Frosty Ornament

Doesn’t he just make you smile?  First of all, let me apologize for the lighting.  I had to turn the “white” down because this ornament is glass and was causing a terrible glare.  Now on to the ornament.  This started as a large, clear ball.  I coated the inside of the ball with white acrylic paint, turned it upside down in a bottle and waited for it to dry.  While it was drying, I colored 2 Large Rhinestones and 7 Basic Rhinestones with a black Sharpie or Copic marker.  On the large rhinestones I added white dots with the White Gel Pen.  The carrot nose is made from the Simply Pressed Clay and painted with orange acrylic paint – and, of course, let it dry.

The hat is a glove with the fingers removed.  Later this week I’ll show you what I did with finger!  I ran Sticky Strip around the ornament to hold the hat down.

Here’s a tip for you – I glued all the rhinestones to the ornament. I don’t want Frosty to lose a eye while in transport!  If you can stand all the drying time, this ornament is easy and fun to make!

Santa’s Boot

Ho ho ho!  Santa has packed his boot?  This is a SVG file from SVGcuts.com called Happy Trails – changed into Santa’s boot.  I borrowed this idea from their blog.  The Designer Series paper is Polka Dots and Neutral paper pack along with some Chocolate Chip and Real Red – and a retired Christmas pattern.  The cuff of the boot is felt.

The banner is from Greetings of the Season – stamped in Real Red.  I made this to be a decoration – but you could fill the little boxes with presents and give it as a gift.  Oh what fun!

I’m in shocked that Thanksgiving is this week!  This season is flying by – Hugs, Fran

Another Book Tree

This picture does not even come close to showing how sparkly this little tree is in real life – but here you go!  To do this one I stacked pages torn from a book (that same poor dictionary!)  and stacked them on a bamboo skewer.  The pages were torn – instead of cut.  I made cardboard squares from the backing of a DSP pack as a template from 3 1/2″ down to 1″ and put a cardboard layer between every 3 pages.

When I was satisfied with the stack I sprayed the tree with spray adhesive and rolled it in glitter.  The cardboard layers helped support the pages during this step.  The base is a wooden spool wrapped in Champagne Glimmer paper.  The topper is a small ornament that is hot glued to the very point of the skewer.  I’m creating a glitter forest around here!  Hugs, Fran

I (heart) Santa

This card starts with a Cherry Cobbler exclusive SU Pop N Cuts base embossed with the Sassy and Circle Label embossing folder by Sizzix.  I added some wide Cherry Cobbler ribbon and Silver ribbon under a Silver Glimmer paper die cut from the Sassy Label & Stitched Frames Framelit.

If you look closely you can see the Stitched accent I added on the front.  The final element is a tag from Tag 4 You stamped in Old Olive and punched out with the matching punch.

And the inside!  I used Karen Burniston’s House insert and matching framelit, her Ribbon Tree die and Banner & Borders Framelit, Season of Style Designer Series paper and the “mini Frosty” from Best of Snow to create this little scene.  The sentiment is from the November My Paper Pumpkin

I needed the tree to be taller so I cut two of them and pieced them together.  They are accented with Silver Glimmer paper.  The lights on the house are Basic Rhinestones colored with Copic Markers.  The house is accented with Dazzling Details and the heart on the door is coated with Crystal Effects.  I also added some tiny snowflakes on a few of the dots in the background paper.  (yes, my desk was covered with stuff!)

Oh – and the tree was topped with using the Tiny Heart punch in Red Glimmer paper.

To keep the tall tree from flopping around, I added an extra support to the back.

Frosty was stamped in Jet Black Stazon and colored with Stampin Write Markers.  To make the sign, I adhered some Season of Style Washi tape to Whisper White cardstock and cut the tiniest strip – to look like a candy cane.  The sign is from Very Merry Tags – stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with matching punch.  The doorknob is a Candy Dot.

The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and die cut using the Sizzix Banner & Border Framelit.

Christmas Book Tree

While cleaning out a drawer, I found an old Webster’s Dictionary and went to toss it – and then grabbed it back out of the trash.  I decided it could become a Christmas tree!  After Googling around a bit, I came upon this tutorial and gave it a try – and here it is!

I added the chunky Champagne glitter to the edges using Tombow Purpose Glue.  Because I was afraid I’d run out of the glitter, I also mixed in some clear.  (I would not have run out – but I do like the look)

To finish my tree I glued it on a wooden spool that was wrapped with Champagne Glimmer paper and tied an organdy bow.  On the top I hot glued a small ornament.  I can’t wait to make more!  Hugs, Fran

Mr Snowman

Such a sweet face!  This snowman is a SVG file from SVGcuts.com called Christmas Open House.  I made him with Whisper White paper as the underneath and textured Whisper White on the outside.  The hat comes off to reveal a box.  The scarf is the sweater trim from last year’s Holiday Mini. The snowflakes are a trim I found in the holiday section at the grocery store!

He has Vintage Buttons and a rhinestone mouth – he’s a sparkler!  Hugs, Fran

Wishing You

This is my favorite card from the set I designed for UStamp with Dawn and friends Heating Up the Holidays.  We did this one last weekend   You know I have this “thing” about tilting boxes, cups, packages – so here is my Christmas version.  The washi tape makes it so easy to add some quick details to any card and that Striped embossing folder from the Holiday Mini is wonderful.  Hope you enjoy it!  Hugs, Fran

Christmas Church

A Christmas Church SVG file from SVGCuts.com.  This one is called Silent Night and I made it using Deck the Halls DSP (retired)  Honestly, I usually try the patterns with retired paper first – and goodness knows, I have enough of it!

I used lots of “snow” on the church.  Here’s my tip for using snow – don’t vacuum before you start because you will have to vacuum again!  That, and use lots of grid paper underneath to catch all the extra. Here’s a photo of the church with the tea lights shining through –

Very blurry – sorry.  My flash kept trying to come on.  But it gives you an idea of how cute it is when lit.

I’m stamping with friends all day today!  Hugs, Fran

Let it Snow Banner

Cute banner – but I really don’t want any snow!  I could go the entire winter without it   But this is a Create a Banner kit banner and I have had a great time making these. My “tip” is to spray the back of the stencils lightly with spray adhesive and use a sponge dauber to apply the ink.   To make the “Let it” stencil, I used My Digital Studio and my Eclips.  I simply imported the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit alphabet letters into ECAL and sized them to fit inside the circle (which is 3 1/2 inches, if you’re trying itself!)

Supplies
Build a Banner Simply Created Kit
Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit
Ink – Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Island Indigo
My Digital Studio – Build a Banner Simply Created Kit alphabet
Sponge daubers

I’d love to give you the number for the alphabet, but Safari isn’t playing nicely with me this morning.  If I find it later, I’ll add the info!  Hugs, Fran

Tiny Stars Tag

These tags were made with office tags as a base.  Inspired by several seen on Pinterest, I wheeled the tags with my Music Note wheel in Soft Suede and then sponged the edges with Crumb Cake.  Some of the stars are die cut – some are punched.  You can use any stars you have – or maybe you’ll think of something else (like ornaments?) to decorate the front!  The sentiments are from the new Photopolymer set Endless Wishes.  This set is packed full with little words and snowflakes. You could even decorate the fronts with the snowflakes!

Stamp Sets – Music Note wheel, Endless Wishes
Card stock – Shimmery White, Office tags
Ink – Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Etc – Soft Sued taffeta ribbon, oval punches, stars, gold floss

Tags are so much fun to make because they go so quickly.  But, then again, they go quickly when wrapping too!  Hugs, Fran
