms set. The sentiment is Stampin Up’s Hearts Come Home. White is hard to photograph but I hope you get the idea! Hugs, Fran
Tags & Trimmings
Happy September – Happy Holiday catalog 🙂 It’s finally time for the Holiday Catalog and all the fun, new products and ideas. One of my favorites is the the Tags & Trimmings stamp set with the matching Trim Your Stocking dies. This combo makes darling stockings that are little pillow boxes. The dies have all kinds of pieces that decorate your stockings. For these stockings I used the new Quilted Christmas 6 x 6 Designer Series paper and the Quilted Christmas 1/4″ Ribbon.
You can also just use the pillow pos part of the die to make little gift pouches, This one is a case of the one in the catalog. It uses the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series paper. There are so many things you can do with this set!
If you are in the Lexington, Ky area, the annual Stamping Garage Sale is coming up September 15-16! Want more info on participating or attending? Email me for all the details.

Paper Pros August Challenge – Monochromatic
This month’s Paper Pros challenge is monochromatic – and I cheated just a little bit 🙂 Tranquil Tide and White with a squirrel! The sentiment is from Carols of Christmas and the squirrel is a new die from Karen Burniston – Woodland Animals. Isn’t he cute?? But the best is inside…
This is Karen Burniston’s new Tree Pop Up die and Nature’s Edges. It’s a snowy scene with beautiful ornaments from the SU Carols of Christmas die hanging from the tree. The moon is a 2 1/2″ circle punch. Make sure to check out the other Paper Pro’s creations! Hugs, Fran

Paper Pros May Challenge – A Few of My Favorite Things
The Paper Pros are at it again with a new challenge – A Few of My Favorite Things! One of my favorite things is Karen Burniston’s Heart Pivot die. Using a new Stamping Up Designer Series paper, Delightful Daisy, I created a Mother’s Day card. I die cut the heart in Wisteria Wonder and stamped the background with another new stamp, Wood Words, and heat embossed “with love” over the top.
On the inside I repeated the background stamping and stamped the sentiment from the retiring Oh So Succulent, on Whisper White and die cut a banner from the Thoughtful Banners set. The Pool party strip is embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder and the Wisteria trim is punched with a border punch and placed underneath another strip of the DSP. The Heart Pivot die is a “forever” die in my collection!
Make sure to check out what the other Pros have created this month! Hugs, Fran

Balloon Shaker
I love shaker cards but have a terrible time deciding how much filler to put in them. This one is stuffed! But boy, does it shake! I used the Balloon Adventure stamp set and matching die and Tasty Treats Specialty paper to make this card. The Sprinkles Embellishments inside match the paper. Very fun – if a little too full. Hugs, Fran
