Casing, casing, casing and more

Joan at Paperlicious has another blog that lists SU only blogs – and she was kind enough to feature my blog today!  Check out both of her sites! You’ll love them!

I did some Caseing yesterday (Copy and Share Everything – or Steal Everything if you’re in a bad mood!)  The first one is some bunny candy holders originally created by Diane.  They are scallop punches decorated with Pick A Petal Ears!  She used Peppermint Patties between hers – I used something called Bunny Munny.

Then I found this gorgeous card created by Amy (all her things are gorgeous!)  I don’t have the paper she used so I stamped the background using Baroque Motifs in River Rock, then again in Versamark embossed with clear.  I used Bashful Blue ink on a sponge and sponged around the design.  Then I embossed again in gold.  I ended up embossing the tag punched piece in gold – the poor card just wasn’t going to take any more embossing on the front (I tried!)

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

I recieved the “Great Tip” award from  Dannie.  This award was started by Laurie

Great_tip_award

Thanks Dannie!  As part of this award I get to point you in the direction of 3 other blogs that I read daily and always have wonderful projects for you to see.

1. Nancy
2. Rose Ann
3. Corinna

So I suppose I should leave you with a great tip!
Remember to staple the backing paper to your rub on’s when you get them. You don’t want the parchment paper coming loose from the rub ons until you’re ready to use them.

I usually start by stapling at the top and the bottom.  Then as I use them I add staples as needed.  If you don’t staple it together you run the risk of the parchment coming away from the rub ons and sticking to the plastic sleeve!  How do I know this?

Yikes!

Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Here We Go Again!

Most of the computer woes are over – thank goodness!  I’ve got another new computer also completely up and running!

So I want to let you know aboutNancy– she’s the featured stamper at Splitcoast!  That is so fun!  Go check out her fun gallery and see what people have been doing with her ideas!

I’m getting ready to go to Leadership!  My swaps are cut out and stamped – I’ll be assembling on the plane!

Here is a reject swap – one I considered and turned down for my swaps!  (What a thing to show you!)  It uses the new set Pretty Amazing!  Tomorrow I’ll show what DID make the cut!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran

Frustrating!

After spending about 4 hours yesterday updating my contacts and syncing one program to another – I awoke to no computer at all!  The screen wouldn’t come up – nothing, nada, caput.  Sigh…..Keep in mind that this is the computer that was sent away for 5 weeks just one month ago!  So that’s that.  I’ll send it back again – but in the meantime, a different store is copying my data onto a new computer.  Is technology a curse or a blessing?

So I’m looking back in my files for something to share with you – this is a project I sent in to SU when I applied to be a display stamper.

It’s a little box that holds 3 x 3 cards.  (The tutorial for the box is on my website under the tutorial button/love note box)  I added a rounded top that slips under the front piece.  The “lid” was run through the crimper to give it some texture.  The stamp set in the Defining Alphabet and the Rough Edges alphabet (for the little words)  The edge us done with the spiral punch. The pencil is made from a Word Window punch.

First I punched it in Kraft and cut a point at one end.  Then I punched it in Pretty in Pink for the eraser.  The body is punched in Summer Sun and has the ends trimmed off.  The metal around the eraser is Brushed Silver, run through the crimper and trimmed.

Here’s what the set looked like!  Fun to drop in a child’s lunch box!  Enjoy! Hugs, Fran

My Stamp Room

Nancy asked me to show some pictures of my stamp room – so since to day is a bit hurried around here I thought I’d just show you around! This is were I do most of my stamping.  The pad holders were custom built by a friend and are really wonderful.  The ribbon is in a paper gutter that has a yard stick attached below it.  The wheel are now in two places – I outgrew the first one quickly!

Here’s a closer look at my stamp pad organizer.  It has a column for each color family and holds both types of pads, re inkers, wheels and markers! (The wheels are in the little plastic baggies that are sticking out!!)

Moving around the room are my current stamp sets, punches and my wheeled cart that helps me get projects from the craft room out to the class area. The boxes below the stamp sets are scrapbook pages that still need to be put in albums – how embarrassing!  This is where you can start to tell that this room was done in 2 stages – one is white and one is brown!

This is the “business corner” and my cutting station.  I filed current DSP in the vertical storage holders on the shelves, along with project baskets and cutting tools.  The backboard is cork so I can stick up things that need to be dealt with in near future or things I want to scrap!  You can also see where I cut, cut, cut!

Last, but not least, is my paper – filed in the same order as the catalog.  The shelves on the farthest left hold scrapbook paper that I’ve “collected” over the years sorted by color.  The rolling file is two levels and holds my scraps.  It is truly amazing how much stuff I have shoved into this space – but it’s my space and I really enjoy it!  Enjoy!  Hugs, Fran
